The Dracula X remake is gonna force me to buy a PSP. Cursed Konami!

I currently have a DS with hacked firmware and an M3 Perfect (CompactFlash version) for my homebrew and emulation needs. Toss in a 2GB card full of MP3s, and it becomes a versatile--if rather bulky--iPod substitute.

I have a nice 22" widescreen LCD (oh, yes) hooked up to two computers, running two different resolutions:

PC #1: 1280x768 (it's the best widescreen mode this ancient video card can do within "safe" hardware specs, and at a decent framerate)
PC #2: 1680x1050 (native resolution, no problem for the GeForce 7800GS)

I actually like 1280x768 better than 1680x1050, since everything's actually readable at that resolution (terrible eyesight as well), and it's not incredibly blurry. I would run 1280x800 and get a correct aspect ratio, but for some reason, it goes off the bottom of the screen, and I can't adjust it.

Yes, unfortunately, phosphors don't last forever.

We have two monitors in the back room at work that are on 24/7. One of them has burn-in from the desktop icons, and the other is just REALLY dark, since it sits on a mostly white screen all the time.

I'm actually surprised the monitors haven't exploded yet, since they've been on for ~5 1/2 years, minus the occasional power outage.

Indeed. While not quite as common as SMB+DH, it's still hardly worth anything.

I do have a near-mint boxed copy, though (sold separate from the NES)...I should find out if it's worth anything.

I believe it's safe to rinse keyboards in ordinary water, as long as you give it sufficient time to dry. You might even try heated distilled water if you're worried about minerals and other crap corroding the internals.

Also, I do believe Microsoft keyboards are fairly spill-resistant. I can't see any holes underneath the keys of my current one, it's all solid plastic.

I'm really, REALLY sensitive to certain annoying sounds. Some examples:

- TV sets
- Hard drives (I had to move my nice computer down to floor level because one of the hard drives whines at juuuuust the right frequency to drive me bonkers)
- Vibrating/humming fans and computer cases (especially when they fluctuate between loud and quiet in a pattern)
- Buzzing speakers
- Bubbling water (those 3D fish screensavers are TERRIBLE)

Pretty much anything that softly whines, buzzes, or hums will drive me nuts. I've gone to great lengths to silence my computers, including shoving foam under them, moving them around, tightening every visible screw, and even replacing all the fans. All I hear right now is the sound of rushing air.

One notable exception to the humming rule is my personal fan/heater...I can't sleep without it sitting right next to my head. I feel very alone without it.

I'm 26, and I could hear all of those quite well, except for 17959 Hz. That one I didn't so much hear as "sense," like NSNick said...it mostly made my ears hurt.

I'll try playing the last one on a better soundcard with my studio-style headphones, in case it makes a difference.

Hahaha! Fail at your own quandary you did, Sir Squash, and thus I shall laugh! Hahahahaha! What a total buffoon!

Wow...so many things I want to say, but cannot. A tad bit difficult, this is.

How long could an individual possibly last without using this particularly vital non-consonant? Such a tiny part of our vocabulary, but so important...sigh, I say.

Quickly attaining maximum cranial discomfort...ouch. Thinking is painful.

How could I forget that I have a prototype of SMB 2.
It's like Doki Doki panic, but with Mario characters instead.

Just -> jsut, people -> poeple, double capitals (MArio, IT's), extra/duplicate letters (I just typed extra "exgtra", hooray for fat fingers), dyslexic letter swaps, and a lot of other stupid ones that usually involve the spacebar.

I swear, the most misspelled/typoed word on the Internet has to be "definitely." I've seen definately (most common), definitly, defenetly, defiantly (?!), defanately, defenately, defdjlhfgdfkjgh...

I almost won the National Spelling Bee back in 1993, so blatantly terrible spelling naturally tends to drive me nuts.

I suddenly started getting calls for Frank a few months ago. They only let up after I added "if you're looking for Frank, YOU HAVE THE WRONG NUMBER" to my voicemail message.

My parents apparently got a message a few days ago from a gang member or drug dealer. Something along the lines of "meeting in the alley with the drugs" and "bringing a weapon" and "heavy sh*t going down." Unfortunately, the number was blocked, otherwise they would've reported it.

They also used to get LOTS of calls for someone with the same name as my dad, who was in pretty big financial trouble, judging from the people that called and the messages they left. He died of a heart attack or something last year, and you can imagine how crazy the weeks after that were...

He means background objects. You can't place more than three of them in the same column.

I had a whole post typed up detailing the various screwy things found in SMW, but then I clicked the wrong button and it erased EVERYTHING, so I'll just say that SMW is basically one giant "WTF?!"

(I guess if anyone wants specific examples, I can retype a few of them...)

Want a not-too-difficult way to stop tapping that particular symbol? Affix a thumb tack with gum. Horridly painful, but works wondrously! (Ouch.)

Keeping the music data in ROM rather than uploading it to the SPC700 probably saves a ton of RAM space, which can then be used for better-quality samples. It only has 64K, after all.

I can't imagine this method being terribly CPU-intensive, either, as the SPC700 is still doing all the decoding and playback work.

It seems like whenever I get a cold now, it progresses REALLY slowly, usually starting with aches in my legs, and gradually moving upward until it settles in my head and turns my nose into a geyser for approximately two weeks.

Right now, I feel like there's something living in my sinuses...my head and ears have been hurting on and off for the past few days, and there's a constant trickle of something nasty running down the back of my throat. It feels like the very beginning of an ordinary cold, but it's not going anywhere.

I stopped browsing sites like WebMD a while ago because I'm a terrible hypochondriac, and just about every symptom seems to lead to cancer or some terminal illness. Not the best stuff to be reading in the middle of the night!

I don't have any, but my parents have a cat named Cat. Least imaginative name ever. A better name would have been Dog, or Chicken, or Komodo Dragon.

The cat just wandered around outside their house around Christmastime 1997 so they brought it in.
Heheheh! That's almost exactly what happened to my parents last year, although they didn't really take him in, he just kinda made himself at home.

They named him "Cat" at first, but it's my understanding that he also goes by "Stir Fry" now. He's a really sweet, mellow Siamese, and a huge attention hog once he gets to know you. Just last week, I was attempting to take a nap on my parents' couch, and he jumped right up and curled up under my chin for a while. It was so cute.
