Hi everyone. Im pretty new to this. I played a bunch of hacks and they were all good but there is a problem: there aren't very many out there. I've played bobomb mafia, oreffezeps, deciever dome, reserve 22, smrpg revolution 5, raeneske final mix, I'm just about finished with legend of the axem rangers, all I have left is armageddon 6. I have some ideas for some new hacks

1 maybe a hack following the paper Mario story. I know techniquely paper Mario is a sequel to smrpg, but if there is a possiblity to insert gfx maybe the levels could be th same. The kero sewers gfx could be for koopabros fortress. The desert part of lands end could be ch 2. Boosters tower could be tubbablubbas castle and forest maze before the mansion. There may have to be some inserted for shy guys toy box. There's already a volcano for chapter 5. Flower fields we have bean vally and nimbus land. Idk about crystal palace. Or new boss sprites for that matter But I think it could be a good idea.

2 maybe a game that follows yoshi. 5 different color yoshis, 5 different set of techniques. This one wouldn't require stage changes meaning the world map could stay the same with a different story. maybe just edit the level maps a little bit to make it interesting.

3 maybe a game where everything is dark and dead Mario goes up against world taken over by boos, drybones, shadows, reachers, greapers, hobgoblins, undead goombas and koopas, and maybe some new sprites all commanded by the big boss big boo, whos sprite may already be inthe game from bowsers terrorize, or king boo, or both.


Here's the thing. I feel like I have a lot of ideas floating around in my head. I've done some work with lunar magic before but I can't figure out lazy shell for the life of me. So what I want to do is give my ideas away. I'd love to see my ideas come to life so I'll put them out there and if anyone wants to work with them feel free to use them.

Do I get behind the boxes in cocoa mountain? Im in bowsers keep. I didn't beat mani mani or boomer the second time. Nor did I get the seed or fertilizer. Wait I got one of them by I forget which. Anyway what other extra things are there to do before I continue through the gAme?

i did the side quest under seaside town and the treasure under pipe vault. i didnt know there were hidden bosses in barrel volcano and booster university ill have to go back and check that out. im really glad to hear there is more after the keep. this is probably the best hack iv played i don't really want it to end. i cant wait to play the koopa bros one when you finish. but thank you for the help. now i have to download the 2.1 and apply it and hope my save file is still there. thanks again

no you didnt make it too hard. in the beginning it was a little difficult but its not supposed to be easy. i like that its harder but not as hard as the Armageddon hack (which my brother played and is at the end after only 2 days) it was really creative i like that bowsers castle was not the last level. you think it is then all of a sudden your going back to other levels for more action. i liked the last weapons the quake hammer is my favorite and the pink laser. sometimes the quake hammer glitches a little but thats no big deal at all. a few f the glitches i saw were involving going back t previous places you were not ment to like the cocoa mountain cave if you go back after beating giovanni they are still there and if you go in the hole the game freezes and the pallet of the secret grove looked a little glitchy and off. but oh well thats not even important. im at the factory now the only problem is i cant find the seed and fertilizer anywhere. but all around its a great game.

if king thwamp supposed to be in bowsers castle at the end where the giant thwamp is i cant go there cause again once you pass the number 1 door you fight the enemies in the action room then in the second room the game freezes when you walk up to the statues. this only happens the second time going through.

and also im supposed to use a yoshi cookie on the underguy to get the fertilizer. so i equip the speed demon and use the cookie on him but it just gives me a yoshi candy instead of eating him and giving me the fertilizer. i even opened the smc in lazy shell to see if that was the monster that you get it from and it is. the seed is supposed to be in a shop but none of the shops in the game have it.

these were just a couple of things that i noticed and didnt know if i was just being an idiot or if there is actually a problem

ok im very new to this like i just started playing with this tonight . im playing around with lazy shell to get a feel for it and maybe make my own game when i understand it enough, i did some extremely basic stuff like changed some spell names and pallets. i understand the audio sample for spells and attacks is the same as the the music but how do i go about changing what the sounds of a spell are. like for example i made thunderbolt red so now its called red bolt and is fire elemental and im going to change the flash at the end red (if i can figure it out). but if i want to change the sound to say the sound flare makes when the flash happens how do i go about doing that. also i made star rain dark star turned it black and going to make it hit only 2 times like the actual dark star attack but i want to change the sounds too.

edit: im editing this whole post because i figured out that stuff from my last post but now i have new questions. i posted some topics in the forums and i got some views but barely any responses. i really don't want to be bothersome but i need help to continue my work.

firstly
how do i make it rain with lightning in a level. and also can i change that to snow or anything else at all? like i cant get the L3 gfx to work. i even copied settings exactly from other levels and it is always garbled
Edit: I got the rain to show up it kind of looks like snow when it is set to SE very fast. Before it would show up over the map but garble it up now it won't show up over the map only in the background. And i only have it set to mushroom kingdom during mack but now every other levels background is garbled

i asked before how to edit screen effects for attacks. for example i want to change the ending from geno blast to the aurora flash screen effect. i was told that i can actually delete the 3 commands under 35bc38 and replace them with the commands from aurora flash and it should work. id also like to change snowy to something else but the problem is i can not edit or delete the screen effect command. i was told to change the animation packet which makes sense and was even given the values to enter but the program will not let me edit or delete the screen effect command.

Third
how can I change weapon effects like change what the hammer does. Like one pound then drop an ice crystal
any help would be greatly appreciated

Is it possible to make toad an enemy? I want to make an undead ghostly game and wanted to make toad into a zombie and make him like black and red but is it possible to change an existing enemy to a toad sprite with attacks and everything?

is there a way to write new scripts? like copy an enemy's attack script t use myself. for example

ice bomb is now arctic wind and has blizzard animation and sound. that works fine. but i changed mute attack to "Pain". what i wanted to do was just make it the same as endobubble. it turned out the same as mute except the balloon was the fear exclamation. thats ok but then when endoboubble is suppesed to happen on the enemy you choose the sound plays but the sprite is messed up even though i changed all action and sprites to endobubble. i just need a little help editing scripts. also item script editing

im trying to replace geno blast with aurora flash. not the whole thing just the rainbow blast part. i already changed the script for the sounds and all the effects up to the actual blast. where it says "[35bc73] play back sound ignition from geno blast" right underneath that is "[35bc75] screen effect: geno blast." that can not be changed but im pretty sure thats the only thing related to it. theres nothing else to change involving actual visual effects. i mean i want to keep the animations exactly the same as geno blast except for the actual blast. is there a way to change the blast to the aurora flash animation?

Thanks I will try it when I get home from work. But what about the subroutine after that? I noticed that after the stuff you told me to delete and replace there is another sound and stuff which I thought was the actuall blast.

edit: ok well i went home and tried it and to no avail i can not actually delete commands. all it will let me do is delete the hex on the bottom of the screen but then it just goes right back to the original value when i click something els.

the problem is when i try to open the level editor. but the strange thing is iv been using the same rom for weeks and it just did it this morning. and it also does it with all my backups and even a clean rom. i know there isnt a problem with the clean one.

ok thank you i will try one more time if it still has an error then i will just try again after down loading tomorrow. also certain things give me errors that arent even edited. like when i try to open booster hills map it gives me the error. certain sprites and events give me an error even though they were never edited. but ill check it out tomorrow.

first off i would like to know how to make it rain with the lightning like in kapusta plains in the bobomb mafia game. second can i change that to the snowy background or somthing to make it snow over the screen? my concept in mushroom kingdom is that mack and his gang are ice element and have brought snow to the kingdom. i already changed all the pallets for mushroom kingdom to look like snow but i wanted for when you go to mushroom kingdom when mack is there for it to be like a blizzard.

I'm having a few scripting problems. I made a new monster from the booster dummy. I coppiced the hammer bros and made icy Hammer bro. I copied the script exactly from the original and all was fine. But now that I want to add dialogue there are many problems.
The first thing I tried was to create an event just before him (he's in the mushroom kingdom ectrance to throne room during Mack) I wanted to make an event that runs the dialogue then enters the battle. When I touch the event it goes right to battle then after I beat them the screen goes black.
The second way I tried was making the npc of him trigger the event but I got the same results

The last time I thought I had it. I made him a regular battle and added run battle dialogue commands before he attacked. That way was worse it turned the formation into 1 booster with 1 health.
It seems like no matter how I do this it won't let me run it

How should I have the scripts written in order to get this battle just before Mack to have dialogu correctly?
Their scripts aren't working correctly either I coppied the script exactly except I made the attacks different and wanted him to use light beam instead of valor up. The attacks work. The spells don't get used and there's nothing at all when one dies. I'm using the original in the game too and that one works fine.

Any thoughts?

i changed many animation scripts nothing really big just changing sounds and objects or sprites. recently things are going wrong though. some of the sounds are not working anymore even though i havent touched them. like i changed flame to freeze and the flame at the end was changed to a screen blast. the blast still works but the sound no longer plays.
a bigger problem is i changed sleepy time to poison sumac and when you rotate the control pad it is supposed to rain petals and then drop a beanstalk. all i changed was action sprites and sounds. the problem is first the lamb sprite that rises up would not rise it would stay and freeze the script. i got it to rise again but now the rotating dosent work. no mater how mush i rotate the control pad it only plays the sequence that runs when you dont do any thing.

i need help to fix this because there isnt a feature in lazy shell to import animation scripts so i cant import the original and retry. i have been making backups but iv been away and haven't been able to test until today and if i go from a backup it will be fixed but alot of work will have top be redone.

is there any way i can fix the script?

how can I write an event script in which mario walks up to an NPC when you push A there is dialogue then a battle with it then return to the map after it is over. iv fiddled with it alot but every time i write it, it always comes out the same. i walk up and push A but there is no dialogue it just goes right to the battle.the pack is correct but then after the battle i get a black screen with music. no matter how i seem to write the event it comes out the same every time. how exactly should i have the event script written? i am creating new bosses in the rooms right before the actual armed bosses but so far the best i can get is just to make it a battle NPC and thats it.
