If they wont be continued anyway, can I please have those hacks then? It would be such a waste for those two games to never see the light of day, you know.

Unfortunately, I don't think we should share any existing roms or ips patches of RM6Innocent or Skype. Doing so would insult the creators even more. Even ROCKMAN2IPS and RHDN took them down. I'm not sure if RM2IPS even has uploaded it after the leak... You can however, check some YT videos, for example Shinryu's walkthrough. Of course, if someone sends you an ips or a zipped rom or whatever, without anyone knowing, that's another story.

EDIT: But I did some searching. There are two ips patches flying around in the clouds. It's actually 'something' right? So Google them, this 'give me ips' situation is not that 'awful'. You might want to 'box' them.

Thanks. I managed to find them.
Also, I found out that I sadly cannot edit any Rockman 6 hack or even the original unmodified Rockman 6, because MegaFLE X ends up crashing whenever I try to open a Rockman 6 ROM, no matter if patched/edited or not.

Overflow


And I have no idea how I can possibly fix that problem.


Do not even try editing these hacks... And you can edit the offsets set in megafle.dat to fix this, but...

Actually, I can't, because I don't know how.
Also, I really wanted to finish those hacks (at least in terms of level designs), since the original creators wont because of Based Ririka.
Likewise, I also want to finish MegaMan Forever at least in terms of level designs, but sadly, that wont work on MegaFLE X either.

Borderline: If you don't want to finish your game, at least give other people the possibility to finish it for you. That way, it's a win-win situation for everyone!
...well, for everyone except people who hate videogames, of course.


Yes, but if the creators wanted someone to finish their hacks, they wouldn't have removed the games from everywhere, and most likely would've shared some source code or something. They didn't, so...

Or alternatively, use a different GFX set with the same values and edit the values at
61D0: 1E001E0000001E001E (1E to new GFX set)

Uhm...there is no Enemy Editor avaible for Scene Screen Mode...
Also, did the GFX set for the question mark change during the transition from Improved1.3 to Improved2.1 as well?


Simply open it up when editing a stage. And maybe it did, I dunno. I edited my own question mark because I thought it's unused (lol), and that caused this problem for me.

Uhh... Don't switch to Scene Screen Mode. You can only modify GFX sets without SSM, or with a hex editor. And actually, ALL stages share ALL GFX sets, even the Robot Master Introductions are using these GFX sets and stuff. Keep that in mind. There are also some stages that are share SBD banks, Wily stages for example. Wily Intro cutscene also shares tilesets with Hard. And etc. etc. etc...

Try applyling this... It fixes GFX Set 1E's values, and sets 1E to be used by the Doc intros. Make sure you make a backup first, because this patch was made using my hack, but I've checked the patch file with a hex editor, it shouldn't corrupt anything.

You can still grab a hex editor and edit text.
I worked on an MM1 gameboy hack before, and oh my god, I did mostly everything with a hex editor to edit scroll layout, uh, tiles and stuff.
Why? Because that was what I had to do, because the editor was totally incomplete. Maybe I should continue working on it again later. I have not even completed Crimson yet, and I don't have the time to do it either...

Well, that is really complicated. You have limited space for names, maybe Kuja could tell you how to move the the text to a free space or something. I do know however, how to swap the weapon names for bosses and some minor stuff.
If you'd list the names here, I could make a patch that changes the weapon names for you, I think. Not necessarily with full names because of the limitations. Maybe replacing 'Rush Marine' and 'Rush Jet' with 'RJ' and 'RM' would free up some text space. I dunno.

Hmm and here I was hopefully waiting for that or a better demo in december.
Keep us informed, your hack has me highly interested.
Also the best hack I played was yours even though its a demo and development...
I liked it over anything else I laid my hands on.

I've been following the Sonic Hacking Contest 2015 this whole week (And I'm watching the results stream right now ), so no progress was made... [AND THE REST WAS DELETED]

Okay... The 'snake tail animation' for the Giant Snake is maybe one of the strangest things in the game. Shadow Man's and Snake Man's stages have been swapped, the animation was moved to Snake Man's stage, but it still was reading TSA #80-85 from Shadow Man's stage. O.o
I couldn't figure this out until I finished Shadow Man's stage.
I assume the code does something like X + (LevelNo*2000) to read the data, but I'm lazy to look into it and it's working now anyway.

BTW, Chrome, Firefox and IE doesn't seem to like my signature here. Opera however does. Weird. Maybe I should simplify it.

What do you mean by that, when I look at your signature and the links you had in it.
It worked fine on all 3 browsers, even the old broke down win xp sp2 ie6 on my jobs computers viewed it fine.

Vista IE7 also displays it fine, if it works in IE6 and IE7 then I think it's just an issue on Zieldak's side.
But what was the point of having a signature that used 29 different images anyway? Now it's only 4, and it's fine.

I read something on romhacking.net that IPS can store the whole ROM inside it anyway.

Yep, under a specific size, but it doesn't really matter when we are talking about NES ROMs. You just have to use an empty file as the unmodded rom, and a patched rom as the modded when creating the IPS file. You have created an IPS file that has the whole ROM file in it. You can now either patch an empty file with it, or remove the unneeded data with a Hex editor, creating a working ROM file.
However, I dunno if it can be considered as a ROM this way or not. It may not be an actual ROM, but it still is.
