1. Salutations

Sup? I wanna first say, that I am semi new to the Rom Hack of Super Mario RPG. I messed around with Lazy Shell in the past and it is a really challenging program.

For now, I use it for tweaks and enhancements which is what this hack is mostly about.

2. Super Mario RPG: Super Edition

As stated before this is a Super Mario RPG that mostly showcases tweaks and enhancements in the game.

-New Character Palettes (Hence Super Flower Mario)
-Enhanced and New Specials (Mario Fireballs dealing damage with all parties & Peach Heals & Boosts Party Defense + Attack and etc.)
-New Items Edited around Mushroom Kingdom
-Harder Enemies & Bosses
-Level Up Maximum 50 (Trying to shoot to 99 or 100)
-New True Super Weapons for ALL characters (available by finding a secret room near the end of the game.)

3. Plans for additional stuff to add in game

-Additional/Secret Bosses
-Improved Menu Interface
-Extra & New Areas to explore
-Alternate Final Boss (If possible, but knowing the capabilities of Lazy Shell, anything possible).


I am in the process of doing the tweaks as stated in #2.
I know there are a lot of active Super Mario RPG remaining hackers which is why I am sharing this.
Originally this was gonna be a private hack of mine, but maybe I could get some assistance and turn this into an awesome expansion type of hack for everyone to enjoy.

Thanks for this, I had no idea where to start first originally with Lazy Shell because there was so much to do and learn within it, I'll keep a copy of this guide saved in a document. Thanks again!

Downloaded the final release from your forum Darkkefka.
Gonna be playing in a little bit, I'll update as I go through the game if I spot any bugs or glitches.

Also I do ask..
What is the playtime length of this game?
I am just curious, because I been playing a lot of hacks lately that been a bit short, I am just hoping something awesome like this isn't as short as well.

I first off wanted to thank you for making this game.
This was a game that I dreamed of dedicated to the Axem Rangers
and you made that happened.

I downloaded and patched the v2.0 version and played it.

I'm currently at the Ship and about to fight Johnny.
Before I do, I am training my party up a bit to level up.

Also, before I get back in the game, I would like to report the
bugs that I encountered and I'm not sure if anyone else experienced the same either.


List of Bugs

*Pause menu and checking certain parts of the menu, such as Stats and Equip,
randomly freezes the game. Causing the cursor to vanish and be stuck in the menu.

*Equipping any weapon or armor freezes the game 1 out 3 times.

*Froggystick Weapon is sold at Marrymore before Green is met.
I figured, this was more of placement error and should be a weapon for Yellow instead.
As I only had Red and Yellow before I reached the ship. This made the boss battle,
slightly challenging with no weapon for Yellow.

The rest of the glitches should be noted in the READ ME file. Other than this, this
game is boss and is awesome!

To the people still playing this game, I STRONGLY recommend keeping savestates (preferally set up a save and load state
hot key on your joypad of keyboard) and make use out of it. I saved my game from
random menu freezing multiple times.

I'll update as I go in the game.

There's a bug which I have to start all over now.

It's when you reach the underground part after Geno's forest.
After you reach the part with the 3 pipes and the blue pirana 3 headed plant at the end and attempt to go back in the previous pipe (tried exiting from the underground part to buy some items), the game would play Nimbus Music with a black screen.

I am using the 1.36 emulator as well.

It seems like the pipe works as a one way. If you tried re-entering, the game freezes and thinks I warped somewhere else.

I hope this makes sense.
I can provide screenshots of the exact pipe if you need it.

I have recently heard about that error, and I'm working on a new patch that will fix that glitch, among other things. So yes, I do know what you're talking about.

But until I'm done with that patch, you can still keep playing. It shouldn't force you to start over, it will just keep you from going backwards in that level. If you're having trouble beating the bosses after this area and you're desperate for level-ups, just fight the various enemies in the area that are available. There is a healer after the glitched up area, so you can heal as necessary. And as far as items go, Putrid Piranhas can drop Maple Syrups and Gloombas can drop Gold Shrooms.

Though I savestate when I went backwards, I was lucky enough to make backup savestate slots after I beaten a major boss, so all isn't lost.

Just gonna have to start back before I entered the forest area.

Great to hear a patch is coming soon and thanks for the advice.

I am really enjoying this game and I have to say, this is the best Super Mario RPG I ever played!.

Just a couple of question unrelated to the bugs/glitches.

1) Is this storyline like a fan made prequel of Super Mario RPG and a side story how the Axem Rangers formed?
I really liked how each member met each other and seeing a few characters like Jinx and Torte starting to form and meet each other too.

2) Will Mario be in this game as bonus boss or something? Or is he completely scrapped from the game? That would be so cool to have Mario a secret boss or something.

Btw, I love that NES Easter Egg at booster tower.
The Sprite Mario caught me off gaurd and that was genius how you implemented that!
