I have decided to register because I never did after all the years of checking this place out but never registering. Mostly due to being shy but the years have changed me so here I am. I'm a fairly active sort of person so perhaps I can make certain forums a bit more active.

Interests include, writing, programming, drawing, improvising stories, RP, and a bunch of other stuff.

I've been writing some misc things here and there but if you are interested then view my profile for some links to my site and DA. I tend to improvise often so I enjoy doing so in both writing and programming.

The first programming language I learned was c++ back years ago when I was in high school. It was fun learning and I always had an interest for computers because I get it from my dad's side of the family. (I got writing/creative stuff on my mom's side.) The next was PHP and I pretty much self taught myself everything. I only looked up stuff when needed but most of my learning done through lots of trail and error. Don't understand something? Take some code and pull it apart as far as you can. See what each and every little change can do. I often like taking things apart to learn how it works. I learn quickly when I set my mind to the task.

As of the late, I work on DB (Dimension Board) which resembles SMWC in some structures and has quite a lot of features and lots of front end support. I always believed in a strong admin panel. Of course, back the in the past the code was a mess and quite laughable (some parts still are but it is still something I just do for fun and learning experiences). Being the pack rat I am, have like every backup/version ever. It shows of my learning curves and interestingly enough, my optimization skills. I always seem to learn something each day and crave to do so. The story behind Dimension Board has been told so many times I lost track but more or less I did it because I could and because I enjoyed taking HTML and breathing it into life. It was for joke purposes never meant to be a real project, but it turned out that way.

In addition, I've recently have been working on some site related tutorials and have been answering a few questions over at stackoverflow. I thought it would be a fun way to help others out. Which brings me to another favorite thing to do with programming. I believe in using one's knowledge for the good of teaching. Sadly, I haven't had the chance to really work on anything with anyone but would like to. Lastly, I have some other minor languages learned but PHP is probably my strongest suit. Made things from games and boards to other little tiny things which are just random things to pass time.

As for drawing, I've been doing a lot more recently. I am a bit rusty since I haven't attempted in like ten years. Yeah, better late than never? I have also attempted to compose a bit too. I seem to do too much at ones sometimes. So I usually just watch random videos and hang out with friends when I can't decide. I also do some LPs too.

I guess I could also mention a few ROM hacking related things too. My main experience, rusty as it is, is SMW. Although I have had thoughts of Pokemon Emerald since I recently got into that game again a few months ago. Funny story behind that.

I have registered at SMWC first back in 2008 but I have been lurking these forums (and some incarnations) for far longer but just never registered. So yeah, I hope you all enjoy my stay as I will try to do the same. Here's to some more posts, cheers!

Time to dust this place off a bit.

So today I've spent the day working on my final project I have for my game design class that I am taking for college. I've been enjoying the work I've put into this card game (physical cards). I've called the game Fighters of Desteria but the name is still not exactly final. Now I am working on my second design document. Those are fun, haha. Except I haven't done one yet for something not code oriented so this should also be interesting to do. Not to mention the other 5 side projects I keep trying to do. Whether it be programming related or writing, I always have something to do.

I approve of this idea. And this totally isn't due to the fact everypony I'm friends with would force me to vote this way.

Whether it would be secret, invite only, grouped, or otherwise, not sure. Probably depends. Maybe it would be a good idea to set up other forums which may be of interest at the same time. What forums, not sure.
I mention the last bit because if you have something else nice set up at the same time, perhaps everyone can feel they get something. But as we all know, there will always be someone bound to complain.

I have another idea and that would be to finish that RPG system. It is interesting and could be something much more. I have some ideas but I'd surely overwhelm anyone by posting them so perhaps I could PM anyone interested instead.

Heck, I am actually already making one so I can go ahead and do some experimenting. I am a bit of an RPG nut though so perhaps that's why. Next we could have some event based around this. Not necessarily lots of posting but activity using this upgraded system of possible fights with NPCs or battles with other users who accept some kind of PVP duel or match. Have some spells/abilities here or there, and other additions. Depends on what people want really.

Thinking about this now makes me want to work on my system again. Sadly it is getting late (4AM) and I should sleep.

Other than specs which you can post, what kind of computer would you just love to have? Would it be more for gaming/LPing, for work, or just whatever? Any particular things/features you want to get out of that computer that all other computers fail to meet? Post it here and let's get some interesting answers.

I'll post mine after a bit.

While my computer is okay (much better than the one two or so years ago), I'd still like to get a proper gaming/LP sort of computer that can handle big recording sessions and won't lag the freak out when I tend to do too many things at once. My problem is I have more than 20 tabs everywhere. Yeah, browsers hate me for that reason.

Regardless, I have Windows 7 now but I've been hearing certain things of 8 that make me double take a bit. My ideal operating system would be Window's type of interface (perhaps even better) and with some of the benefits of the other operating systems that boost about no viruses or and problems. Of course, I never have had any blue screen or viruses ever. Naturally because I am very careful with what I click usually. And usually when someone says X is indestructible, someone will make a better idiot to break it. I have a shirt with that similar phrase.

So I guess when I do get my new computer in a month or so, I am aiming to make sure it has lots of RAM because the amount of RAM I have currently is just always topping while recording, forcing my recorded FPS to just die even with optimal settings. This computer has half a terabyte and I never really ran out space so that is just fine. I'd definitely like a top line graphics card to make the experience as enjoyable as possible. It may easily be one of the most expensive things you get upgrade but I consider it a bit important for my recordings.

Now we just need someone who can code in php to actually make it! *hint: not me*

I shall offer my services. After all, I've been working on an RPG system for my board. Although my board uses a few things this board obviously won't (unless everyone wants those additions) but it should be pretty easy to work on for me.

If you want, I can show you some pictures too of what I've done for my system.
Game Start (The image uses javascript to switch between states until after 5 seconds it brings up the game title.)
Player Classes (I will probably see what classes people here want if this is implemented.)
Factions (Same as last, would depend on if Board2 wants a particular story)
Difficulty (The lowest setting is a tutorial mode)
Nightmare Difficulty (Oh yeah, some of you are probably getting a Doom vibe.)

There's classes, factions, and even difficulty! Plus I have intent on multiple saves being possible. Your profile stats would show your current game you are playing. I am still reworking the actual battle system and giving some NPCs some AI and whatnot. Spells are still being added as well.
In addition. I have the idea for a casino like place to gamble away some coins in the hopes for better treasures and rewards. I have the idea to make certain days special and give rare items away...if you play your cards right and have the coin. :>

Casino Menu (Obviously there will be more.)
Feeling Lucky? (Values and whatnot aren't final as I am just messing with stuff.)
It is a sad thing your adventure ended here!! (Coins would obviously be used here, unless people want a currency revamp)
Luck is on MY side. (I have too much money though, for test purposes.)

Yeah. The game above uses a table in the database to keep track of games played and uses some code to shuffle a deck and then take to parts of the card array to decide what card it is and display it as its png image.

I'll send you some more stuff, Lunaria. Might find some of it interesting or whatever.

It has been awhile since I actually updated the download but it should be updated in a week or so.

A Kingrayon's Tale is a short story off of my main big trilogy called Dimension Project. Kingrayons are the focus of the story. Sara is one of the main characters who used to have a normal life in 2077 until disaster came and took her literally to another world. And she has been changed forever - literally as a Kingrayon. A humanoid experiment that combines several DNA of random creatures into one creature of extreme power. Through the use of Powernite, they have the ability to manipulate matter and dimensions. Giving them the power to shape shift into different creatures.

I'll edit this thread with more details. Should you be interested in a futuristic science fiction that is well worth a good read, click here and enjoy!
Here is the original thread over at SMWC. Much more detailed.

I also have another story which is the main book but that's even older and I want to update it again before releasing any download for it. Unless you want to request it then you can PM me here. Enjoy!

Yeah, as I've seen in the questions forum, currently there's no other way to get them other than an administrator with PMA access. Although me being me, I believe in lots of moderator panels and scripts. So if I were to work on this system, there would be some GM panels and stuff.

Probably if I were to work with frog coins, perhaps you can earn them after defeating a boss? Maybe after some special event that you can do every other month or so in the RPG system. Maybe you can find them after killing a rare enemy! There's plenty of ideas I have.

Edit: Here's an old table of NPCs. Although it doesn't show all the important columns I'd like to show as I haven't edited this in awhile.
Adding them. This is still needing updated to match the new system too but it is a start.

The trailer looks pretty nice. I may have to give it a try after my last two weeks of college. Then I can play a lot more hacks and stuff.

Where we were over 4000 years ago.

It was indeed a sad time for the world. For 4000 years, a great terror has plagued the world. Sadness was widespread. All because no one had...*gasp*...the Internet.

So rise up, Board2, for you have what many have not in the past. Can you imagine a world where there's no AC for 3000 years? I can not without fear mine would break down due to the curse. There was no ROM hacking, there was...old. People hoped that one day they would be spared from this...old.

Now it is 2012. People are worrying about the end of the world. Well, people did not worry about the end of...old. Instead they rejoiced over the new...the Internet. I ask you all, are you prepared for...the new?

There's something waiting past 2012 and it is glorious. So rise up and post, Board2, because if you don't, you will revert to this age...and be cursed forever. Don't let darkness and old win!

old* - anything that I don't want to do. Aka, some silly random thing I made up probably.

I hate double posting so someone please fix that after I post, okay?

For some reason, I decided to mess with the calender and went to -2012, you can see that in another thread I posted before this post. In other news, I worked on my card game again. I need to work more on my game document. At least I can use the one I did last semester and just edit it to match this card game. Then next semester I will go to Business of Games. This semester is almost over!

I am also going to try to save up for a decent car over the Summer. I really do need to stop depending on rides and stuff. At least I've been that lucky I guess. I am also lucky my job is like within walking distance as it saves gas.

That calender sure can go back far as it can also go into the future. A shame it isn't accurate about me living for over another 2000 years.

To be honest, I am not exactly sure but all I care for is one that works well and gets me from point A to B without problems. So as long as it doesn't breakdown often and at least looks decent, it is okay for my first car.

I got some money saved so I am probably going to get one in about a month. The only thing I still have to work out is my worrying I'd drive too careful and seem suspicious. I don't know why but that's just one of my fears I guess. While I am not the type that drives very slow or fast, heck not even the type that freaks out over someone else's driving, I still fear I may make some mistake. Eh, I guess it is silly to think too much about.

Well, it probably is true, I have lived this long. Another 2000 wouldn't hurt.

Besides, I want to watch my story unfold. Events in 2080 should be interesting! In the year 4000, Stark turns 2012 so I thought that was interesting. Perhaps that is the true end of the world? We may never know.

Welcome to the forum oldies and newbies.

There is cake in the fridge for any and all who posts, enjoy your stay! <3

*Cake_gone.jpg*

Please don't lie to the poor people here, I have looked in the icebox and I see no cake or coke... :_:

Oh, Luna didn't lie. I have had cake and it was delicious. But I SWEAR I didn't eat it all.
(I literally did have cake, it was my step mom's birthday today.)

Anyways...
Hi there, Lazlo Falconi. I hope you continue to enjoy your stay and posting!

Hmm, I might have to check it out and whatnot. I am definitely open to suggestions as I don't know that much about cars and I really haven't driven all that much. All I do know is that money is somewhat tight for me and I'd like to get the best deal possible but who knows, maybe I'll get lucky.

Bah, I forgot my password or I would have replied sooner with my phone!

Don't worry, coding with PHP is what I love most. One thing I've always wanted to do was to work on something for someone other than myself. It is much more challenging that way. Plus it gives me more experience.

Whether or not I get to do anything, I'll still keep posting and such to keep activity flowing. I think I am already starting to do just that...I think. Plus I got my own system to work on so I have plenty to keep me busy. That and a whole trilogy to work on. All 10k pages of goodness. (estimated)

Oh no, you fool! What have you brought upon us? It is the end of all we know! True story, the world and everything came from one source and is being divided over time. We didn't come from anything but one original creature made up of every creature. Are we as divided as we can be? Nope, the cycle continues. It is a conspiracy!

*insert more made up stuff he seen on a pizza box here*

As we all know, pizza boxes don't lie! Why would they? Except for that one time one typoed for me to cook my pizza for 20 hours. Seriously, who would overlook that?

Looks like I am almost done with all finals.

I managed to overlook the fact that my final project is due today instead of next Tuesday which had me a bit worried so I worked on it a bit yesterday and managed to complete in within 2 hours. I would have had more time but I stupidly bought a new game recently and spent most of the morning playing it.

Then this evening I learned one more thing. It is due by MIDNIGHT TODAY, not yesterday. So yeah...haha, I didn't exactly do it last minute. Take that somewhat procrastination. I swear I end up coming with better ideas under last minute conditions.
