I sent a PM to my partner, Colin. No response. His bio doesn't list any contact info. I have only connected to the IRC channel about 3 times, a lot of people were on, but not Colin.

If you can hear this Colin..lets do this, don't be intimidated, I utterly suck at puzzle games.

Alrighty, well. I am not sure why nobody decided to comment. I don't think my game is all that bad. Anywho, I finally finished it.

I pretty much tweaked the entire engine. Added some doodads here, polished some thingamabobs there.

Total there are 25 stages. 14 Regular Maze levels. 6 Boss Levels and 5 Bonus Levels. Two songs I made myself. Two weapons and 4 Boss types. Main ship and enemy ships's sprites contributed by fellow Gamemaker users over in Gamemaker Community

Hopefully, this version will garner more comments. Have fun. Just unzip anywhere and play. Download ChaosSPace2.zip [4.9 MB]

I'd make a game where you control a little space ship and fly around mazes and shoot stuff. I would have bonus levels, boss fights and different weapon types. as well as original graphics and sound.

Oh wait a sec...

Then after that, I would make a DKC type of platformer, but with Banjo-Kazooie. You would collect notes, and puzzle pieces, learn your moves from Bottles and of course fight Gruntilda and her minions.

More specifically, I want to be able to pull off that Interweaving Music effect that Banjo Kazooie and its sequel did.

You know, in the Castle Tower Hub, the same basic melody played in every area, but as you moved from, for example, the desert themed area, to the Winter land Area, xylophones and horns would replace oboes and violins in the music.

Ive always loved that music effect.

Peter Framtpon's Fingerprints

Its just so damn refreshing to hear his classic skillful playing. I feel all is right in the world when I listen to this. And of course his Black Hole Sun cover is to die for.

Thom Yorke's The Eraser

A self-fulfilling prophecy of endless possibility You roll in reams across the street In algebra, in algebra The fences that you cannot climb The sentences that do not rhyme In all that you can ever change The one you're looking for It gets you down It gets you down There's no spark No light in the dark It gets you down It gets you down You traveled far What have you found That there's no time here's no time To analyse To think things through To make sense Like cows in the city, they never looked so pretty By power carts and blackouts Sleeping like babies It gets you down It gets you down You're just playing a part You're just playing a part You're playing a part Playing a part And there's no time There's no time To analyse Analyse Analyse

The Departed. Now that was some good stuff. Great performances from pretty much everybody. My favorite is Alec Baldwin's character...."I'm gonna get a smoke, you wanna join me, what you don't smoke, what are you one of those health freaks, go fuck yourself."

Wahlberg, equally impressive with his put downs and such.

Also, has anyone seen The Prestige. Oh my lord is that movie fucking bad ass! And like NO one has seen it. After you've seen it once and seen the all the twists and secrets, watch it again. Its unbelievable, but just about every single line of dialogue has some hidden meaning or foreshadows something later in the movie or can be interpreted in multiple ways that all make perfect sense.

Great filmmaking.

Greatest movie I have seen in years. I don't see how you can possibly say this is a "By the numbers" type of movie. How many movies tell their stories in this fragmented type of style? Where they jump from past and future continuously throughout the whole movie. AND it actually greatly enhances the story instead of unnessasarily over complicating it?

As for Toxic's Spoiler Comment...

Spoiler:
You have to look at the end result and not the means by which he achieved his result. Yes, the Magical Cloning Device is a little too far-fetched, but its what "Van Helsing" does with it that creates the dark, twisted situation.

You know, a concept that hasn't really been discussed are new items. Every item in Smash Bros, and Melee came from a character's universe.

Mario has his shells, Pikachu his Pokeballs, Samus her Screw Attack, Ness's Mr. Saturn...

What you Solid Snake bring? We saw a cardboard box in the trailer, maybe you can use it to..umm hide in some way?

If Sonic is included, maybe he'd bring his shield thngy, I don't I'm not familiar with Sonic Powerups. It couldn't be his Speed shoes, since the bunny hood covers that.

If they add Simon Belmont to the roster, his cross or maybe his axe would kick ass.

We already know Wario is a newcomer. I cant think of what item he'd bring to the fight though.

Really? I didn't know that. So, pray tell me, what did Marth bring in? Captain Falcon? Maybe Mr.G&W? See, I... this... bah, I don't know how to continue without getting on someone's nerves. So I'll just stop here.

I did not say every character brought an item..I said every item came from some character in game. But like, Darkthunder said, the party ball and laser sword did not...

But you guys get my point no? ..sheeshh..

Fine, the game will have no new items. There ya happy?

Guys, can you please calm down and do what Zem asks us to do. I for instance will probably jump up and/or down when this comes out. Such an amazing concept and graphics that have real personality and style. This looks likes its going to utterly out do Mario Sunshine. Sunshine was such a disappointment.

Super Paper Mario is actually something fresh and interesting, I really hope they don't skimp on the levels though. NSMB was too short and easy. I'm hoping the challenge level gets high and stays there for a good chunk of the game.

After months of hard work. The greatest game ever is here. Bowser has cunningly kidnapped Princess Peach, and is keeping her captive in his Space Base! Mario runs for his Space Ship, only to find it completely trampled. Signs of Koopa Paratroopa butt marks can be seen all over the ship's hull.

Mario asks Luigi for help. Bravely, Luigi offers his own body to save the helpless Peach. Aboard his LuigiShip "TM", Mario blasts off into space in search of Bowser.

Collect you fireball power up, shoot down blocks. Avoid thwomps and Mr. I's. Battle against merciless Koopa Paratroopas and prepare for Mario's greatest battle against Bowser.

Hey that's pretty damn cool Chaos. SO many possibilities for your SM "World" concept. I'm thinking level design might be a bit tough to make fun while keeping a "City" style. But nevertheless, great stuff. Oh, and I cant wait to play your new SMB Castle hack.

Oh man oh man. I really hope this project doesn't die. As you can plainly see by all these positive comments, everyone wants this hack finished. If there is absolutely anything you want help with let me know.

Anything that is except GFX, since compared to you Icegoom, my graphic skills are a micro-goomba to your King Boo.

I played it for a good 5 minutes. It was interesting, but was quite generic. You could have stuck any character in there...

Oh the irony..

See, if I stick just any old character...

Thanks for the comments Higsby and Metal Man88. This turned more into a social experiment type of thing than just a fan game.

That is just the way society is. We fear the unknown and feel warm and fuzzy when we see something familiar. Been like that since time began, and will never change. Affects games just like every other aspect of life.

Unfortunately, this poses a dilemma for all game makers, professional and amateur alike. People complain about getting the same game over and over, beg for something new and fresh, but then ironically spend their time and money on the familiar and conventional. That is perfectly fine, and can't be considered "wrong."

But it does create this very prickly situation. Chaos Space 2 and Mario' Space Journey are the same game. I finished making Chaos Space 2 bout a week ago, posted it and has been collecting virtual dust since. I swapped my original space ship and maze graphics for Mario and friends graphics ..boom.. instant attention. And I'm not talking about useless praises to inflate my ego. People can now suggest improvements, offer their services, resulting in a genuinely BETTER game in the end.

What a simple Mario graphic swap can accomplish is astounding.

I plan on making more games. I'm finding Gamemaker to be a very enjoyable program to use. But I am at odds with myself because of this realization. Should I make a futuristic action/adventure shooter with power-ups, huge overworld and epic boss battles.. or a Super Metroid Fan game..?

Oh and thanks for the gif Sonicandfails.

Yikes, that is one tough cookie. For a TI83 game, that's pretty impressive though. I can totally see myself playing this an entire 3rd Period Geology Class, that is if I was still in school.

Great work Dwedit

You really seem to have put alot of thought into these levels fabio. I cant wait to play this. Great job. By the way, are you planing on hacking every level? Will your hack have the same amount of levels as the original?

Its a shame so many people cant get it to work (I had no problems whatsoever) Because this is one of THE BEST hacks ever, never mind the best YI hack, but best hack of any game. I was absolutely glued to my controller. I could not put it down. Every single facet of the hack is utterly perfect.

I love how Golden Yoshi kept to a theme in every level. And I'm not talking about aesthetic theme, but I mean level design theme. "Yoshi and friends" level contained poochi, those rolly guys you can push, and that purple blob that lets you jump on spikes. "Grand Theft Mario", every enemy can steal Mario.

Every level had variety in enemies and obstacles, literally never a dull moment. Difficulty was perfect too. Thank GOD Golden Yoshi didn't make this a hard hack right from world 1.

Quite frankly, I think these first levels are so good, I cant fathom Golden Yoshi keeping the quality high the entire hack. I hope he proves me wrong.

Ailure and I went ahead and played our match already. Hopefully this will spur more people to play their rounds early and not wait till the day before.

Anyways, Ailure got the jump on me real good. I lost nasty the first round 3-0
I got my bearings after that and won the 2nd match. The 3rd round was full of counter explosions and tense comebacks. Boom 2-3 I won!

Good Game

There are now video abaut my super mario pro:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uJ-OXZEO9RA

You can tell this is a Gamemaker game. I can clearly recognize the game resources window at the end of the video. Looks like you have a half decent platform engine there Legoman. I too am programming a Mario game on Gamamaker.

Its defenetly not video demo ready, but here's a screenshot.
