This is even dumber than the childish "Star Wars versus Star Trek" debate (which, thankfully, most people grow out of when they grow older... or they just dislike both equally).

Nah. Unlike that topic, this topic could be worth discussing (similar to "What decade of music is the best?"). The only problem is that time periods in question are too large and unspecific (change "decade" to "century" in the previous set of parentheses). People have surprisingly different definitions of what constitutes "retro" or "old school." I know many of my friends who consider the N64/PSX generation to be such even though I never would. This topic would actually be worth discussing if it was along the lines of "Which generation of gaming was the best?"

Granted, wouldn't consider myself a good answerer of that question, given the fact that I don't really play new games anymore.

Yeah, I didn't have to remove mine.

My sister didn't have her wisdom teeth removed either, because they somehow managed to come in straight.

My appointment for getting my wisdom teeth was at 10 AM and scheduled to take 2 hours. I was kind of dreading it, but turned out much better than I expected.

The Novocain shots were the part I was dreading the most, but the local anesthetic they applied made them surprisingly painless. After that I barely felt a thing in my mouth (aside from some pressure). The actual teeth extraction part went pretty well (ignoring the fact I almost swallowed the first one...) and only took about as much time as the shots. All in all, the whole thing took only 45 minutes. I spent the next half hour or so lying in the chair while my Mom went into a different room to have her fillings done.

The worst part was probably definitely the gauze they put in my mouth after the operation. That just felt incredibly icky. That, and the residual numbness from the Novocain only made it feel ickier. Ugh. Also, both the gauze pad things and the Novocain made me unable to talk with sounding like my cousin who suffers from mental retardation (not 100% sure if it's Down syndrome).

(And yes, they did put me on nitrous oxide (laughing gas) during the operation, but I didn't really notice any major effects myself. Maybe it actually did make me calmer, but at the time I chalked my calmness up to other reasons (such as the realization that the painkillers actually worked or that the dentist's beard and turban looked really cool). :/ )

As for right now, I don't feel any worse than I used to after a normal orthodontist appointment back when I had braces. In fact, now I'd say I feel even better, thanks to the fact that I'm taking painkiller medication (which I don't do very often). My cheeks aren't even swollen right now (probably because I applied ice to them (alternatively, I haven't waited long enough for them to swell)), and I was even able to eat a hamburger patty for dinner through judicious application of nibbling. All in all, to quote my brother's girlfriend, I'm "unusually perky for someone who just got his wisdom teeth removed."

Maybe I'm just weird.

I just completed this hack. It's a bit on the tough side (probably because I'm not good at the original game either ), but I managed to complete it without savestates. Some of the level design is really nice. This hack gets my official seal of approval.

Also, I noticed this area in Shadow Man's stage where it's possible to get permanently stuck and have to reset if you fail the jump in the above screen enough times and run out of Rush Coil energy. I suggest that you lower the left wall enough so that you can commit suicide with the help of the walking grenade enemies.

I'm sure there are a couple other places like this in the hack (like that one in the original game). While it's not really a necessary fix (since we're all playing on emus anyway), it's the kind of thing you might want to avoid if you want the hack to have an extra layer of "polish."

I was mostly afraid because I've never had an operation done on me before. I really wanted to be knocked out during the procedure (like my older brothers were) because I thought that it would be painful, but once they started applying the anesthetic I realized that everything was going to be fine.

Also, I find it weird that my cheeks aren't swollen, since that's supposedly a common side-effect of the whole procedure. My sister went to her senior prom with a guy who got his wisdom teeth removed the day before, and he looked like a chipmunk.

I mostly drink water, milk, and juice, and I'm not particularly fond of soda. I don't have any real favorite beverage, but if I had to pick one I'd say chocolate milk.

I've taken these kinds of tests a couple times (in fact, I think I've taken the one Stark posted) and usually get INTJ or INTP.

Except they're not at all different. The Famicom had an underutilized microphone and unremovable controllers with only player one having the Start button, but they were not that much different from a software POV.

Probably the most significant difference between the Famicom and American NES* is that the latter lacks support for sound expansion chips on carts.** This meant that for games that used extra sound chips, the soundtrack would have to be recomposed to fit into the NES's limitations (Castlevania 3) or not released in America all together (Gimmick!).

*The European NES, on the other hand, is just like the Famicom in this regard.

**IIRC, the "sealed port" on the bottom of the NES has sound ext. support, but it was never used.
