There is this one glitch, if you haven't caught it already, that causes flickering in the status bar. All you have to do is change these values:

3F7B2: 0D->16
3F8E0: 68->EA
3F8E1: 8D->EA
3F8E2: 10->EA
3F8E3: 40->EA

Yup, and it was intentional in one of the levels. See, world 4 is called Error Isle, and that is a tendency, while I oughta remove that cloud in the castle.

These glitches were already dealt with. The game has been alpha-tested, by someone I cannot remember and myself, and I mentioned these glitches in a bug submission form in Wikipedia (don't bother looking for it, the page has since been deleted).

Does someone know, whenever MatrixZ (or however the creator of MegaFleX is called) is still active in the hacking scene? I liked his MegaFleX so much that I would love to see something similar to that for MegaMan 2 as well, because rock5easily's RockMan 2 editor is extremely limited...I cannot even change the sprite bakns like I can with MegaFleX, leading to many troubles when editing the third Wily Stage...
He's a member here and still around sometimes. As for Mega Man 2, a lot of things work differently than it did in later Mega Man games - adding support for that game in MegaFLE X would require a lot of work. Level data, for example, is totally different.

As for editors, you should fire up DOSbox and use Visine, which has more features than rock5easily's editor. It's a tiny bit buggy, so be sure to save and make backups often, but otherwise it's really good and easy to use. Assuming you're talking about sprite graphics for each scroll map position, then yes - you can change that in this editor too. Be sure to look at the readme file for hotkeys and such - some features can only be accessed by those. Additionally, there's a help file available, though it's not included in the download and it's in the old Windows Help format. You can get it here.
In that sense, he might be better off using a hypervisor, if his computer can support it.

I haven't gotten that far in ASM programming yet. I'm still on the basics: LD* and ST*, basically. Thanks to infidelity, I have been thinking of adding a simplefied save function. However, I'm more concerned about level editing at the moment.
I wonder where that wheel was gonna go.

That guide by skilldrick is what I used when I was now learning NES ASM.
This is actually what I was using as well! I don't think I bookmarked it, the last time, though.

How are the shooters glitching up? Are they like a space off? Some 3-bit objects do that annoying stretch when set to 1 ($*0). The only thing you can do in that case is to set them to 1 instead of 0. Annoying and limiting, I know.

A similar thing would be to use the Game Genie code OGPEAT. I was just goofing around, trying to make an OHGREAT code. Needless to say, all it did was make an *almost* all-night version of SMB1, barring those customized sprites from ANN.

Just... where in the ASM do these mnemonics go? I'd like to be able to just quickly locat and insert these opcodes into the ASM, and I don't know where in the code to look.

Alright, I have Southbird (had it for a while, actually) and the ASM can be easily loaded into Microsoft Visual Studio. How do I delete an $FF out of the code? I apologize in advance if this seems like a stupid question.

You just need to change the pointers to the lost levels. I've done it in my hack (WIP version, not so much the demo) without much trouble. World 1 actually has a pointer available for one of the lost levels. It's where the START space is.


ADDITION: Bear in mind that Workshop is not very good with the world maps. You're better off using a program that is more suited to map hacking, such as Beneficii's tool. It might be the updated version I have, I don't remember.

You go to the pointer and hit Enter. It'll open up a dialog with all the available levels you can point to. EDIT: Basically what shanem said.
On another note, I feel your pain. That's why my hack is currently on stasis.
