This looks great so far. The overworld is sexy, and the levels look fun.
Posted by Phoenix Yoshi If that P-Switch is vital to get to the next area, what if somebody came along with a fireflower and killed him? They wouldn't be able to get the P-Switch so they'd have to kill themselves. If it is not vital to completing the level, disregard this comment. Posted by Phoenix Yoshi Levels without many enemies (or few enemies) can actually be pretty exciting. Jump puzzles over bottomless pits, blocks that are placed in tricky places but you must jump to without falling... lots of different ways to implement things that involve jumping with just using objects and no sprites. Just a thought. |

Posted by blackhole89 from archive 3 My question is, in Golden Yoshi's Super Mario World Plus, how do you beat Marshmallow Land 3? When you get to the end of the level, there's a question mark block with Yoshi Wings in it, but I've looked in EVERY LEVEL and gotten all the secret exits and normal exits (minus Marsh. Secret 1 since you need Yoshi for that) up to that point and I can't find Yoshi anywhere. Where is he? Is there a different way to beat the level that I'm not aware of? |

Meant to be a long, difficult joke hack for April Fools Day; it ended up being a short, difficult joke hack due to a rush job at the last minute. This is actually the first time I've released a hack.
Features Include: - Unchanged Title Screen Intro! Runonsentence Introduction level! (oops) - A surprise never before seen custom boss! - My first custom overworld! Screenshots: This was meant to be a level that was 100 levels long, but it didn't turn out that way. Hopefully it will in the sequel... First level starts out easy enough. I wonder what that messagebox says? This is pretty easy so fa--WHAT IS THAT HUGE PILE OF OBJECTS OHGOD. Do you want to see what is beyond the DANGER COLUMNS? Then download super impossible world 1! Download! Download Glitched Version (Not Recommended) Download Fixed Version (MIRROR) Download Glitched Version (MIRROR 1) Download Glitched Version (MIRROR 2) Hints: - You'll need to go to the level "1" on the overworld before you can beat the PIT OF 100 TRIALS. Look carefully at the level "1" before you make your decision, though, there is a subtle clue that will help you make the correct choice. - Checkpoints are bad. Avoid them at all cost. - For the first level (seen in the screenshots,) you'll need to activate the P-Switch over the nets. The exit is somewhere below. - Each level is beatable, but some are way harder than others. This is just something I did for fun, so Happy April Fools day. EDIT: The top yellow level, "2" is actually a shortcut that I forgot take out. You're supposed to play only "1" and PIT OF 100 TRIALS. Please ignore that level, unless you want to cheat your way through. EDIT: Uploaded a fixed patch. I still left up the easier version incase someone has trouble beating some of the early levels, but I urge you to try the real version unless you're really stuck (which you will get, trust me) ... also, the easier version has a bad glitch where the second to last room I forgot to attach an exit to, so you can't see what the last room looks like. EDIT: Thanks for the mirror, BooUrns, but you switched the links around in your post. Your link that says its to the glitched version is actually to the fixed version and vice versa. I've added your links into my post. I've never seen so many mirrors for such a bad hack. I appreciate you uploading it to your site, though. Megaupload blows. If anyone gets stuck feel free to post here, I don't mind answering questions. |

I played Quake II a lot. When I was registering for a screenname on AIM, my name in Q2 was "Dino" but that was already taken on AIM so I tried "quaker" but that was taken too, then I tried "quaker32" and that was taken too so I got fed up and just put as many random numbers at the end of my name as I could so I could finally get a name, and this one worked. Most people seem to think my name connects with the religion, or the Quaker Oats guy, but this is really where it originates. |

I lurked for a really, really long time. Since the first archive, since before the SMW Hacking forum was split up into "Crappy SMW hacking threads forum" and just regular "SMW Hacking" (or something like that). I think I originally found this place via Acmlm's "Overclocked" site, and I found his Strange Mario World hack but when I tried to use the IPS patch or any IPS patch on an SMW SMC file, water would fill up in the title screen and Mario would die, and if I pressed A really quick to skip the title the same thing would happen in the introduction stage. It happened with like 3 other hacks and I'm still confused as to how I made that happen.
I still lurk for the most part, occasionally saying something in the #rohmacking IRC channel. |

I collect Super Mario World hacks.
...A lot of Super Mario World hacks. I've scrounged through most of the archives looking for every link that is still alive that I can and I have some hacks that people probably haven't heard of, or would be suprised that anyone would have at all. Juggling Joker's "Just Another Mario Hack" for example, or SMW Symphony of the Night which is dead at every link everywhere. Last I counted, trying to not count as many duplicates as possible, I got 469. Mario forever, yo. |

Posted by Sgraff87 THAT is a cool idea. It gave me a slight chill down my back when I read it. An idea I'm currently trying to execute is a hack in the style of Donkey Kong '94 that was on the old Gameboy. Levels are one screen big with no horizontal or vertical scroll and you have to get a key and bring it to the exit. I just thought of it now, but to make it more in the style of DK94 (I don't know how to do this, but) Mario's jump could be weakened significantly so he would have to use ladders/vines to his advantage. This would also make it so Mario's jump wouldn't make the levels really easy because I have one level where he can just jump across the screen and get the key in the keyhole, whereas if this idea was implemented it would keep that problem from occuring. An idea, that again I would have no idea how to implement (or if it's even possible) is to make a puzzle element similar to that found in Mario vs. Donkey Kong for GBA. Have blocks that turn on colored blocks, switch palace blocks in this case, and then when you turn on another switch that color block turns on and the others turn off, so only one color can be active at one time. And to make things interesting, the boss levels could be more of an action level (like they were in the Gameboy games) where Mario could climb up a vertical level avoiding barrels, or in this case Chargin' Chuck footballs could be used as a decent replacement for barrels, as could a Fuzzy, Hothead or Sparky generator. I've got a few really simple levels so far, but if I used some of these ideas I think it could actually turn into a pretty cool hack. |

Posted by Comic Book Guy Since his name is 2ch, there is a very popular Japanese-only forum called... 2ch. The Japanese text didn't display properly for me, I think you may need to be in Japan to actually get into it (or use a proxy). スーパーマリオワールド (Supa Mario Warudo) is Super Mario World in Katakana / Romaji which can aid in the search for the forum. There is a Japanese Super Mario World wiki. And, if you'll notice, the same picture used in the upper left corner of the wiki is the same as the avatar Anonymity uses. I'm pretty sure the guy who runs that wiki is the same guy who made those Super Mario World 3 Vip and Wall Mix hacks which you can find on SMWCentral. Not only is there a link to his site on the wiki but the art style used in the hack is the same as used in the avatar. |

A sequel to Impossible World 1, an April Fool's hack. I plan to make Impossible World 2, very... well, impossible. I am trying to make it so every level focuses around a certain theme that recurs throughout the level, and uses similar objects and situations. This one, for instance, has a lot of Football Chucks, tricky cement block jumps with one square wide entrances for the footballs/Mario to go through, and shells that will need to hit turnblocks to go through. Yeah, it's nothing fancy. Yeah, it looks bad. But it's fun to see what kind of levels I can come up with while using just a few objects/sprites and a recurring theme. My levels before this felt like just a bunch of random shit thrown together. With this I feel like I have at least a little structure to work with. I have an end goal in mind but I don't really want to say what it is since if I do it probably won't happen. Long post for such a lame screenshot, haha. |

I have been waiting for this forever! Awesome. It's really nice to see another completed SMW2 hack on the map. With all the attention SMW gets, it is nice for it's younger brother to get some attention once in a while. |

Clothes. There's a store nearby where I can get a completely new outfit for like 20 bucks.
Makeup. Unlike the clothes, this can be quite expensive. At the store eyeliner was like $20 ... I'll try shopping around better. I would really like a cool makeup bag like one of my friends have with pink lipstick and shit like that in it. That'd rule. Super Mario Galaxy. My Dad said he'd put my computer together when it got here. It's been sitting there for like 2 fucking months and he still hasn't put it together, so I'd really like if he put that together for me. A wig. I'd like a cool blonde one that matches my hair better than the black one I currently have. A bigger monitor. MP3 Player. This way I can dance around the house playing music loudly without bothering anybody else. Not high on my list, though. A job so I earn some money so I can actually feel like I can support myself, and thus get closer to moving out. I can't buy a job, unfortunately. |

Super Mario World and Twilight Princess disappointing? What the FUCK?
I'll agree with knuck about Chrono Cross being disappointing, though. Edit: Crap. I didn't notice that the last post in here was on the 19th of November. My bad. |

Game & Watch rules. They totally need to make a Game & Watch Gallery 5. I remember one of my friends played a G&WG cart I had and he thought I was a dork because I had 1,000 or near 1,000 points on most of them. He didn't understand that you needed to get a lot of points to unlock other games. I loved the Modern version of Mario's Cement Factory, that was really fun. It was so cool how they remade the G&W games with Nintendo characters. Fire, Octopus, Egg, Chef, Mario Bros... there were some really fun ones.
I should get out those carts again and try to beat them 100%. I have all 4. It pisses me off because on a few of them like Egg I have 995 points, so if I had stayed alive for like 5 more points I would've beaten it fully, and these games take FOREVER to get to 1,000 points on, you've gotta play for like 30 minutes. |

If there was a Super Mario Sunshine editor I'd make the entire game those obstacle course style levels where Mario wasn't equipped with FLUDD.
...fuck, I just searched for obstacle course screenshots and I ended up getting a screenshot from Super Mario Galaxy with Petey Piranha in it. I didn't know he was in that!! Now I am spoilered. |
