ok, first of all id like to thank anyone and everyone that can help me out. im very new to lazy shell editor and know almost nothing about it but im trying to learn. my problem is im trying to create a warp from bowsers castle in the first room at the start of the game to the mushroom kingdom castle throne room, but i have know idea how to create the event script for it. ive tried messing around with it but i havent been successful. can anyone help me please? thank you all

oh thank you very much that does help but i may have forgot to mention that i ment like a warp trampoline to mushroom kingdom castle. doesnt that require and even script?

ok i somewhat understand that and i did all that, i got my warp to work not the way i wanted to though. 2 problems. one the animation for when you jump on the springboard doesnt go off. instead i have to jump on the spring board and jump up to activate the warp. and when i do i here the mushroom kingdom music but its just a black screen. is there anywhere i go to find a tutorial and learn everything all about the lazy shell editor?

thank you very much everyone. thank you yakibomb. you've helped out alot. im glad this community is so helpful. i hope to become a great programmer/scripter. i wanna learn all about the lazy shell editor. smrpg is one of my fav games. and once i learn how to successfully utilze all the elements of lazy shell editor im going to make a full game. not just a few modifications. but im going to start from scratch on all the maps and make it completely original. thank you all again for the help

right. yeah this program is supper complex. especially when it comes to scripting. like now i have a warp trampoline. i got the animation to work where it bounces you up but now i cant get the actual warping part to work. the screen just flashes black and nothing happens. i had the warping part down but not the animation but now i have the animation but not the warping part. i thought i had it down early but i guess not. the thing i dont understand the most are like bits, and the mem thing. i store mem@ that kind of thing. i dont really understand that. that looks like the hardest part. sorry for all of the questions but im trying to learn all i can about lazy shell so i know how to operate it properly. thank you very much

i have a question. I have been playing this hack, which by the way is fun and challenging! but i got to the axem rangers but 1: the battle is glitchy because they attack me first then they start talking in the battle. i kill a few of them then axem red starts to say "enough" like you've defeated all of the axem rangers and i cant win the battle it glitches up and stops. 2: there is something wrong with me lol. has anyone had this problem?

Because you have to select the rom to load so find the rom Super Mario RPG on your computer and it should load it

Hey axem i tried version 1.36 and it still does the same thing to me. i dont see how or why this is happening but it is and i dont know how to fix it.

Hi everyone. I have a few (well rather alot) questions about the Lazy Shell editor and how to use it. First and this is the biggest problem I have is understanding how to the scripts work. I have no idea how to build a correct script of anything weather it be a battle script, action script or event script. I just don't understand how to works. If I could understand how that works I would be able to tackle the rest of the editor.

My next question is: after the beginning scene were bowser captures peach and take her to his castle how can I write a script to make Mario appear at a different location then in the first room of bowsers keep?

My final question (for now at least) is: How can I make it where I can do previews of the my work in the first room of bowsers keep. (where Mario first appears at) because when i make lets say a battle in that room, when i go to preview the rom there is no location for Mario so when I click preview and it bring the emulator up its just a black screen with that music playing. Thank you for anyone and anyone that can answer my questions. It is much appreciated

well i managed to get past it. i had to cheat though. i had to go into the lazy shell editor and edit the stats of the piranha buds to make them easier to beat. i had to kill them before they could use there moves. sorry for cheating and editing your hack. i probably should have asked first...

Oh wow thank you Axem. That's a lot of information but its very helpful! also on my last question what I ment was you know when you go to preview a rom and in the big white box there is usually coordinates for Mario and the location of the room he is in? well when I go to preview that room there isn't coordinates so as a result when I preview it and the emulator plays the preview its just a black screen. but the 2nd room of bowsers keep and so forth previews just fine. Any reason for this?

That helps thank you Axem. But once again a problem has arisen... At least for me. Well I need major help with the event scripts. your broke it down a lot for me last time but I have no idea how to do the thing I want. What I want is to write a script so when mario walks into the second room of Bowsers Keep the magikoopa will display dialogue and in gauge in battle. I know thats a fairly simple script but im not sure how to make it work.

Thank you so much for all this information! The only problem I have is when I tested the event the magikoopa is invisible but the rest of the script works fine... Oh! and the script repeats its self in an endless loop. I'm not sure what I did wrong.

I have only been here for about a year or less but I must say this board is the best iv'e ever come across for ROM hacking. This Board makes everything Rom hacking related so much easier. It will be sad to see this Board go because iv'e learned so much from it and met a lot of regular comers to this sight that have helped me through my goal to master The Lazy Shell Editor for Super Mario RPG in the Super Mario RPG Hacking thread. I am not sure what to do about keeping The Board from being shut down except to advertise. I think if we advertise The Board on the Internet we might be able to spark interest in other ROM hackers and programmers who haven't noticed The Board. Its a long shot, but if everyone who still cares about The Board chips in and tries there their best to get the word out we might just be able to save it! If anyone at all thinks this is a good idea in anyway, shape, or form please PM me and we will put together a plan of action. Thank you for your time.
