How do you use gimp I got it ages ago but I don't know how to make the pen draw different can you help me out?
There should be options for the pen at the bottom of the toolbar. I can't remember accurately, it's been a while since I last used GIMP and I rarely use the pen.

Chaos89P here, with -- oh crap, wrong forum.
Right, I have here Super Mario Doomsday, a SMB3 ROM hack. It's currently under stasis as I have no ideas for level design at the moment. This hack is meant to be done with as little ASM manipulation as possible.


Yeah, as it currently stands, it is little more than a texture hack, and I don't want that.

I also have a couple of videos related to this hack.


I apologize for the inconsistency with the volume.

I think the editor programmers just don't get around to it for whatever reason. Could be not a high enough demand for what you're looking for. For example, I had to manually edit Hammer Mario to get the skin color I wanted; no tool at my disposal allowed for that.

So right now I'm working on a Mario 3 hack, I don't have a name for it just yet. Also I'm still just on the first world. I wanted to know from some of you who have hacked or are hacking Mario 3 a question about the dungeon spike rooms such as the one found in the World 1 dungeon and World 2 dungeon. I want to get a sort of rising and falling effect where certain blocks will only appear when the ceiling is all the way up. If that makes any sense, in other words when the ceiling part comes down some of the floor would dissapear.
Oh, man, that sounds like something out of SMB Chaos Control's Tower. If I remember, only a two-block high strip of land will be unaffected by that; everything else, well... In all seriousness, though, what you're looking for is a couple of autoscroll objects. Place the "disappearing" blocks above the two-block strip. I suggest checking out the tower in Super Mario Chaos Control for some help.

Wouldn't constantly saving be detrimental to the hardware? Such as, if you were using one of those blank carts, wouldn't constant saving wear out the battery? And if it's anything like newer consoles, wouldn't the constant saving corrupt information if you turned it off while the saving was taking place?

Added a new ability to this hack, princess now picks things up at the same speed as toad.
Uhh, she's supposed to be slow with picking up stuff. Her only grace, so to speak, is her ability to float.

I cleared the metroid + saving hack by snarfblam....man what amazing work.....that hack runs flawlessly.
Can you provide a link or something? I thought I'd have to make one myself, preferably looking like the FDS version.

Hey, just as a hint, you can use < a href="...">< /a> and I think [ url="..."][ /url] (without the beginning spaces) to make a hyperlink to your file so we don't have to copy/paste the address to your patch in the address.
