I didn't think Chrono Cross was by any means perfect (nor would I go so far as to say it was better than Chrono Trigger-- no way) but I thought it was a very fun game nonetheless. I actually rather enjoyed the battle system, and the environments (music, graphic style) were absolutely breathtaking in my opinion. A few characters were interesting, but let's not kid around, the cast is hardly deep. I would never bring myself to use most of them, even on subsequent playthroughs.
The story was creative on some levels but lacking in other ways (horrible plot pacing, for one thing); but by the end, I understood what was going on and it was quite good. I think the game lacked in epic battles, and even those were too easy most of the time; Miguel was extremely cool, Garai was not too bad. FATE was too damn easy, and so was the TimeDevourer (Dragon God form). The final battle is rather cheesy and annoying, which I didn't like (recency effect ftw). Basically, it has some great things, but in other respects it just needed more work. All that considered, I rather liked it, but I myself do not necessarily take it as a "sequel" per se; I prefer to think of it as a unique game considering the characters and story differ so much from CT. ____________________ |

Or a million other possibilities involving necessary things existing outside of the realm of our logic. Even Aquinas himself knew that he couldn't really deduce that god existed from that argument, so certainly "Grey Mario" should, too. You sure do try hard, though. ____________________ |
