Posted by Higsby Yeah, when I first started using Gamemaker a year ago, I was very turned off when I realized making a "regular simple platform engine" was NOT a walk in the park. After, learning the gamemaker language and learning to code stuff, I can actually make something, not only functional, but somewhat fun. 
The reason you see both Mario and Luigi in the same screen, is because my whole game is based on cooperative gameplay from both brothers. Kinda like in SuperStar Saga, only less power-leveling, and more power-platforming. You control both bros at the same time. Arrow keys for Mario, WASD for Luigi. The game can just as easily be played by 2 people, for some super coordinated platforming action. |

Good point. I was definitely aware of the 3 button limitation on some keyboards when I started this project. I can't assume everyone will have a gamepad connected, so I have to include all the moves onto the keyboard.
But you can bet your ass, I will add gamepad support before this is finished. and to tell you the truth, its not like you are truly controlling both guys at the exact same time. Sure, both bros. can walk and jump simultaneously, but most people will only be focused on using one guy at a time. Ever play The Lost Vikings? Think in those terms. In that game you "controlled" 3 Vikings at a time too. Basically you would switch focus on each character to take advantage of his particular move set. That's how my game will be. Puzzly, and open, not so much twitch action and pixel perfect jumps. Mario and Luigi will have different powers to help get them both through each level. |

My real world collection is not impressive at all, and I guess neither is this photo. But I sure had fun playing all four games simultaneously. I need to increase my resolution and add the old gameboy Castlevania games, as well as the NDS one. I can emulate it enough to show pretty pics.
Controlling the side scrollers all at once was actually not that difficult, unfortunately, Legacy of Darkness with its too cool for school 3D worlds are a bit harder to navigate when paired up with its older generation brethren.  |

I am gonna get Pearl for the simple fact that most people want Diamond. Therefore, whatever exclusively pokemon are in Pearl will be that much more scarce. (I'm assuming there are exclusive pokemon in each version)
It doesn't matter much, I have two very close freinds who are Pokefanatics and will most likely help me out with any pokemon I might need. What I want to know though, is exactly which older generation Pokemon are in Pearl/Diamond. I really want to end up with a full pokedex, I need to find out if I need to get LeafGreen/FireRed or Sapphire/Ruby or both if I want to complete the entire pokedex. *Heads of to Gamefaqs* Doh, I need em all.. |

Posted by cpubasic13 Yeah, that first Gym can be a doozy. I had to reset 3 times after losing to the leader. I then went onto play the rest of the game (including beating the Elite 4) without ever dieing again. Crazy
Anyways, does anyone know how to breed and stuff? I have never actually bred in Pokemon games before, but this time I want to get into it. I have a male level 57 Empoleon and a level 23 ditto. I put them in the daycare so that I could get a pinlup egg. The daycare man says that they don't like each other. Will they still produce an egg? If not, what can I do to get them to like each other. Do I need to catch a different ditto? |

Sweet! I got the egg and it took about 2700 steps to hatch. That was WITH a Camerupt in my party who has the Magma armor ability. So without him it would have taken 5400? Yikes. Actually I just read that the ability only lowers the required steps by 1 third, not half. but whatever, I got myself a level 1 Piplup..cool.
I am going to now breed my Torterra and Infernape. If anyone wants to trade for the babies, let me know and I will list my friend code. Thanks for the info Alastor and Trapster. |

Ha, this breeding stuff is pretty damn cool. I just bred 2 piplups, 2 turtwigs and 2 chimchars in like a span of 15 minutes. I just bicycled up and down through Solaceon town and its sorrounding routes.
Anyways, like most people i want to complete my pokedex, not capture everthign, but at least have their description in the dex. I am assuming that if I battle someone with say..a Lugia, that then Lugia's pokedex info will be filled in. If so, does anyone have a Lugia or some other legendary so that we may battle and fill in my dex. My code is : 4940 2039 4519 |

Tragedy! You cannot fill in pokedex entries from battling someone over wifi..my master plan has been completely utterly foiled. I just battled cpubasic with my dialga, whom he did not have the dex info yet. After the battle, he still did not have Dialga dex info.. damn!
Looks like I am going to actually trade and get all those crazy legendaries if I want to complete my dex.. So..anyone have a mew/mewtwo/lugia/ho-oh/groudon/kyogre/celebi? I will trade it back, really. I just want the dex info to be fileld in. Ask cpubasic, I am an honorable man..

Wow, that be great man. I just bred some Azurills and Pichus, just list your code and what you want and I will be happy to give you one. Or a Piplup/chimchar/turtwig if you prefer.
Also, does that underground thing work over wifi. Apparently, I need to walk into someone else's Secret Base 32 times to open up a place where Spirittomb can be caught. Anyone willing to help, obliviously, you can go into my base too so that you can get Spiritomb too. |

Did you friend trade you a monferno, or do you mean chimchar? Hell, with a Monferno, the first couple gyms should be a cakewalk. Water weasel guy is prolly Bidoof. he's the rattata/sentret/zigzagoon of Pearl/Diamond..only even more pathetic.
Anyways, hope to trade battle with ya firephoenix. Alastor, I added you to f list and am willing to battle anytime. Trapster, ok thanks for clarifying. Have you done this and captured a spiritomb? I alredy have the odd keystone, just need to talk to the people. |

Im up for a battle anytime. Right now, my team would consist of
61 Dialga, 61 Empoleon, 62 Torterra, 59 Infernape, and then I guess I would just throw in 50 Uxie and 50 Azlef to fill out the group. I have Mespirit down to red energy, I just need to find her one more time, mean look her, then hypnosis her, and boom should be easy enough to catch. |

Where the heck do you people find all these shiny pokemon? I have been playing Pokemon since the original Red/Blu for Gameboy. I played Gold/Silver to death, as well as Ruby and Fire Red on emulators. I have never encountered a shiny pokemon.
Anyways, I just recently got a hold of an Eevee and I read that it has 2 new forms. Can anyone elaborate on how to to get Leafeon and Glaceon. Does eevee just have to level up while holding these moss and ice rocks? Does he have to be happy/day/night? Where do you find these rocks? I looked in an Item FAQ, and it did not list these rocks at all. O and by the way..I just caught Heatran, Giratina and Mespirit. They each took around 8-13 Dusk balls to catch, not too shabby. Now i just need to catch Creselia. |

Thanks for the info. I completely forgot about those mysterious rocks. I now have breed a bunch of eevees and have every single type, except for the dark type Umbreon. I got tired of making Eevee happy enough to evolve into Espeon.
I swear, happiness evolution is the most difficult task in this game. It was less trouble to catch Giratina, Mespirit and Creselia put together. Anyways, I also bred a bunch of Tyrogues and have Hitmolee, Hitmonchan and Hitmontop (I got him by accident, I didn't even feed him any stat boosters to ensure they'd be the same) I also bred some Porygons. If anyone wants to help me trade em so they can evolve to Porygon 2, and then Porygon -Z, I will be happy to give you one just so that we can trade back and forth and evolve em. Of course I only have 1 up-grade and 1 dubious data, so you will have to come up with those items. I can tell you where the items are. The up-grade is in Oaks house: Once you get the national Pokédex, Professor Oak will give you this. His House is in Eterna city near the bottom of town. Make sure you have already visited the Pal Park or Oak wont be in his house. You don't actually have to use the Pal Park, just enter its lobby. The Dubious Disk: Rt. 225 - north of the electrician's house, surf across the lake to get to this. Of course I am willing to trade any of these Pokemons I have mentioned for a mew/mewtwo/lugia/ho-oh/groudon/kyogre/celebi/Zapdos/ Moltres/Articuno/Entei/Suicine/(the other dog)/rayquaza I dont care about natures and such, so its all good. |

FUCK YEAH INDEED!!
Starcraft was THE game that pulled me away from my Nintendo 64 and kept me hooked. It introduced me to PC gaming, battle.net showed me the wonders of online play and I finally found out what exactly an RTS was. I have not built myself a computer in over almost 6 years now. Starcraft 2 WILL be the reason to spend the big bucks on a new comp. My life for Aiur! |

Posted by Gywall Yeah, you only really NEED defog for Turnback cave when going after Giratina after beating the elite four. Also, after beating the elite four, a new path in Victory road cave opens where Defog is needed because of the maze like nature of that area. cpubasic, you gonna transfer your Ruby starter? Even if you dont, do you think you could breed your starter in Ruby and then transfer the baby once it hatches? I will be happy to trade you any 1st or 4th gen starter, or any Eevee type, or alot of other stuff I've mentioned in previous threads, thanks. Currently, my pokedex reads 284/493 Anyone have all 493? Oh, and thanks again fabio. Edit  peaking of Turnback cave and Giratina, has anyone gone back into Giratina's room after catching him? I read somewhere that any random item can be back there.
The first trip back there, I found a reaper cloth. Second and third trips I found a rare bone which i think are just like nuggets that can be sold for lots a of money, which would make them useless. I was really hoping I could find an EXP share. Has anyone found something different there? |

I am assuming you have not found Palkia/Dialga up on the summit. Here is an excerpt from the walkthrough I referred to when I got stuck.
Once you have exited Mount Coronet Cave and are on the summit(with the snow and grass area): "1. Head east, north, use Rock Climb. 2. Go west, south, a bit more west, and head north into the cave. 3. Use Rock Climb and follow the path in the cave east to the exit. 4. Climb down the stairs in the peak and then use Rock Climb in the chasm to climb the western rocks. 5. Keep heading west until you get to a cave. 6. It's straightforward from here on in, so just keep following the path and you'll get there." Some Galactic grunts will follow and then a galactic boss, and then Palkia/Dialga. Remember, do not use your Master ball on Dialga/Palkia. It would be a huge waste. I swear to you, I caught Dialga with exactly 1 Dusk Ball. His energy was in the red and he was asleep. First try, took less than a minute. Also, I feel like collecting all the berries. Does anyone have any berries #27-64? I have berries #1-26 and 44,52. I would be willing to trade all that stuff I mentioned before for some exotic berries. |
