The March 2007 Project Zero Contest is over. There was no winner to claim the Zelda III Proto NES rom, so it will become a prize of another contest later. We do still have a few days left this month, so the next contest starts now! The solution to the March contest will be available upon request.

So now this supposed thing goes to another contest at some other time. Whoop-de-doo. Next time I want to see a print screen of okibi's computer with the rom playing in an NES emulator as some kind of evidence that the thing is real.

That reminds me, I have a prototype of Zelda OoT for NES:

I guess they scrapped it because NES was too weak to do textures. I'll give it to whoever can tell me my shoe size by July 10th!

Yeah I guess screenshots can be faked. I thought of that as i posted but then thought "who cares..." Oh well, I guess there's no good way of knowing that it's real of actually obtaining the ROM. Or would a video be good enough proof of it's existence? (Care to refute me with a video of that OoT NES prototype HH? )

Oh god, that was a failure in control schemes. Worst idea ever. My palms were raw meat when I played that game a ton. Good thing Nintendo realized that that wasn't good so they instead made games where you mash you fingers pressing A as fast as possible.

Speaking of mashing, has anyone beaten the cloud race against the canary in Banjo-Tooie? To this day I still haven't beaten her. My fingers just can't push A fast enough to win. I've deemed it impossible for me at least without the use of a turbo controller.

I agree with Drag here about okibi being innocent. He hasn't proved that that it's real but he hasn't proved it isn't either. I may have said that screenshots/videos would be nice but that's only as an absolute assurance that the thing it real. I believe that this thing is real and that okibi was really trying for someone to win. He doesn't strike me as a some kind of asshole just trying to make everyone angry at him from the way he's talked to us about the hints and such. So I really believe he has it and would have given it to us if we'd won.

However, we didn't win so we've reverted to getting upset with him like we did with the fake Z1 ROM, because we haven't won it. So we don't have it yet. Big deal. This is just like any other contest that anyone takes part in (albeit this was a highly difficult, sometimes obscure contest) : How assured are you that the prize on the other side of the contest you're in is real? You don't unless you see shots of the prize, which most of the time you don't. So what make okibi's contest any different than countless other ones?

Nothing. This was just a hard contest for a sought-after prize that now because we don't have it we're acting like whiny, spoiled brats and flaming him. Get over it. The ROM will come up again in another contest and we'll try again when that occurs.

I'd suggest trying it using the normal goal sprite and the secret goal sprite just to see if they work. If that doesn't work, I'd guess it's something with the coding.

A little button called Print Screen. It's next to the Scroll Lock.

Or you could push Esc, Ctrl, Tab, Alt, Both Shifts, Num Lock and the little squiggly (~) until the screen goes blue. Then, you should be good to go with that desktop picture.

My asshole was a guy that for no reason that I can remember any more, hated me and just constantly was a pest to me. He would make fun of me and the worst thing he did was pour abottle of water down my backpack in the seventh grade, soaking my stuff and textbooks. I'd've beaten him up if it weren't for the fact that I'd've probably been suspended for fighting, and if not for the fact that I wouldn't have been able to even start a fight. I've given up caring about what he does now because I'm really sure he's not getting far in life.

There's no current demo, though sniff around and you might find some old (or really old) demos. I'm about halfway through the game though. The only new "feature" that I can think of is that Yoshi now uses a different pallete than green so he can be any color I want him to be in any level.

Oh and S.N.N., that looks awesome! When are you releasing this game? I could've sworn you'd said it wouldn't be long now...

Open one rom, then open the overworld. Without closing LM, open a new rom, then go to the overworld and hit the save. That should do it. I'm not sure it the path and events are moved as well but I believe they are.

Hmm, the right half of your overworld reminds me some of another SMW hack called Ultimate Mario World Bean World Crisis. The two have some similarities, but yours looks much more refined.

My friend actually bought Pearl for me and gave it as a late birthday gift. I never thought I'd be playing Pokémon again but I'm hooked! My team right now consists of Monferno, Staravia, Luxio, Machop and that water weasel (can't think of the name!) I'm having a lot of fun on it. I actually found the first gym leader easy. Two hits of Mach Punch by Monferno defeated whatever the third pokémon he had was, no sweat.
