Posted by Ailure Well, considering Vista's "popularity" as of late, you'd have to be pretty stupid to develop a DX10-only game right now. ____________________ [citation needed] |

"blargh" = my generic response to anything that irritates me.

My Wii's connection was really slow and finicky until I put my router on top of a foam pad. Yes, 2-3 inches of clearance above the top of my computer desk made a world of difference. ____________________ [citation needed] |

Meh, I can definitely say that eMachines has improved a lot since their early days. Anyone remember the models a few years back that came with the horrid little white speakers? ____________________ [citation needed] |

I was verbally attacked for saying "pop" around my friends down in Texas, since they call it "soda" there. I think I started calling it "carbonated beverage" after that just to annoy them. ____________________ [citation needed] |

We have these rather large oatmeal raisin cookies at work. Heated up in the microwave for 30 seconds, they turn soft and gooey and holy crap delectable
Also, peanut butter cookies. Preferably the huge ones with actual peanuts in them. Also straight from the microwave. ____________________ [citation needed] |

Yeah, aside from the skidding frame, which isn't even colored right (Toad's shirt suddenly has sleeves?). And those edges are hella easy to draw, but most people are lazy.
Are those question blocks and bricks from NSMB? ____________________ [citation needed] |

Something about that left ankle is bothering me. It seems to be thinner than the right, and bent at an awkward angle. ____________________ [citation needed] |

The letters on the box probably just mean the RAM is guaranteed to work in a Mac, kinda like those white SD cards for the Wii (they're just standard cards). If it fits effortlessly in your PC, it'll probably work just fine. ____________________ [citation needed] |

Game companies would have to be really stupid to go strictly DirectX 10 this early in the game. Vista's userbase is hardly big enough, and there are very few DirectX 10-capable video cards on the market, especially if you're an ATi fan. ____________________ [citation needed] |

ViewSonic is a good brand (I have a VX2235wm...very tasty), though their OptiQuest line is pretty much the bottom of the barrel. I dunno exactly how that translates to product quality/reliability, but it's something to keep in mind.
Regarding contrast vs. response: it really depends on what you plan to do most with the monitor. If you plan on playing a lot of games (especially emulators), go for a low response time to avoid blurring/ghosting; if you're doing a lot of "static" work (i.e. Photoshop, Web surfing), go for a high contrast ratio; and if you're watching movies, try to strike a good balance between the two. ____________________ [citation needed] |
