Happy aprils fools guys.

I'm surprised no one made a topic about what we did yet.

All right, then. I'll bite. Did something happen? I haven't noticed anything different here today at all. ...Or is that in itself the prank?

This looks pretty cool. Of course, it's up to you if you want to keep working on it or not. My general rule of thumb with ROM hacking and such is: if you're not enjoying it, don't do it. Or, if you don't think the end result will be worth it to you, don't do it.

Anyway, yeah I'd like to see this finished. I noticed you changed up the faerie and hearts as well as some indoor graphics. Do you plan on doing other sprites besides Link?

My only request:
Get rid of Impa's level, or change it drastically. No invisible floors and warp mazes. Pretty please?

All right, I lol'd at Fonzie Bowser. You do some good work. In my Koopa Bros. hack, I planned on having a Shy Guy army play some sort of role, so I may have to steal this lovely array of Shy Guy colors. Except that last Shy Guy. That's just creepy.

It's funny that you did the Koopa Bros., because I've been working on some Koopa Bros. sprites of my own.
I have just a few sample frames, but tell me what you guys think.

Red facing SW.

Yellow jumping while facing SW.

Green facing N.

Black walking W.
You like? Any problems stick out to you or anything?

Also, M.E.R.255, I'll be nice: If you should feel so inclined, and have some spare time on your hands, I would love to see would you could do with a SMRPG style Kooper. No pressure though.

Why did my Black koopa picture just disappear? Weird...

Don't worry about the Shy Guys for now. My hack is still in its very early stages so I won't need them right away, and I'm not even sure if I will use them yet. If I do end up using them, I could probably fix them up myself anyway.

I don't mind you or anyone else editing my sprites at all. If someone can do better, I would love to see. I'd gladly use theirs over mine. I see what you mean about making Black a little darker. I'm trying to find the right balance between having a sufficiently black shell while still being light enough to make out the features of it, you know?

Those Axem Ranger poses do look pretty sweet I can tell you're a lot better at this than I am. If I don't have some kind of template to work with, I usually do pretty bad with sprites. Anyone who has ever played my Axem Ranger hack can probably tell the difference between an unedited or slightly edited pose that already existed as opposed to something that I made myself.

Lol at Koomba! I also like those dolls that you have there. Imagine Booster playing with a doll of himself... And the Chomp Omb, Bandana Dark, Mad Chomp, Death Crusher, Tarantula, the General, and even Bombette... all excellent candidates for a hack!

Sorry I haven't replied till now, I've been on the road and I haven't had any access to a computer.

But man, I gotta say I love your koopas. My Koopa Bros. hack will probably be very koopa heavy, so each of these are much appreciated. Especially since I planned on asking someone to help me out with Kolorado anyway Now if I could just find Kolorado's wife...

As far as getting a free webspace goes, that's really not necessary. I don't really want one right now, but I do thank you for the offer. I don't really do much spriting, and when I do it's only for hacks and such. Truth be told, I don't really find it all that fun

I think your M.E.R. character would probably look a bit better with more wrinkles on his coat. I don't know, maybe it's just me.

Also, lol at punk Koopas

lol, Alf! Unfortunately, every time I hear someone mention Alf, I think of this:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9iMGnmZszN0

@Yakibomb
I see what you mean about the back of my Koopa Bros. heads being a little flat. Unfortunately, there are no sprites of Sky Troopas or Terrapins facing in the 4 cardinal directions, so the heads were drawn pretty much free hand. Ugh
That new version of Lazy Shell is pretty darn impressive. I'm glad to see that importing graphics is so easy. I plan on having a level in my hack that will be based on Earthbound. Being able to export graphics directly from the game makes it a lot easier though. Man, making hacks is really time consuming, but it's stuff like this that makes me want to make time for them.

@M.E.R.
I can see old looking koopas being useful. I plan on having Koopa Village be an area in my hack, and as such I could use the Koopas that live there, like Koopa Koot, Kolorado, Kolorado's wife (why did they never give her a name?), and maybe even some old looking mayor koopa. Heck, even Bombette could be thrown into the mix.
About uploading sprites, it would be VERY helpful to me if they were uploaded with proper width and height and only using 15 colors. If it's too much trouble though, I could probably do it myself.
Also, I was thinking of including some other sprites as well, such as Toad Soldiers (from princess peach's castle in Paper Mario), General Guy (I always loved this guy), and some sort of Bob-omb character that looks like he is in charge (i.e. has a general's hat, some badges on his chest and such.)
But more importantly, I'd like to see some Hammer Bros. that are the size of normal Koopas (once again, like the ones from Paper Mario), rather than the big over-sized ones this game already has.

Dang, I've recently moved into a new place and our internet is super slow. It takes forever just to submit a post

Creating a hack can be pretty daunting, but just take it one thing at a time and you can do it. If you ever have any questions or need some advice on something, you can post it here and I and others will do our best to help you out. Hackers gotta stay together

I'm still fine-tuning my sprites to make them look good, but I'll definitely share them when they're ready to go. It may just be easier to use yours. Plus, yours seem to use less colors than mine so I could include the green gloves and such just like you said.

I don't like revealing too much about a hack I've really barely started, but I also planned on having the Glitz Pit from TTYD make a comeback. Those punk koopas would make a good team to fight against.

By the way, I think your Koopas' eyes look fine to me.

Those hammer bros look pretty good! I must say I do like the black shell and helmet better than the green. Super Mario Galaxy 2's Hammer Bros. are kinda meh. Now it may just be me, but yours look a little off to me. The hammer looks odd, I don't know if it's just too small or if it looks odd because it's at a weird angle or something, I don't know. Also, again this may just be me, but the shell looks disproportionate to the head. It looks like the head is a little small. Maybe it's just the helmet that sort of gives it the feel of being small, I don't know. Overall, it's certainly better than anything I could do.

I love the dayzee, by the way! Once again, I was thinking of putting dayzees in my hack to replace those weird flowers that already exist. All it needs is some walking, singing, and maybe some knock-back animations for when you hurt it and it'll be good. You just keep reading my mind

Both koopas are pretty similar, the difference is pretty negligible. I would go with the one on the right just because it adds a bit more color variety I guess.

This seems pretty legit. You got some good stuff going there, bro. Maybe teams, classes, and some other things aren't necessary right away. If it makes things simpler, start out simple with things like fights between two people at a time with victory depending on stats and equipment.
But I know next to nothing about coding this sort of thing, so whatever would be easiest will work.

Now all we need is a way to earn those frog coins...

Nicely done! But 80 rupees seems a little steep for only 4 arrows. Just sayin'.

Yeah, I'm pretty sure Mother's Day was invented by Hallmark.
Seriously though, you're right that it should really be an everyday thing, but at the same time, if we didn't have a day specifically set aside for it, we might not do it at all.

So what exactly is the plan with the magic meter? Do you plan on creating some magic based items to find? Of course that brings up the issue of enemies dropping magic jars and such.

I didn't think many would respond due to the (a)theological shitstorm they'd almost certainly bring upon themselves at some point in their near (or distant) future.

The main problem seems to be ignorance on both sides. Whenever any sort of (a)theological conversation comes up, both sides already enter the conversation believing that they're in the right and there is no possible way they could be wrong, and that they're doing their "opponent" and the rest of the world a big favor by doing everything in their power to make the other guy look like an idiot who is also wrong. We should all know from the bible, our parents, and even Kindergarten teachers and cartoons and such that people should always be treated with respect. Just because some guy doesn't believe in the same things you do doesn't make him less deserving of kindness and respect. I've been religious pretty much my whole life, but most of my best friends aren't religious. It doesn't mean I think they're better or worse than anyone else.

Posted by KP9000
Me too. I may not act like it sometimes, though. Swearing is an issue of mine.
Nice. Maybe it's just me or maybe it's because people don't like admitting that they're religious online, but I never see many members of the church on websites like this.

Well first of all, this isn't my game at all.

Posted by AnAxemRanger

Note: this hack is not mine. I take credit for absolutely nothing.

But I can see your point. This might have been more interesting with MM's 3-day time system. Being constrained by a time limit certainly adds a certain level of depth to the game.

However, I don't exactly know how far MM hacking has come along, if anything is happening at all. Heck, until I stumbled upon this hack I didn't even know OoT had any real hacking progress.
