See, Kujakiller? Here's another reason why we need split disassemblies.
Seriously, there's no point in being a prisoner of the past anymore. We need to go with the times if we ever want the MegaMan hacking scene to evolve. |

Posted by imamelia Sorry, but I have even worse news for you: They directly hex-edit the games. As in, they open the game with a hex editor and then change hexadecimal numbers around. |

Posted by imameliaPosted by TrinitronityPosted by imamelia Because the MegaMan hacking scene LOVES to hack games the Caveman way. For literally no reasons but "We hate change!" I mean, I'm still waiting for disassemblies of MM3-6 so I can at least edit ASM text files, something that I am more skilled at than blind hex editing. |

Sorry for the bump, but as a celebration for Kujakiller to finally create the first ever disassembly of not only MM3, but also MM3 Improvement, I just wanted to let you guys know that I now have an additional portal for where I showcase (or procascinate) progress on Togetic, in the form of my own Discord server:
https://discord.gg/Au2xrGM Feel free to join. |

Nice. Thank you. I can already see this as the beginning of something even greater. :3
So yeah, full steam ahead to a bright future full of disassemblies! :3 |

BTW, for anyone interested: I heard IDA Pro is the best disassembler program out there. So maybe that could help out. |

Why is there a page 17 that is empty?
What is this black magic? |

Still, it would be nice to include a source code to the program. Maybe there are other people interested in taking a shot at it. Edited music in MM3-MM6 is a big point of interest after all.
Especially if it's now sadly discontinued so quickly. |

I hope CAD Editor will gain support for Hummer Team's NES games as well.
Because just imagine being able to hack the NES version of Super Mario World! |

Alright, I'm getting close to releasing the first unabridged demo of Togetic.
However, there are still a few little quirks I need to work out. One of them being Togetic's eyes in the stage select screen. However: I have no idea what eyes belong to what direction this tilemap. I would be super glad if someone could help me out there. |

Posted by kuja killerThis is where you're only partially correct. Whenever roms in "public forums" are bad or not solely depends on the developers of the game the rom is based on. For example, Sonic hacks as roms in "public forums" are perfectly fine, because not only does Sega allow that, they even decided to give the ROM hackers the opportunity to make them "official" mods for Steam's Megadrive emulator, kinda like how Capcom decided to turn a MegaMan fangame into an official MegaMan game that one time. In the case of MegaMan hacks as roms, well, we first need to find out if Capcom is okay with that. |

It's coming along okay, although I'm STILL stuck with the eyes tilemap and the boss art for the TopMan replacement.
If someone is willing to help me out, I would appreciate it. Would certainly be better than this thread getting ignored again... |
