Before I help you with donating my SMB3 levels from mine and English1stud's hack, what are the level themes for each world KP9000?

Rather than "tomorrow*", don't you mean "today"?

I feel sorry for anyone who has to travel today, especially via plane; I'm sure the security will be twice as unreasonable and invasive as usual (and perhaps twice as ineffectual).

Yeah, US has been receiving threats. Anyone also remember flight 93?

So there are two editors, Roy and Solar Magic Advance. Wouldn't it be better for those two people working on their respective editors to combine their code to make one full-blown editor like Lunar Magic for SMW? Is that possible?

Whats with the MLP memes, why are they here on the Internet? Does 4Chan have something to do with it?

On Wednesday, October 5, 2011, two days after my birthday, Steve Jobs just died. He was an innovator, an man with a genius mind. He founded Apple and made all these cool products such as the iPod and the Macs. RIP Man!

Today, many websites are blacking out against SOPA and PIPA. SMWCentral, Wikipedia, Reddit, and others to name a few are joining the protest. What are your attitudes about those two bills?

Eh, had to convice a friend of mine to have his board offline to join the strike against SOPA and PIPA. Think going "blackout", which is going offline is the best solution?

I anticipate those bills will be killed soon on the 24 of January by the US Senate due to the efforts of the masses. If it does get killed, ROM Hacking is saved for now and some sites wont be closed down for no apperant reason due to the vaugeness of the bill.

@Kiokuffiib11 I don't know what you're talking about but if you're talking about SMB3, then there are only 2 known level editors for SMB3-SMAS. M3I (Mario 3 Improvement) and SMB3WS (Super Mario Bros. 3 WorkShop). Both of them cannot insert .M3L files into the SNES rom and cannot edit level headers. Most of the objects that were used in the SNES version are not compatable with the NES version such as upside down airship pipes.

I most likely to edit the NES version using SMB3WS, then save as .M3L. Open my .M3L with my hex editor and copy/paste all Objects (ignoring the 9 headers) and Enemies and paste it onto the SNES rom. It's immediately done by scratch by removing every level in the game and create a custom level rom offset.

Have you forgotten that there are four known Mario editors. Aside from M3I and SMB3WS, SMB3 Discombobulator also can edit an NES SMB3 ROM (although not very user friendly but doesn't have the problem of corrupting other levels if too many objects and enemies) and Reuben requires a special SMB3 ROM. Aside from that, good luck with the porting.

Hello, I'm quite new to hacking SMB3. I need to ask some questions before starting my own project.

1. Is it true that I have to be extremely cautious about accidentally overwriting other levels by using too many objects in one level?
2. Is it possible to hack SMAS with SMB3 Workshop?
3. Is SMB3 Workshop still being developed to provide further support and accidental-overwriting-proof?
4. Is it OK if I remove 1 3-byte object to add a 4-byte one?

1. You do. You are working with limitations. Go over the overall level's byte sizes poses a risk to overwrite other levels.

2. It is. Insectudel has documents about it.

3. IDK bout that.

4. Depends.

Damn, this rivals the scope of Darkdaiz's hacking. If your hack gets released, Im sure that it will replace Mario Adventure. Im anticipating what ill see next.

Did you use Reuben or SMB3 Workshop to make these levels?

There must be a Super Mario Bros. 3 fever going around all of sudden!

A lot of SMB3 in the last week or two!

Interesting hack there.

Actually, its about a month. We had SMB3 Raneskae (forgive me if I mispelled that), SMB3Mix, and now this along with some demos of Darkdaiz's old projects in the uploader. And Ill be posting my new SMB3 hack in the ROM hacking Discussion thread because Im still working on it. Anyways, I may do a playthrough of this hack.

Its been 4 years for me since I last hacked SMB and a few months since I was last here posting. One thing that came up in my mind is to learn how to edit the SMB Title Screen using BetaWorld's SMB title screen editor. Problem is, its in japanese (im assumming romanji since japanese programs in an OS that has english as the default language translates into gibberish) and I need to know how to use it.

I uploaded a SMB Title screen editor for you, it has an English readme (Made by AP) on how to use it. This editor won't turn your title screen green either. Study the readme, it has what symbol does what & you'll be good to go, I used this to make some great title screens when I hacked SMB, hope it helps ya's...
