I love(d) the Entertainment/Sports forum. I'm ambivalent as to whether or not it should be split back into seperate forums or somehow reworked, but either way, I would enjoy seeing that back when it comes time. ____________________ |

I found it a while after starting to hack ROMs, last year... was looking for some location data or a place to start for hacking the original Baseball Stars and the mystical Google directed me to the board.  ____________________ |

If I eat a midnight snack, it's not because I woke up; it's because I never slept and it's 2 or 3 a.m. However, I usually consume cereal, tons of chocolate milk, granola bars, general snack foods, etc. at night before bed. Also, depending on the situation, I may consume a lot of coffee in an attempt to stay awake a bit longer for whatever reason. ____________________ |

It's just sad... they got what they wanted... there's no reason for them to believe we'd be antagonistic, so why would any of them insist on doing shit like that? I am forced to just assume the worst about what Legion really is. I personally would not condone messing with 'em anymore myself, but I can see why others might choose to do so after behavior like that. Meh. ____________________ |

They'll keep the name "Acmlm's Board", more than likely, because of the domain ||bass owns and also because of the synonymous relation between "ROM hacking" and "Acmlm". If they change the name, they lose a lot of potential new members who are searching for "Acmlm's Board".
As much as that makes sense, I think it is purely incorrect for them to have done what they have to Acmlm's administration position and membership on the board and to keep the name anyway. ____________________ |

Gotta figure now is the best time to advertise and draw in new members. That way, at least partially continuing the large amount of activity would be possible, as when newbies see all the posting going on, they'll be more likely to stick around.

So, second half of the season's starting up, trade deadline is a few days away, and it's time for those playoff pushes for your favorite teams. Shaq is back, Tim Hardaway's backpedaling from his anti-gay outburst, and Jason Kidd might be going to the Lakers. Obviously, now's as good a time as any to get this thread back!
The Tim Hardaway deal is the thing that really disgusts me; the man gave (what I think) was his sincere opinion, and while it was hateful, the least he could have done was stand by his words and take criticism in the jaw. However, now he claims he's a good guy, and he doesn't "hate gay people" at all. So, are we to take his words at face value now, even though if we do so, we're ignoring his earlier statements? Also, I've heard a lot of estimations about how athletes in general feel about having a gay teammate in the locker room. What does everyone thing is the consensus opinion concerning this? Is it more of a Hardaway-type attitude or more accepting? ____________________ |

Posted by ToxicI totally agree with you here. It's worse than an "exhibition", because the only thing being shown off is what the best players in the world can do when nobody defends them. Then again, more and more, All-Star games are becoming more pointless in all sports because athletes don't have any pride in just winning, either for their conference or what-have-you. I was watching the older NBA All-Star games on ESPN classic beforehand, and watching the Bird-Magic Johnson games was much more fun; these guys had pride and wanted to win. The only All-Star game worth watching anymore would be the MLB one, for me, because it's worth something (Home field in the WS) and guys pretty much have to try. ____________________ |

I only watch TV for a few limited reasons. One is for sports and ESPN; I watch Sportscenter at least once a day, a few games from my favorite sports (NBA Basketball, college basketball, MLB, NFL, College football), and just a few sports columnist shows (PTI, ATH), etc. Second is for old Seinfeld episodes and Everybody Loves Raymond. Sometimes, movie channels have something good on I want to see, but that is not so often the case. TV's not much for me anymore. ____________________ |

It'll calm down at least a bit, but Adamant's right; in fact, I'd extend it to say that you really have to look at the board leadership to determine how the board itself will shake out attitude-wise. It's really a matter of preference... if you like how the staff there does things and goes about their business, the rest of the board will likely assume a similar attitude and you would be likely to enjoy that place. It really applies anywhere, but at Nobodysboard it should be a very sharp contrast to what we had in the past before the regime change. ____________________ |
