Hey, that's a cool idea. I designed a canyon level way back in the day - didn't use that tileset, but the same idea, nonetheless. It looks like it might be fun - that underwater cheep-cheep area looks like hell, though.

Haha, dude, make an Alien chomp, so when it opens its' mouth like Yoshi it launches a mini chain-chomp with a biting mouth and everything XD

That's pretty awesome, though. I'll play this, perhaps...

Neat idea. Although I think normal exit Yoshis should change color every so often, or maybe to power-up you'd need to touch another colored Yoshi. Like to become Fire Mario you'd touch a red Yoshi...that'd be neat.

Same one posted on SMW Central. Ahem...
Screenshots galore, pretty much. 23 of them, to be precise. Enjoy...leave feedback...thanks muchly

Same old title screen...from 2002 XD

World 1, Emerald Forest.

Rule #1 of my hack: NOTHING IS WHAT IT SEEMS.

Nothing at all...

How to get thru this pipe...?

Rule #2: Trust the Coins

Blue blocks turn on water, yellow ones turn it off.

Level 2, along with a new object.

TRUST THE BLOODY COINS!!

But if there are no coins...

Use a Sprite to find out!

Hit the POWs in the right order!

Overlapping objects conceal...

All kinds of things!

Midway points.

Sprite-only block

Emerald Woods, level 3.

Emerald Canopy, level 4.

Be careful!

Outside the ancient hidden citadel.

Yoshi Coin blocks. If you need to do this, you'll see some of them sitting around, like the ones beneath the pipe.

Inside the citadel. Background is from Super Mario Universe - I'll give Forte credit.

Remember: Nothing is what it seems.

Blackhole - actually, you use a pow block to fall through blocks that were once in that spot, so it shouldn't have a left border. I see how that could look weird though...

Myre - No you don't wall jump, there are invisible solid blocks beneath those coins. I suck at ASM hacking XD

The idea sounds nice, but I won't suggesting spoiling anything too much else in future screens. I think the possibilites are limited, though

Actually, my possibilities are continually endless. With just a bit over 100 levels and over 300 things in Block Tool alone, there's quite a bit that can be done. I know I probably shouldn't reveal anything else, though.

The background for your citadel, those tiles are from Super Metroid. I think they were from the Wrecked Ship, I may not remember.

They're from the save room in Super Metroid, actually. I was giving you credit for the rip.

Do you have a release date?

Not yet. I'll release a demo of world 1 after my beta testers have notified me about any errors (the testers need to be identified still, actually)...I've got about three levels left.

If you just need some beta testers (judging by what you said), please can I?

Yeah, sure. I don't have a list of beta testers yet, and I need perhaps 5 or so, so I'll put you down...

Well, unfortunately, that's how my hack is ruled out: puzzles and confusion along with the gameplay. Blocks are disguised, yeah, but I figure it makes for trickery, but not in ways that you can ultimately die over and over again, frustratingly, see - that's what I try to do, make it confusing but not hard to beat.

I've released several demos, the last one being released here, about two years ago. I picked it up recently. It's actually kind of an old hack.

I'll put you down for beta testing, Phoenix.

It's not done, not even the first world. I just finished the Yellow Switch Palace, which I might make the Blue anyway, but if you want to, sure, give me your e-mail via PM, I'll send it, give me feedback via PM or this thread.

Okay. I've changed the background on the second level, that was kind of...overused, shall we say? As far as climbing that pipe goes, there are coins going up the side of it, I just already gathered them. Also, as far as the one-way blocks go, I didn't make those myself, those are just versions of the goal post twisted in the map-16 editor and colored. You gotta remember two colors, that's all.

I'm afraid I don't know how to do custom animation. Doesn't look that hard, but if one could point me in the right direction...?

Is there any new music in it?

Not yet. I think there will be eventually, maybe when I'm ready to actually let it out into the public, but not right now. I'm still trying to get that damn thing to work. But, I'll put you down for beta testing, Kirby.

BTW, I'm only accepting three more testers.

Here are some screens from a recently completed 2-1. Yes, I'm actually getting off my ass as far as YIR goes. That's my Yoshi's Island hack, for all who don't know.

Screenies:

2-1: Zoom, Zoom, Zoom!

Platforms float dangerously in mid-air. Watch your step!

Pay attention to your surroundings for hints and secrets!

Be careful of sharpshooter Piranha plants!

There ya go. I'll update later. Ciao...

Intriguing...I've always been somewhat interested in SMB3 hacking and simultaneously amazed at your skill with said hacking, Dahrk. I'm absolutely going to give this a go to see if I can make any decent progress, maybe even adding another long-loved game to my repertoire. Awesome, looking forward to progress ^^

Ha, that, my friend, is sick. Awesome. I gots a similar thing (temples are called "Crystalia" instead of "temples", from an ancient civilization) but no custom bosses. Makes me want to know how to do in-depth hacking in the first place -.-

Very nice, looks great fun to play ^.^

Idk if I'm too late for this, but I pride myself on Overworld and Level design, and would love to contribute to either.
