The absurd thing is assuming any one person would take such a huge chance at throwing away his/her life under any circumstances, whether it means saving other people or not. It's foolish to sit back from the safety a desktop computer and even suggest that things should have gone differently with bystanders sacrificing themselves; I really do not believe that you would have willingly sacrificed your life in that situation. Instinct is not cowardice, and I do not see how you could be so ignorant as to confuse the two. Ugh. ____________________  |

Diet soda is horrible. No-cal, no-caffeine, etc... doesn't taste the same, no matter what the commercials say.

I share what I download, usually. Typically a 1.1 ratio for a while after the torrent is finished. But yeah, if a particular album is really good, I buy it... particularly with game soundtracks. However, if it has three good tracks, I'm sure as hell not paying 15 bucks for it. ____________________ |

Gotta agree with Kas here. There are no rules in a street fight, it's all or nothing. Frankly, if you don't do it to him, chances are they'll do it to you, and telling them they "have no honor" afterwards certainly won't make your testicles feel any better.

Yeah, it's easy to say what we could do when we were 14, simply because we're not. It's the internet and it's easy to claim superiority in a million ways. I just don't get my rocks off nor raise my self-esteem by insulting little kids on the 'net. The only people I hold to the highest standards of intelligence would be those most capable of meeting said standards. Nonetheless, I'm not saying nobody should insult him, that's a personal choice; however, I am allowed to find it really stupid and a complete waste of time. ____________________ |

Public transportation, also, is not a be-all end-all, considering its obvious drawbacks; also consider the fallacy of composition, which dictates that if too many people decided that using the bus or what-have-you is best for them, riding the bus would become more much more a scarce commodity and likewise more costly to the people using it. Soon enough it'd be too much of a bother to ride the bus and it'd be back to alternatives (i.e. automobiles) to getting where they want to go. ____________________ |

You'll just end up with a black market of some sort to compensate for the leftover demand of people who need (or think they need) more than is alloted to them. It'd take a lot of convincing to get them to agree to something huge like this, though it certainly isn't out of the question. Apparently, he's 19. He should be at least trying his damndest to get the hell out. It's the least he can do, right? Although, somehow I doubt he's suffering in squalor, desperately trying to find a better place (which according to him is any industrialized nation, quite a large pool to choose from.)
