If you have a file, which has the sprite already changed, there's no need to insert it again. Simply make a new ips file, from a rom file, that contains the pony sprite.

You can also fix the camera shake in your file (sprite and other already done) directly at E8000 (no header) in hex.

This is a jump puzzle test, which will be included in the Zelda3 Parallel Universes, a hack started by SePH, as a spiritual sequel of Parallel Worlds.

The patch must be applied to the US Zelda3 rom, with no header. The new UPS patch format will be kind enough to tell you, if you are using the wrong original file and thus stop the patching. Freeware Ups patcher and Header remover/adder/verifier are included.

Note: the smc file and ups file must not have the same name and be in the same folder, since most emus auto soft-patch the file if the name of the two is the same, which can result in getting back to the original file. Simply rename or erase the patch after hard-patching to avoid this.

Your goal is to reenter the house and get the key. The file is a test of indoor jumping mechanics as well as the starting health of the player.

This is supposed to be released on Christmas, so you can assume it to be a late present.

The best. These are some awesome new gfx edits. I know how difficult it is to change the indoor walls (I was studying the gfx tiles and they are completely mixed, unallowing you to make big edits, but you did it).

When completed this game is surely to be one of the best Alttp hacks.

This is a mini collection of the 4 most complete and finished Zelda3 hacks (Parallel Worlds, Parallel Remodel, Goddess of Wisdom and Puzzledudes Quest). It does not include demos, unfinished games, severely bugged games, masterquests and other minor hacks.

It is a Wip acmlm release only. All games are using the new patching system much better than ips, and even better than ups, ninja etc.

All games are compatible with the US Alttp rom (NO header). This was quite the opposite before, since I was using an EU rom back then, when GoW was released. PW however was using an US headered rom back then. Plus all of the above were released as ips patches, allowing the user to patch it wrong.

The new patching system is a lot better. It does not require any program, since it is an autopatcher. A batch file is telling the exe what to do with the delta patch.

All you need to do is to put the original rom (US Alttp) into the same folder as the patch, rename it to: A link to the past, and click on the autopatcher. The new file will be autocreated (with the correct name, extension and crc). Nothing is overwritten. If anything goes wrong, the process is stopped, and nothing is corrupted; disallowing you to patch it wrong. (Read the included txt for more info).

Included (Doki patch creator if you should choose to make your own patch with this new format).

The goal of this collection was to bring all notable Alttp hacks together and make them compatible with one original file. Plus to present a new patcher which doesn't allow false patching.

I have to say it again - the best. Lately I've seen lots of progress on both upcoming Zelda3 hacks (Prophet of Chaos and Parallel Universes), and they both bring indoor gfx editing to another level.

This is another variation of the jumping test. This time your goal is to: get the Moonpearl.

Download
http://acmlm.kafuka.org/uploader/get.php?id=4371

Put the original Zelda3 Alttp past rom into the extracted folder. It must be the US rom, No header and a .smc file. RENAME it to: A link to the past. Then click on Jump test Autopatcher and the new file will be auto-created using the .delta patch.

If you use the wrong original rom (EU, J, US-headered), nothing is lost or corrupted. You will be informed of the checksum mismatch. If you dont rename the original rom to: A link to the past, you will be informed that the file: A link to the past was not found.

This really looks better now. You imported it so fast. Plus, the player has a feeling of actually jumping around on the edge of the universe.

While this is true, this patchers are Not exe autopatchers. This autopatcher is a batch file and can not contain a virus, nor the delta patch. The delta.exe on the other hand needs a cmd command line to be executed. All exe viruses on the other hand are usually individual exe files which execute on direct click.

In Parallel Remodel you can get a total of 20 heart containers plus one heart piece = 20 1/4 hearts (so one heart piece extra goes over the maximum). This is for the first quest. No list exist, but the complete guide and the maps for PR will get done in the near future.

The two heart pieces (pyramid area and the second in the waterfall cave were removed), since they produce glitches: two heartpieces can not coexist in one big area, the electric barrier and heartpiece sprite are also not compatible (breaking the barrier will make the heartpiece disappear on area trasit, if the heart piece is not picked up immediately = before transit). Same thing for 2 heartpieces, one will make the other disappear.

In the second quest, there are 9 and 3/4 before Ganon. The 3 additional heart pieces can be reach by abusing a semi glitch. After beating the second quest, restart the played game, and you will end up as a bunny in the dark world (this semi glitch can not be fixed), get the 3 heart pieces in the dark world without getting defeated and Save and quit your self out, since the area is quite limited, when in a bunny form.

-----------------

In Farore's cave in the Second quest. Go through the left wall (where the star is) and pick up 3 more hidden chests, hidden inside the blue bumps.

Then the second smith will appear, get sword2. In Draegors castle get shield2 and exit (Draegor is blocked). Get the sword4, and lots of rupees in the forest (left of the forest house there's a cave with 50 rupees under jars on one visit).

Get 99 arrows from the fairy and 2 blue potions (2 bottles possible) and go to Ganon directly.

And BTW I just started yesterday making maps too using 1200 by 1600 dot screencaps as raws.
reduzing to 25% and pasting together.

So far done:
- Lantern cave
- Kakariko small cave (missing one part as I just restarted the game and no bracelet yet).
- Kakariko big cave
- Guardhouse first floor.
- Village Church.
- Kakariko Loot room (you with 4 bombs & 5 arrows and 2 rupees).
- Shop left of Loot Room

Next:
- Finishing Guardhouse
- the 4 Light world dungeons (and misc caves).

Do you want the maps and raw stuff?

It is interesting for you to make maps. Keep doing them, and when they are finished, you can publish them normally. So I will get them then.

I just use a different approach. Decode the game via hex first and print screen from Hyrule Magic directly. Then paste together in excel (better navigation possible according to the big size of the overworlds). Second will be the dungeons, third is the misc (houses, caves etc).

This is looking great. Reminds me of that guide about Parallel Worlds with all those dungeons maps. Maybe these maps are quite neccessary for players with no orientation, since the maps in the game were removed, because of their bugged nature.

That's nice. So basically you are doing this by screen capturing while playing? I'm assuming with sprites and other layers turned off. Gluing this together manually seems like a lot of work, specially when in a big room.

Regarding the peg bumps. By default it is always blue up and brown down. This is how it is always displayed in the game editor. However, you might have some problems with that, since some areas can only be accessed when blue is down. And will be screen captured when down.

So I would suggest this default, blue is up and brown is down, of course if it is possible to make it this way.

Other problem can be the flashing floor in Impa's Ways, probably would work to put the emulation speed to very very slow, to capture the red floor.

The first time I actually see the sprites and opened chests in the maps, since they are only purple dots in the editor. Good to know that you've decided to make maps for the game, specially by using this long process. But it is worth it in the end, since my maps wont include sprites.

Chapter 4 was never finished. Also I am wondering, how you managed to finish the other chapters, since I've tested chapter 3 and it had a lot of bugs and a game paradox, so I thought it is not beatable.

You need to go back to the 1st room and place a bomb there (also on the right), the upper room (second room) is a trick (a dead end).

Yes, there is. Every game is specific. This is editable in hex, using the hex editor. Usually there is one byte or two bytes, which control the health. In A link to the past, there are two bytes at around 27000. Value is 18 18 = 3 hearts. 20 20 = start with 4 hearts, 28 28 = start with 5 hearts etc. So just need to calculate what value for 20 hearts. Collecting heart pieces or containers is NOP automatically.

You can actually control the entire starting srm. Nintendo made a custom sequence of bytes for Alttp, which starts the game with practically all items and 15 hearts. So you can also make Super Metroid start the game with high jump boots for instance. This is one byte only. Default is 00, edit is 01.

Complex values. Start the game with 444 rupees. This needs two bytes, to determine the value. Or values 00 to 07 = bottle (empty, with fairy, green, blue, red potion, bee) etc. So when you find the starting "srm" values, everything is possible. These values usually stand together cronologically. For instance in Alttp: once you find the bow, it follows as in the inventory, boomerang, hookshot etc, eventually comming to magic and health.

What do you mean? The game was tested multiple times on various emulators and consoles and it saves normally. It saves just like the original game. Even saves on real cart.

First srm - after obtaining the sword1 from uncle
Second srm - after rescuing Zelda
Third srm - after moving the Mantle
Fourth and fifth srm - after rescuing Zelda to the church
sixth srm - after beating Draegor (the only overworld srm)

When you stop playing, press Select and choose Save and quit, to save at one of the above points. (You can not save, if you dont reach the upper points). After Zelda is rescued to the church, you can save anytime.

I don't know where you are in the game. But it is impossible to save before obtaining the sword1 from uncle (Alttp game is hardcoded this way). However, in the Remodel, reaching the uncle is a lot lot easier, than in original Parallel Worlds.

I made the rout to the uncle as short as possible. You need to get the lamp, go through the cave system, arrive in the guardhouse, go downstairs into interrogation room and get the sword1 from uncle, to make it to the first save. (not possible to make it earlier on Parallel Worlds locked rom, since this would mean moving the uncle).
