I still think there is something that tells the game what angle the karters leave the points at. If you edit that track so that you can drive on the grass, so you are placed back on the track, you will be facing the angle of the next point. However if you change where the next point is you are still facing where the next point would have been.

no DKC game use the SuperFX chip, why is everybody thinking this?

I was about to say the same thing.

Try Starfox or SMK.

SMK is DSP1 chip I think and not the SuperFX chip. Try Stunt Racer FX

Does anyone know what the pointertable at 0x2019B is for? It's obviously AI/Lakitu-related, because editing the data pointed to/changing the pointer makes the AI act oddly, and sometimes crashes the game...

I don't think it has anything to do with Lakitu and his drop off points. It also does not seem to effect the track's item layouts or the location of the start finish line. The only thing it does do as you noted is either make the AI go crazy or crash the game when the track is loaded.

Wow that's really getting there HH. I had I was playing spot the difference for a while with those two screens. At first glance it just looked like you'd removed the driver sprite in the emu Keep up the good work.

The track does look longer in your render tho', is it displayed in a higher res?

I don't understand why you would move the start/finish line to race backwards. Or you plan to move the line to the other side of the starting grid?

Or do you mean you plan to make a mirror mode?

Anyway I don't think that anyone knows where this data is stored yet. I hope I'm wrong tho'

Just out of interest, does anyone know any Japanese Rom Hacking websites?

There are some Asian sites that linked to my Super Baldy Kart video on youtube:

820 clicks from http://supermariogalaxy.seesaa.net/article/30487959....
16 clicks from http://tokkablog.blog81.fc2.com/blog-entry-2037.html
4 clicks from http://video.1st-game.net/video.php?id=dHtUg2QPZ70
3 clicks from http://tokkablog.blog81.fc2.com/?q=%A5%DE%A5%EA%A5%A...
2 clicks from http://tokkablog.blog81.fc2.com/category20-70.html

I like the way the say Baldy is a strange human in a kart - (google translate) it's like they've met him!

What's this thread numbered #6? What is this FFS?

I think you have answered your own question...

Posted by SuperMetroid

3)Open your hex editor, find the address of the room you want to copy, then search for the address of the room next to it. Copy the bytes in between those two address including the address of the copying room and ecxcluding the addess of the room next to it.

I've never played Metroid let alone hack it however to find out the level addresses you can either look at the level pointers as it sounds like you have the offset for that or maybe use a editor that tells reads the pointers for you.

It does sound like you need to read up on addressing. Also maybe saying thanks to people like HH you has been trying to help you rather than “yeah but how!?!?” a bit of gratitude will make people more inclined to help you.

Try reading this, pointer guide I hope it helps.

Mouse brain simulated on computer

It's one hell of a computer but we'll have the sort of power on PDAs one day. Then we too can simulate mice!

NTSC (never the same colour twice – at least in the early days) has less scan lines but ran at 60Hz when Europe went for a TV (PAL) standard they had more scan lines at the cost of only running at 50Hz.

When a NTSC recorded TV show is shown on a PAL terrain it does look noticeably grainy. Of course 50Hz is worse for your eyes than 60Hz.

In the days of 16bit consoles dev couldn't be bothered to redraw the graphics so we ended up with PAL games having black boards.

So it’s 6 of one half a dozen of the other.

The DC was the first console I came across the option to run PAL-60. If you can use this combo it will give you the best output on a standard def TV.

Lets hope there is a global standard for HD right now I think there still quite a few

Nah, they're just like that in London. They don't represent the rest of us.

Yeah, I dislike London greatly. It's absolutely nothing like what it is like here on the coast.

Yeah I lived in London for 3 years when I was a uni. I'd not really want to move back. I meet some quite scary people - and a few rather cool MAME devs but that's another story.

Funny you should say about SWT I used the for the past 2 years or so until 3 weeks ago when they pissed me off so much I now drive to work.

When I lived in London I stayed in Wembely - just before I went to uni I went to an Oasis gig at Wembley football stadium. A few weeks before I moved there they knocked it down

The following video must have stated to be recorded around when I first moved to the area here
