I'm actually for the merger now. Everyone who I care about has moved off of this board and onto JUL, so there's really nothing here for me to stay for. The staff at ||board are willing to run a board though, as opposed to here where nobody wants to step up. It's really better for this board to just die, and for the users to either go to ||board or JUL.

I'm sorry but it really seems like everyone is forgetting about the ROM Hackers. As in the people who don't give a shit and came here instead of ||board because ||board let shit run loose, and unless Xk is handing out flyers again, they're still here, and as long as certain parties would keep to themselves, there would be less drama for them to have to care about (that they'd get five big spoons of at justus) as well as less flaming and trolling (ditto at ||board) while being able to just hack and show what they do.

Before two days ago I can't think of anyone who just wanted this board to die, openly, at least. Now all of a sudden its living past its due. For all the people who aren't concerned with these politics its as if someone just knocks on their door one day and says "Hey, you can't live here any more, your house was torn down yesterday."

Yes. But as far as my memory serves me, I recall most of these forums having a predominantly Acmlm's-Board memberbase. RPG Revelation, for example, had Tuvai, Acmlm, Colin, Hiryuu, many others (just these that spring to mind). EDS has Elric and Happypeepeehead, as well as a few others. Nifty Boards had Shroomy, Acmlm, Emuz, many others.

I really don't like the idea of 1. Also, even if security holes get abused, with careful programming of any new pages, and being careful to make sure that if an existing one is abused the damage can be reverted and the hole fixed. I"m saying 2 because even though it's not Acmlms, if someone like cpu or whoever stands up and leads with a sort of mix of Xk, bh89, and perhaps ||bass (perhaps because I don't keep up with how he runs||board), I personally think there might be a chance that the drama can be removed... but the 'Acmlm' name would have to be dropped, no two ways about it.

And about what knuck said... we tried that if you recall, back before the split. Didn't really work as I recall.

||board is actually the most objective administration-wise out of any board I've ever seen, mainly because we only have like 4 rules all of which are insta-ban and all of which are straightforward to interpret (IE, "No flooding the board" does not leave much room for bias).

I don't even think we have four rules. I can only think of three really. "No flooding.", "No illegal material." and "No signing up just to advertise and never actually post anything." Nothing else ever made any real sense to me. I think having more rules than that would be a sign of taking an internet forum way too seriously. The idea of a site like this is to have fun after all.

Remaining administration, do whatever you think is right. I tried to do what I could to contain the situation, and with this, the only remaining step is this one. If I calculated it correctly, it should force Xk and knuck into having to reconsider their plans; use the time you won wisely.
