It's not a bad thing to post a lot, in fact it is strongly encouraged, careful of bumps and the like though.
The purpose of the equipment is none as it stands now, except I think xkeepers goggles block all post layouts. Their was going to be an arena of sorts where board members could do battle, but it is defunct and not working.

One more thing, get rid of your plain text header, I'm surprised no one has done anything about it yet, but it is not allowed, the header is for your layout. If you want you can have a plaintext footer.

Oh ok, well thanks for the tip! Didn't know about that, and what exactly is a bump? I know it means replying something useless to get exp or something, but i heard one guy say something like 'Hey sry for the bump, i was just wondering if....' But his question was completely on topic... I noticed in the rules it said not to post in old topics unless you have something important to say... but I write in those occasionally when it's something interesting.. My messages aren't necessarily helpful, but they are usually questions or things of the sort.

lol I'm too paranoid! sorry.

Did you want an original weapon? If so, you'll have to mess with scripts.

All cutscenes, spells, etc. are controlled by scripts. Same goes for weapon attacks: they're controlled by a single animation script. What you'll have to do is find the animation script for the weapon you want, and change it to your liking.

Or, if you just want a weapon that looks and acts the same as an existing weapon, you'll have to replace that weapon and change the stats or something. Otherwise you'll be dealing with scripts. (DUMMYs are inoperable lumps of code, so replacing a weapon will be the best route no matter what you do.)

Warning, scripts are very complex for a beginner but are integral to just about every aspect of the game. The best thing you can do, besides ask specific questions, is to use existing scripts as reference.

I don't have any scripting experience, but what might be a simple scripting task is to change the pallete of the weapon when you use it. For example, the hammer--There are several hammer weapons in the game, but if you modify the script for a specific hammer, you could add a command to change its pallete? I don't know if such a command exists, but I imagine it would.

Alright, thanks for the info! And yes i have no scripting experience, but im really hoping that my next year of school will teach me; they put me in video game tech or something like that.

DON'T -- Bump (post in) old or outdated threads, unless you have something meaningful to contribute; mere questions do not count as such outside of question threads
If you have to ask about what you can and can't do, and what a bump is, you didn't read the FAQ.

Do it now, please.

No, i read the faq and rules multiple times, it's just for some reason the last few words of the no bump rule confuse me.. "...mere questions do not count as such outside of question threads."

hey, Epic edit is pretty nice! the only question I'm having is: how to you place item squares on the track? I'm assuming it's the same way you put money?

alright so maybe those others were a little far fetched..

how far along in the hack are you? perhaps I can help you if you need something? I'm alright at storylines, but something realistic/random like yours could be hard to come up with a good develpoing story...

I'm pretty good with making challenging, yet fun boss fights that keep you on the edge of your seat

You should go to http://www.hiveworkshop.com/forums/archive/index.php/f-279.html

The entire site is meant specifically for warcraft III custom models, spells, levels, and more. and if the page I recommended doesn't have what your looking for, then explore the site a little, I'm almost positive they have forums from what I can recall. You can also contact them and ask for assistance.

Well, my dad taught computer class in collage, and he used to own a computer repair shop. He insists the my family use AVG, and Microsoft Security Essentials. security essentials has real time scanning but I'm not so sure about open-source.

I was thinking maybe if there's another version of lazy shell, they could include some tutorials for the more advanced editing such as scripting, mapping, maybe hex editing? (probably not, but just a thought)

The Bob-Bomb Mafia was a really amazing hack; It has everything I want all in one hack. The weapons, and custom monsters were great too, and it was really challenging in the last battle against the mafia boss, but yet fun as well. definitely a 10/10; it really shows what lazy shell is capable of, and it really inspires me to learn more about it.

Alright well thanks everyone for the help, it answered my question, I'll try to be more careful from now on.. I'm surprised I didn't get in trouble; my first few days on the board I was replying to topics over a year old... >,<

EDIT: oh and one more thing, does anyone know what determines your rank? I've seen people higher level than me but with a lower rank, so i was wondering what factors are involved in rankings?

I'm working on an Earthbound hack, It's basically just gonna be based off the original, but with different text, monsters, bosses, and characters. Any ideas for some cool mosters/bosses?

How do i post a pictures of my hack?

alright thanks!

lol sorry another question.

I applied a patch to a fresh rom i dled, and somehow, it mixed data from the new hack, with one of my old hacks.. how did that happen, and how can i prevent it?

it actually turned into something pretty cool though, so i'm not complaining

EDIT: I used lunar magic to apply a hack to smrpg.

Is it possible to use lunar to apply a patch in Earthbound? do you even need too?

Im just redoing some weapon and spell animation.

alright no problem, oh and @setzer, This my be a little off topic, but a great puzzle hack I've heard about is called Hyperbound. It's based off earthbounds engine, but he completely transformed the game into something truly fantastic. you should youtube it, i really want to try it out.

A war started in the year 1247, and you travel 10 years in the past to kill the one who starts the war. That was somewhat like my idea for a hack i was gonna make, but i got sidetracked and lost interest

I like listening to pretty much anything but country.. My favorite band I'd have to say is either Dream Theater, or All That Remains. I listen to all that remains, for getting pumped about stuff, like when i work out, and such. And Dream Theater just because they have some of the best guitar solos I've ever heard! =D
