Hey, I haven't been up to really anything in a long while, so if you need any help with anything graphically ever, just give me a shout and I'll see what I can do |

Posted by DahrkDaiz Ew... Seriously though, Congrats and good luck with everything. Hell, I personally would rather see you live out a happy life with a family than finish some SMB3 editor. Take your time. If it happens, it happens. If life gets in the way, then it's probably not a bad thing at where you are in life. |

Yeah, I meant a working SMB2 editor, and I totally forgot about that Ninja Gaiden one... I wonder if it is any good. |

I can't believe that there aren't any threads about this yet. From what I have read, the 3D effect is amazing, though you have to be positioned in a "sweet spot" in order for it to work. The good news is that if you're sitting in a position where said sweet spot is impossible, there's a 3D slider which will allow you to shut it off.
Other improvements over the DS/DSi line are Gamecube (maybe even better) quality graphics, along with an analog "slider" (It's a disk that you slide around instead of a joystick). There's a digital movie download service in the works. Also it boasts the ability to take 3D photographs. Some of the games that were on the e3 floor to demonstrate are, but are not limited to: Kid Icarus: Uprising Ocarina of Time 3D Mario Kart 3D Star Fox 64 3D Animal Crossing Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell: Chaos Theory Nintendogs +Cats Riiiiiidge Raaaaacer Metal Gear Solid: Snake Eater 3D Also, this is really rough, and probably nowhere near as awesome as how the 3DS looks, but I took a screen from Kid Icarus: Uprising and turned it into one of those "cross eye" 3D images, in order to get a taste of what's to come. (It is totally easier to look at if you open it in a new window or tab.) See trailers and a full list of the demo games here: http://e3.nintendo.com/ |

Faceball 2000 for the Gameboy.
All I got to say about it is that I need to find 15 more people with that game and figure out how to hook them all up together. I used to play the crap out of that game as a kid, but eventually I just forgot all about it. Then one day recently, I was reading something about the game Midi Maze (which Faceball was a remake of) and it all came flooding back. |

Yeah, so I'm willing to guess that some of the games presented will actually be developed, but I got a feeling some of them won't make it out to the market. I mean as much as they showed OoT 3D, the way they've been making it sound in interviews is that there's a chance it could also become a different Zelda game all together.
Just remember when the Wii came out, and all the titles that got announced that never saw the light of day. Like Project H.A.M.M.E.R. and Sadness. |

Okay, so after watching E3, and seeing the Kinect in action, a big question came to my mind. How will they be able to design more than just "casual" games for the thing. So I decided that it would be fun if we tried to brainstorm our way over the possible hurdles of designing a control scheme for different genres of games, using the notion of "your body is the controller".
So here's how it will work. I will propose a game genre, or a basic idea. After that, I will post the first hurdle, and then answer it myself. Then I will post the next hurdle that we have to cross. That is where you come in. You can do a couple of things from there. 1. Propose a solution for the current hurdle and post what you think the next one is. 2. Argue the previously answered hurdle, state why you don't think it will work, and if possible give a better solution. We win if we run out of hurdles. We lose if the only answer we can come up with to a hurdle is using a controller. One thing to keep in mind, not only can the Kinect use your movements, but it can also recognize speech. First game: The Swords and Sorcery Adventure Game! Pretty basic idea. A 10+ hour game where you play a sword wielding hero who has to defeat an evil wizard and his minions. First hurdle: Basic combat. Proposed solution: If you raise your left fist in front of your body, it will cause the character to raise his shield to defend. Swinging your right arm in various directions will cause the character to attack with his sword. Next hurdle: Selecting inventory. |

Posted by Trax As well as in Link's Awakening if you assume that each button represents one of his hands. You can equip the sword and shield to either B or A, so yeah. |
