We all know that Windows Explorer sucks at copying files, especially how it randomly pauses in the middle of an operation (oh noes! The source file is READ ONLY!), then dies after one file fails to copy.

So I was wondering, what's a really good program to copy a bunch of files from one place to another?

You really really do NOT want to use XCOPY. It dies after a large number of files, which is far worse than Windows Explorer.
(at least it behaved that way in Windows 98 and Windows 2000...)

Use FCEUXD. That way you can set the scanline number correctly so the tiles will match up properly.

Nintendulator is the most accurate NES emulator.

The game is waiting for the bottom of the L tile to collide with sprite #0. It is willing to wait as long as it takes. If you delete that part of the tile, it will still keep waiting, even if it never happens.

If you really want a "NES" version of VS SMB, mapperhack it to mapper 3 (CNROM), hack the palettes, then hack the insert coin code.

Download

Made by me. Based on the famous "Hymn To Aurora", composed by the demo group Sync.
It's more of a port than a remake.
Gratuitous abuse of the DMC channel abounds.

It's about 4:14 long before it loops.

No crashes for me, I'm using NEZplug 0.9.4.8. Which NSF Winamp plugin are you using?

I used Famitracker.
The original song (and this version too) uses sampled chords being played back at different frequencies. They get played back through the NES's DMC channel. The NES can't resample the chords like a mod player can, so I have separate samples for every chord.

Oh yeah, it also helps that the original composition basically only used 3 channels.

I've played through Super Mario RPG on the virtual console, with a Hori Pad controller. The Gamecube button positions royally suck for playing Super Mario RPG, but I played completely through the game. I think I saw a few glitches in a few spells (like Mega Drain), but nothing to affect playability.

It has limited savestates, in that you can return to the Wii Menu in the middle of a game, then go back to the game exactly where you left off.

Nintendo doesn't store the games very efficiently, each game has its own copy of the emulator and everything.

You can redownload deleted games for free.

So yeah, while napping, I had this crazy dream.

I was playing some version of MC Kids where you could press select at the Title Screen to enter an options page. At the options page, you could switch between Mick, Mack, and two additional female characters.
I start the game, then see this cutscene featuring a lion named "Asgan", who is an obvious ripoff of a famous Narnia character (and I even notice this in the dream).
Then it starts playing Galaxy Man's Theme from Megaman 9, but in the dream I think it's from Contra.
Finally, gameplay begins, except it turns into a first person shooter where you play as Jessie from Team Rocket, and shoot rockets out of a half-folded Laptop computer.

I woke up laughing.

Wait... There's a secret area right above where you get the item in level 2? How come I never found this?

Found this game from a Somethingawful thread, and now I simply must spread this everywhere else.
It's a nice cute kiddy platforming game with wholesome 8-bit goodness. There are also locations where you can press X and Evert, which slightly changes the game mechanics, so you can now walk on clouds.
Your goal is to collect all the jewels and save the princess.

Wait till you reach level 4.

Privateer did cheat codes right, put them in plain sight in the Options screen, but make you fail any missions if you have them turned on.

Use Data Breakpoints.

Wait for the game to read from the address in question, then follow the ASM code until you see it read the dictionary string.

So yeah, for a while, I've been working on a Level Viewer for Zelda - Oracle of Ages for Game Boy Color.

So here's the level viewer if you want to play with it, and see how the levels are arranged and what tilesets build them up.

Screenshots:

Screenshots are somewhat old, they don't include the indicator on the minimap
