Good work. It tested it out, and it seems to work quite well.

i'm currently assembling sprite tiles which is a real slow process considering there's 200~ sprites to do it for...

If you haven't already, you should include something to change the tiles in case somebody* bothers to do some sprite hacking.

* Probably nobody.

IIRC, each of the three campaigns will have about 30 missions, which is about 3 times as large as a single campaign from the original games. Splitting the games up does sound pretty reasonable, but only if they're properly priced. Currently, I'm cautiously optimistic about the whole ordeal.

When I cheat it's usually because I'm just screwing around with the game rather than actually playing. During normal play I don't cheat unless the game stupid-hard (like Kaizo Mario or something).

I played through them all in anticipation of Mega Man 9. The first three games range from good (III) to downright abominable (II). Fortunately, by IV and V the developers seemed to have gotten their act together, and those games are arguably more innovative and polished than the mainline console series was at the time. Overall, I rather like the series, and honestly wouldn't mind a GB-style MM VI.

Also, if you're considering hacking any of the games, I found some data for the first one (Link). I suspect that III-V have similar data formats, while II doesn't (it uses a different engine IIRC).

I found MM3 GB to be the hardest game in the classic series. I got well over twenty Game Overs in Dust Man's stage alone. Still, it's a pretty good game, and also has the honor of being the only time Wily was smart enough to make a robot out of spikes.

I got: An assortment of various clothing items (including SMW pajamas), a razor, a watch, a Nerf gun, over 2500 pieces worth of puzzles, a LotR boardgame, a Japanese phrasebook, that new Harry Potter book, Prince Caspian (movie), and de Blob (Wii).

I gave: a mousepad and a movie

I should probably go to the store and get a few more gifts. I can probably get away with it, since my family is still waiting for some presents to be delivered (snowy weather and all).

Why are you using "they" to refer to the journalist? Are you trying to hide the journalist's gender in order to surprise us later by revealing that the said journalist is actually female (or worse, multiple people)? Regardless of the real reason you're doing it, I must say that it only makes the story harder to read. This passage is the most egregious example of how it only hinders your writing:

In all the time the journalist had been without their memory, they had never been given a name. Perhaps they thought they would remember it eventually.

I don't think those sentences need any real explanation.

In any case, the story looks quite interesting despite the rough edges around the writing. I'm looking forward to more.

I think I lost a few IQ points from reading that piece of "journalism."

Fortunately, I regained said points after reading the relevant Wikipedia article.

For example, you have, say, a pie in front of you. You have to divide by zero so you do... nothing. This way there is no answer because no operation was made...

Let's take that same pie and divide it by one. To divide it by one, you do nothing. However, even though "no operation" was made there was an answer. Ergo, you have no idea what you are talking about.
