First off Mineyl, that overworld is really pretty, I like it. Secondly, is that the Rondo of Blood 1-up icon? If so, even more awesome. |

Hah. DD makes something impressive related to SMB3 and a bunch of people ask for asinine features to be added in? No way, that never happens.
Seriously though, I really don't have much to add to this thread other than support. The editor you're working on is pretty brilliant honestly, and should hopefully lead to some really nice and interesting hacks of SMB3, and if not, I'll try to make a crappy one with it. |

Andrew Charles Marsh.
If you want to go full name with my title and confirmation name (even though I no longer follow the religion) then: Andrew Charles Charles Marsh Esquire Fun Fact: As long as you don't have any other title, you can tag Esquire at the end of your name, it's totally acceptable. |

Holy crap! I think I just realized what this hack is. It took me a while.
I think I was working on a boss sprite for this at one point. If this is the hack I'm thinking of, then I was working on a Manhandla sprite for it at one point in my life. If not, then it was some other LttP hack that Dudeman was a part of. Here's some of the preliminary work I did on it, I remember ending up doing some more but I can't find it. |

I picked up Osmos seeing how it was only two bucks. It's a pretty fun game, I suggest spending the two dollars on it. |

Well I mean everyone needs at least 10 copies of DOOM.
But anyways, yeah, I like collecting NES games mostly. I mean when my budget actually permits me going out and buying stuff I don't need, one of the first places I go is a store called The Exchange that we have here. They usually have a pretty nice selection of NES stuff. |

QWRev Release 1 is out
It works with Quake 1 and 2. I haven't tested it out yet, but it's probably pretty cool. Original Source and download link |

So I just finished a playthrough of Resident Evil: The Darkside Chronicles, and I think I'm starting to notice that I would actually consider myself as a part of the dreaded "casual" gaming crowd. I'm also starting to notice that "gaming crowds" in general are bullshit, because of how I got to this point.
Now, keep in mind here, I'm not talking about being the kind of causal gamer that doesn't like hard games, in fact, I love a great challenge (I'm still determined to one day, actually beat Dragon's Lair II...). I'm starting to find that I have a hard time finishing a game that can't be beaten in a single sitting, or a couple at the most. Now, this doesn't include games that have online play, I can play those forever, just because I can pick it up and stop playing whenever I feel like it. I've found myself really drawn to on-rails shooters because of this though. They have always been my favorite arcade genre, but I'm starting to like ones on consoles more and more now. I think it's mostly because it's like watching a long interactive movie. I don't have to constantly keep breaking up the story, dragging it on for days, and even weeks. I can sit down, and enjoy a story that unfolds in a few hours. I think another big factor that comes into play is also the games that I grew up playing. I grew up playing games on the NES and in the arcade. Growing up, I didn't usually have the luxury of multiple sittings with a game. It was either, beat the game, or stop playing and play it all over another time. I don't think I ever really got out of that mindset. This is where the whole "gaming crowds are BS" thing comes into play though. I have a hard time playing more "hardcore" titles, because of growing up playing games that are, and let's be honest, much more hardcore. Honestly from the way I see it, being a "casual" gamer is actually pretty awesome, at least in the way I am. I get to experience more. I don't get stuck playing the same game forever, while a bunch of other great ones pass me up. So pretty much (because this is dragging on), for those who don't like to read: I can't play a 60+ hour game anymore, and I'm finding out it's actually a lot more fun that way. Anyone else care to weigh in on how they consider their gaming habits? |

Posted by MathUser Hey bite me, I do what I want. In all seriousness though. I am and always will be an artist as far as digital mediums go, so I'm going to continue to do stuff, just not this hack. Right now I'm working on some Left 4 Dead 2 stuff, and I'm considering doing something with Reuben when it comes out, but nothing anywhere near as serious as this project got. |

I'm not normally one to make feature suggestions on things, but when I was looking at this, one popped into mind. Seeing how you have infinite lives in it, I think it would be kind of fun (and shouldn't be too hard to do) to have a counter that displays how many times you've failed throughout the game. |

So someone decided to make Left 4 Dead, but how it would have been made in the late 80's. It's pretty fun, but super hard. I'm having a tough time being able to take down the Tank in the No Mercy finale...

I'd personally go with something like Photo Man myself. I mean granted, I guess it could be thought of a guy that takes photographs, but I mean they're called photographs because they use light to capture an image. |

Yeah, it's fullscreen. I haven't really tried making it windowed yet or anything, but there isn't really an option to do that. |
