Looking nice as usual Rockman. I'm looking forward to seeing what else you come up with. As far as my stuff goes, here's a sprite of Castlevania's #1 pretty boy
**EDIT** "Load screen", these will be more of a visual queue that you're going to a new area than anything in this hack. |

I dunno, the fact that you will be able to upgrade the mapper and expand the rom through the editor is cool, but I don't think it should be automatic. I'd say leave those two features as an option and leave it up to the person making the hack. I do really like the idea of starting with blank levels though. |

I dunno, due to possible size constraints, I think this is the best I'm going to be able to make this one...
I guess something like that could work |

/shameless self promotion
Seriously though, I'm all about the idea or drawing things out first. That especially came in handy for making the design for the new screen data in Chorus. I also do that if I'm coming up with an original character or enemy. I don't remember if I still have it, but if I do, I got a ton of level ideas and concept art for Chorus stashed away. Drawing out your ideas isn't just a good idea for Mario games, it's a good idea for just about anything. |

Just putting in a request for Cirvante to change his vote from me to optomon. He's the one that does all the cool shit, I'm more just the voice and pretty face of the team, and by that I mean metaphorical pretty face. |

Everything works at least enough to start designing levels. Here's what's new: GFX obviously Walking off the side of the screen takes you to a new room Walking through a door takes you to a new section of the castle Killing the boss doesn't end the level anymore |

I'll expand on it a little bit when I work on the actual level, but this is the start of the catacombs. |

Ravaging Rome is soooo conformist...
**EDIT** Hmmm... note to self. Ravaging Rome would be a fitting name for an Industrial Goth band. |

Because I'm feeling particularly not lazy right now any this board hasn't seen it yet, you guys get the good demonstration of the loading rooms. Loading rooms are categorized as a "special" type of room. We have an entire level set aside for these special rooms, and after the loading rooms, we have space for 5 more types. One of which will be Shortcut rooms, if you've played SotN before, think of the keyhole rooms.
Here's how the loading rooms work. The player enters a door, after entering the door they go to the loading room. If they leave the way they came in, they go back to the door they entered, if they go to the other end of the hallway, they enter a new area. Essentially these are in place to be kind of cool, but also as a visual queue for the player so they know they are going to enter a new area of the castle. Because I'm feeling extra not-lazy, here's an added treat: This is what I'm working on for Dracula's 2nd form. |

Hooray, I think the reoccurring bosses are now done
Colors aren't set in stone, so don't even bother mentioning them, I have to see what CV3 will support before I even think about that. **EDIT** Pixelboobies **EDIT 2** I've been on a roll today |

Posted by setz Then DO IT as for me NES Castlevania 3 (in progress) Mega Man Super Mario Bros. Ms. Pac-Man GB/GBC Link's Awakening MGS: Ghost Babel (VR Missions) That last one will probably never happen, mostly because I have no idea where to start with finding level data. |

Guh... I needs me some of that. That game is like Castlevania on speed, I could have some fun designing levels for it. |

I mean Aeris isn't worthless, but you can survive without using her. The first time I played through that game I only really used her when when I didn't have a choice, besides one of Yuffie's Limit Breaks is a healing one, so you aren't totally left with your thumb up your ass.
As far as healing goes though, once I get to the point of the game where I find it, normally I just get the W-Item materia and then duplicate a bunch of Megalixers and various status changing items that way anyone can do the healing. Not saying I don't agree though, losing everything she had equipped is kind of a pain in the ass, you run the risk of losing some very nice stuff because of that. As far as Chocobo breeding goes, I never really had the patience for it. I've never done a play through of the game with Knights of the Round unless I cheated somehow. |

Posted by Grey Mario I mean it's possible to mod the hell out of the PC version. If you really wanted to you can put in higher quality models. (From an abandoned project someone was working on) Text editing is possible, and it's even possible to put in your own cut scenes because they are loaded from disc. I also know it's possible to put in new pre-rendered backgrounds, but it's like insanely difficult. |
