R-Type is a game that set the standards for side scrolling shooters. It had a unique force weapon that could attach and detach from your ship, serve as a second blaster on the screen, and could also be used as a shield to protect your ship from oncoming attacks. It also had intense alien boss battles where your ship would take on an enemies the size of the screen. This awesome game had ports made for several different consoles, but somehow never made its way over to the NES. What we got instead is a Japanese clone called Magic Dragon. Although Magic Dragon is a blatant ripoff of R-Type, the graphics were horrible in comparison. The ship was an ugly yellow, and the enemies were nothing more than genetic robots. This hack changes all of that, and turns Magic Dragon into the game it was trying to copy, R-Type. The R-9 ship was added back in place of the awful yellow one. All graphics, enemies, and bosses were changed as well. Download here.

I appreciate that. I'm always going to try to release a rom publicly every now and then. And I still help out any that asks. I would love to work with homebrew makers to spice up their graphics. Most homebrew I've seen, while impressive, usually lacks in the graphics deptartment. I'm always willing to help out anyone when I can, if time permits me to. |

They look nothing alike, and are clearly different sizes. That post was also made after I just made a post about giving a free copy of the game for free to celebrate my 100th repro sold, so he obviously can't read either. I don't need advice from this guy. The sad thing is, I'm pretty sure this guy is an admin on romhacking.net, maybe even on here as well. I'd run circles around this guy as an admin, but I think I'll stick to actually contributing to the community. Maybe he should go study more rom hacks, as he clearly doesn't know what he's doing. |

This hack was made at the request of Tramsam500. It makes graphical and gameplay changes to make the game more enjoyable. The text was changed to look nicer. The title screen was enhanced. Marty now has a red vest like he does in the movie, as well as blue sleeves. The picture of Marty and his siblings was horrible, and also enhanced to look nicer. There is a new ending as well. Also, gameplay elements such as infinite lives, and an instant win at Lou's Cafe, make the game less difficult so the gamers can enjoy the main game. Download here.
