I'm thinking Quake Man's design could look similar to ancient Chinese seismoscopes, with what'd look like a seismic frequency on the chest plate. I'm thinking his coloring should either be bronzish or an inverse of Mega Man's.
I'm well aware that time stopping has been used in previous Mega Man games, but I don't think they were done in this bizarre way, as nearby enemies can also be damaged by the short-range shockwaves that Mega Man produces.

That sounds like an awesome idea. Also I love the Chinese seismoscope idea it's genius!

Edit: I did a quick little drawing of what I think your trying to say he looks like. [awesome drawing]
I know it looks kinda bad but I didn't really take my time.
Tell me if this is what you meant.
I was envisioning the wave being much larger and jagged, but other than that, even better than I was thinking.

I was also thinking Quake Man should have a normally-half-hidden human-like face, his left arm looks like that of most Robot Masters, and his arm cannon on his right arm can be sort of used as a prosthetic hand if need be. He can hide his head and tuck his legs in his body when he either detects an earthquake or is about to cause one.

There are various generic palette editors on the "market." YY-CHR, Tile Layer, just to name the ones I know of. If you can load it into the editor, you'll have no problems. Find where the red is on your Dark Link sprites, and color the pupil with that respective color. I've done similar in various hacks I have.

Well, I'm gonna try to see if I can do that. I'm in the process of downloading, and eventually patching, the game. I'll let you know if I run into any problems, especially since i don't have Hyrule Magic.

Speaking of repixeling, it looked to me like Link's shoulders were red. Try using the color that's used for Link's shoulders on his pupils, after doing that stuff that puzzledude said.

I wouldn't go for a total degrade, just a partial one. Let me explain, once you get the first upgrade, you don't lose it until you die, same for the next major upgrade and the next. But that's just me, and I don't know if that's possible for any hack of Blaster Master I make (limitations and all).

Does anybody know how to replace the letters in the weapons menu in MM3?

I've replaced Rush with Tango and I would like to change the letters RC, RM, RJ with TC, TM, TJ in the weapons menu.
Do you have a .tbl file of the game?

That's easy! You take an IPS Patcher (I'm gonna say Lunar IPS), and click on the option that essentially says "Create Patch." Then you go through the steps that the patcher tells you and voila! You have created an IPS! You can then upload that sucker here using that "Uploader" up there or right here, and post it using the <a href=""></a> or [url] tags.
