Okay, here's where I'm at right now:
I still have 4 weapon animations to do for Black: Finger Shot will probably be taken out completely to make room for an ax weapon, Hand Cannon will probably be removed in favor of Shadic's ninja star idea, Hand Gun might or might not stay, I really haven't decided yet, and Star Gun = ? I don't know what to do with that yet. Black shooting stars seems a little weird to me, but I still need an idea to replace it. As far as magic goes, I'm pretty much set. Geno Flash is in process right now. I still don't know what to call it though. Shadic's Axem Barrage name seems like it might be a better name for the attack I'm replacing Bowser Crush with where the Blade crushes enemies rather than a giant mecha-koopa. I also plan on giving Black Toadstool's Psych Bomb spell. But rather than fiddle around with spell scripts, I think I'll just draw in an animation for Black directly into Pink's animations, which should be easy because, oddly enough, all of the Axem Rangers have Black's palette within their own palettes. tl;dr version: Black's almost done, but I could use an idea for a weapon to replace Star Gun. Like I said before, hopefully I'll have Black done by the end of this week. |

Can you use inflict the mushroom status on an enemy? I've never tried it before (obviously, it could only be done through hacks). Has anyone done this before? I like to know what would happen. |

Personally, I use v 1.36 without any problems besides a few lags during some text. |

v1.36 doesn't have any problems with any other games I've played, only SMRPG. I think there's just something about this game that is difficult for emulators to work with. I've never tried 1.41 so you may want to try that out. If that doesn't work, v1.36 might be your only choice for this game.
It's weird... every other game gets better with each version of ZSNES, but SMRPG seems to get worse and worse with newer versions. |

Hey guys,
I've been super busy this past couple weeks. Professors really know how to lay it on thick. I haven't really had much time at all to do any work on this, but I have done some so fear not. But from what I can tell, there is even more school work in my immediate future so I won't have much time to work on this for the next week or two. I will work on it when I can though. Also, I am getting my wisdom teeth removed this Thursday so I doubt if I'll have the will to do much of anything for the next several days. Hey, at least I keep you guys updated. |

Thanks for the wishes of health, you two.
It's been nearly a week, and my mouth still hurts, but not nearly as bad as the first day. Also, even though there's only a few more weeks left in the semester, I don't have a whole lot of work at the moment so I've been able to get some more work done. As the sprite editing portion of the main characters starts to get closer to completion, I started thinking: Though there is a lot of stuff with this hack that I want to do to completely revamp it, should I release a version of this hack with only the character sprites different just so people can have a little fun with the original? I mean, I'll definitely still work on more stuff to do, this would just give people something to do in the mean time. And that brings me to my next point. When the sprites are done, I was thinking of having maybe 2 or 3 people beta test the sprites. This would include playing through the game using all 5 characters and examining all of their various animations, in and out of battle, to make sure nothing weird happens. Shadic, you already got the job as a tester. Al2Fenrir can still do it if he ever comes back, but I'm doubtful at this point, so I'll need maybe 1 or 2 others. Let me know if you're interested. Of course, I don't know how long it will be until these sprites are done. Hopefully it won't be too long. |

There probably won't be any change to the dialogue, other than the changes I have already made (which are very small.) In the version with only sprites edited the only difference would be the beginning where you have to battle Torte other then Bowser. In that battle the dialogue has been changed. Everything else would be the same though. In other words, People will be calling Axem Red Mario. |

Hey everyone, sorry I've been taking so long to post anything. My brother just got married and I've had a bunch of other things going on so I haven't been able to finish things up quite yet. I'm definitely getting close to finishing sprites though.
I've also been doing some spell editing stuff. Fire orb is sorta useless once you get Super Flame so I turned into a ice based attack. Bowser Crush has been changed to Axem Barrage where Yellow summons the Blade to crush all enemies. Also, Black's Dark Beam is now a black version of Geno Beam which does ice elemental damage. I've still gotta few other things to do but progress is being made so stay tuned. |

That's weird... I tested this hack myself and I never had any problems in that room whether I grabbed the shoes or not.
Has anyone else experienced this problem? |

Wow. Thanks very much for bringing this to my attention. The Being able to run away error is something I just forgot about. As for the glitchy battle with chefs and whatnot, I have no idea how those packs got so messed up. I'll fix them soon and get a less glitchy version out.
As for the clue in the Sunken Ship, it mentions Super Spike and Pile Driver in Mario's Pad. Pile Driver should appear in the battle with Super Spike. |

My intent with this game's battle system was to make the entire game harder, but still not force you to level up a certain way or only use certain characters. The optional boss fights, however are meant to be challenging and force you to use at least some strategy and you should be a high level when you fight them too. I think Super Spike is the hardest one and Boshi is second, that's why both of them give good stuff when you beat them. |

Hey, hey everybody!
It's been awhile. Good news, hack fans! I am currently working on SMRPG: Legend of the Axem Rangers version 2.0. This version will be COMPLETELY different from the last. 1.0 was mainly to showcase some new spells and the characters. This version will be completely different. There is a new story line, new levels, new items, new spells, new enemies, and more! Get excited! I know I am! I'll try and get some pics up soon. I might also post a video if I can. |

What exactly do you mean? Do you mean how sometimes it'll change around "jump to:" scripts? I've already had my fair share of headaches with that. It took awhile to fix it, but yeah, it is annoying. |
