Mecakoto, welcome back(how long will this one be).
yeah, I think a video series would be help full I think (ElementPowerStar?) started one. but we got quite a few new people to this section that then left partially because it is not a easy thing to learn.

Every time I import sprite molds it works fine if I import 1 single mold, which then leaves me stuck with 1 mold unable to add more. When I import more than 1 the palette imports wrong and no matter what I do if I import anything it screws up other sprites. I'm trying to replace mario sprites with the ones in this zipped folder:

https://www.mediafire.com/?bd28bqtl7k2vpt8

I could really use some assistance with this.

remember that palletes in SNES can only be 16 colors deep so if you are sure that you are under 16 colors, import a mold say yes to dialog box 1,2 and 3
then import all the molds and say yes to dialog box 1,2, and not 3. tell me if that helps.

There's a way to switch out Mario..however it leads to bug because the character on top will be in the overworld. Is there a wayto switch Mario for battles without removing him from the overworld?

Mario and anyone in the party for that matter has a separate set of battle sprites edit them and his walking, jumping, and overworld shouldn't be affected

Nice, Giangurgolo! would acceptance of pointers be the banned ASM I know I while back you said "no ASM" work with the editors but its annoying when they reset it all? *repointing it bleh*

PS: What do you like to be called for short your name is pretty long and hard to spell

TCRF
has lists of unused things you can commandeer parts of them to save graphics stuff however not many large spaces of free space(for graphics) in the SMRPG rom

Good luck

If you need any help with editing Lazy Shell, I'd love to help.

Last year I was working on a 'Lazy Shell +' that I was trying to add rom expansion to, along with some concepts for making things like adding new enemies or levels less of a hassle.

I got rom expansion working, started to recode Lazy Shell to switch where it reads/writes data after expanding the rom, and researched how to bank switch with the SNES. But my forte is C# programming and not 65816 assembly. So when I got to trying to figure out how to trace the code so I could repoint graphics and such to make use of the expanded space, I hit a brick wall. And so it got shelved.

Since it sounds like you have the opposite problem (skill in assembly, but not C#), maybe we could work together?

I love the idea of a lazy shell with access to expanded space sadly I don't know C# ethier

I haven't been able to work on the editor since last August, but here is a (very buggy) beta version of LAZY SHELL v4.0 (source). There's still quite a few bugs in this version, since I've been too busy the last year to fix them. You can try it out if you wish, but don't expect a final version to be released any time soon (if ever at all), since I don't have time anymore to work on it.

I've put 100's of hours into this editor since I first started working on it in 2008, and until last year it's what I've primarily spent my time on. I know it's far from perfect and has always had problems (see the posts right above, for example). Nevertheless, I hope people can still make use of it or at least enjoy playing around with it for fun and whatnot. It's come a long way and it's largely because of your bug reports and feedback that have pushed it to reach the level it is today. Without the (relatively small but dedicated) user base LAZY SHELL has acquired over the years it would never have made it past v1.0.

Thanks to everyone for their support.

Well, thank you for all your hard work
i guess its time to say farewell to a legend. i too dont have time to tinker with SMRPG but i enjoy the opportunity that you have given us for the smrpg docs and the LAZY SHELL.
