I'm picking up on Super Luigi: The Forgotten Adventure, someone on Facebook asked if I could finish it for his five year old daughter, I just finished editing the first castle. One world down, three more to go...

Where are the offsets located where I can make the Buzzy Beetle go back and forth like the red Koopa Troopa? This is for the hack Super Luigi: The Forgotten Adventure, thank you...

Thanks QC, I forgot about the General SMB1/SMB2J Hacking Thread. *facepalm*

And thanks for the find, I'm gonna get to it right now. Yeah, a guy on Facebook reached out to me and asked me if I can finish Super Luigi for his five year old daughter, that got me motivated.
I'm up to editing World 2-4 now, here's a sneak peek. He was really impressed with my You Tube video, also.

I found it in a folder in my ROM Hacking folder and the author said that I can improve on this hack, I edited the palettes, I also edited the hack to make it four worlds long with three levels each. I got rid of that 0-1 glitch and I also have an idea on which soundtrack to use for this hack, last but not least I'm gonna redo all the levels. I'm gonna have fun editing the levels in this hack, oh yeah, the text is edited also.

Another hack to put under my belt of projects I gotta finish, but it'll be worth it...

And don't worry, I'm getting motivation to work on my SMB3 hack projects as well...

This hack is almost ready for a release, I played through it up to world for and I got stuck in Fry Guy's battle, but when I warped to World 5 and went through World 7, everything went really smooth. Okay here's the problem...

When I battle Fry Guy, and beat him those little fry guys come out, right? Here's the kicker, sometimes only one, to two, to three fry guys come out, and when you kill them the door doesn't appear. This happened earlier tonight, four fry guys came out and when I beat them, that's when the door appeared.

And I've been playing over and over again, but the four fry guys don't come out. I don't know what the hell is going on. Here's a pic with the editor Super Mario Bros. 2 Trans...

I made sure that Fry Guy is the boss to pic that when you beat him, the door appears. Now here's what the level looks like in the hack...

If you beat Fry Guy against the wall, the little ones go up the wall and come down, between one through three. When all four came down once I thought it was fixed.

Now here's my edit of the Boss room...

As you can see the blocks under the spikes, that's where the door appeared when all four fry guys came out after I killed them, but it was never repeated, I went with using SMB2Trans since it has less bugs than the SMB2D.

Please help me fix this problem, this is the only one in this hack. This is a secret hack that I'm working on, it's not a secret anymore, I'll give more info through PM about the origins of this hack.
I'll give the hack with the save state when you're about to fight Fry Guy if that'll help. I would really appreciate it.

And by the way, anybody that wants to beta test this hack, feel free to lemme know...

I'm gonna check out five and six, I enjoyed the first four so I know I won't be disappointed. Thanks for sharing these hacks here.

You ever thought of doing a hack or Roll Chan for Mage Man 5 on the Game Boy, or are you pretty much done with this?

Download Communist Mario 3 now!

The object of this hack is to play through the original SMB3 but instead avoid all the coins, either free or in blocks. A number of other gameplay changes have been made to execute this main change, as well as a fully customized theme to compliment it! Please note that I do not claim any of the content in this hack to be accurate in any way possible. Some of it might be, but I didn’t put any effort into accuracy. If you have a problem with the content, grow some thicker skin or go play another hack.

Credits:
Most graphics are my own. Some have been sourced from other NES ROMs like Megaman 3-5, Castlevania, Faxanadu, and others.
Graphics from JaSp’s hack, “Mario in: Some Usual Day”, mostly global animated graphics.
Many people on IRC. The channel #rom-hacking on Espernet is full of people that were instrumental in helping me learn how to manipulate and edit my data. These people include Lenophis, DahrkDaiz, Disch, Vystrix Nexoth/Rainne, and more.
MetroidMst/ShyGuy for all the hype!!!
Lenophis for playtesting, suggestions, and streaming.
DahrkDaiz for his notes from way back in the day.
Emuz and DJBouche for support, ideas, and resources.
Finally, setz/skiffain for creating and releasing Communist Mario (SMB1), the idea for this hack.

Gameplay Changes:
Don’t get coins! Any kind of coin will hurt or kill you! You can still gather coins while invincible, and any coin gathering you do will still cause your coin counter to increase.
Mostly unchanged levels! Aside from functional and aesthetic changes, levels have been left as unchanged as possible. Yep, this is a feature.
One-ups have been removed! Any one-up that was in the game has been changed to a mushroom power-up. You will not gain a one-up for collecting coins.
Lives counter has been changed to a death counter! If you max the counter cap at 99, you are not a very good communist.
Level-end goal cards and slot-machine matching games have been removed. Since there’s no longer any point to having lives, they don’t serve a purpose.
Warp whistles, music boxes, and all but one anchor have been removed. Warp whistles are lazy, music boxes suck, and anchors are next to useless.
Use your items! Hammers, Tanooki Suits, Hammer Suits, and other items are more plentiful.

Theme Changes:
All worlds have their own unique graphics set. They will look different, but will have the same fundamental layout as the original.
Storyline has been changed, so the text also needed to match. All old princess letters were changed to quotes from Vladimir Lenin and all the chairmen (formerly kings) messages have been changed.
Bowser is no longer the antagonist. That has been changed to Uncle Sam and the United States.
Levels have slight changes that make them look a bit less plain, mostly fortresses.

Technical Details:
Increased the amount of frames the game uses to animate most game elements in-level. The original game had 4. This hack cycles 16 frames in the same amount of time as the original game cycled 4.
World 4 airship autoscroll speed was increased. It uses a different autoscroll pathway, so certain changes were made to accommodate it.
Coins have the “hurt Mario” routine attached to it.
Includes code for all worlds to be able to handle their own unique graphics page. In order for this to work, all graphic pages needed to be organized and arranged to fit the single TSA page referenced by the game.
Certain world map conditions were changed to allow for my execution of features and styles in this hack. No dark screen in the third part of World 8! Animation restored to World 5, but animation stopped in World 6.

Note: Yes, I realize some things are a bit "off", such as some of the palettes. Usually these things are a result of various programming limitations, or requires a bit more effort than I'm willing to put into it.

Unlike the other animation programs I tried, I'm gonna give OpenToonz a chance, and the best part about it, it's free! There's even an English forum and tutorials to learn how to use this program, in case anyone wants to try it out, get it here.

I didn't wanna give too much info on the hack, but here's the scoop...

Each character can float for a long time, and yeah, you gotta throw the mushroom block at Fry Guy and land on it real quick. But with Fry Guy spitting out the hearts you can get your energy back quick. I'll try to see if I can put blocks underneath the spikes, I wanna try to keep this part close to the original like the author's vision.

I think it looks a lot better. Too bad the problem is still there, if anything I can make a video so people can see it in action.

I found this editor earlier in my ROM Hacking folder, you can still edit stuff but it's kinda hard to edit what you can't see. The guy who made this editor goes by the name Don Dueck, who knows, maybe someone might pick up on this editor and finish it. Feel free to play around with it...

With the stars have different abilities and can float for a long period of time, this is definitely not your old Super Mario Bros. 2. 4matsy did a great job with the AsM and graphics, this hack needed to come to the masses. And the bosses will show you no mercy, you gotta have quick reflexes to battle them and collect lives in the bonus stages, you're gonna need lives in this hack. Well, here are some screens to check out...

Get the patch here...

Enjoy the hack everyone, and make sure you check out the Read Me, gotta give credit where it's due...

I'm just figuring out on how to use KALE, it took a while but I think I'm getting the hang of it. When I get the first level done, I'll post a YouTube video...

I'm making this thread to let people know the status of the current hacks I'm working on, and hacks I plan on working on. Right now I'm working on Super Luigi The Forgotten Adventure my SMB1 hack it's about 50% complete, I just gotta start editing World 2-4, it's a 4 World hack.

I'm also starting to hack Kirby's Adventure, but it's an old hack called Evil Kirby which it's now titled "Gangsta Kirby" which is about 2% done, here's two screens so far and the editor I'm using is KALE...

I also redid my Duck Tales hack, putting the font into a clean ROM and added the pogo fix by Drag. Here's a pic in case no one remembers. I just gotta learn how the editor CAD works, the latest release is here...

Other games I plan to hack are...

Final Fantasy 3 - This will be a Hard Type hack
Darkwing Duck - Using the CAD editor
Duck Tales 2 Using the Duck Tales 2 Level Editor
The Flintstones - Using the CAD editor
Blaster Master - Using ReMaster

That's pretty much it for now, I've been wanting to hack these games for a while. See ya's...

I was playing my SMB1 hack Super Luigi and I wanna ask a question for some help...

Where are the offsets where when you hit the Mushroom Block instead of it moving, I wanna have it stay still like the Fire Flower? I seen this in some Japanese SMB1 hacks. Thanks
