Well, I'm working on a Zelda 3 hack that's nearly ready for a complete runthrough, and I've been playing Parrallel Worlds. One of the major things that intrigued me was the area name ASM that they used. I was wondering if anyone knew where I could get a hold of it for my own project?

Who was it, NEONswift? I can't remember if it was him or not off the top of my head.

Euclid doesn't seem to have a profile here, unless he goes under some other name. Dang. Maybe I'll ask Seph, see if he knows anything about it. Thanks for your help, Celice and AlgebraOnToiletpaper.

I'm too lazy for that. And I have come across a problem with Zcompress. I keep getting this error "too many parameters" and its really starting to annoy me. Does anyone know about that?

Sorry, haven't checked Acmlm in a bit. I typed into the command prompt Zcompress 0 Z3H.smc ALLGFX.bin. I already copied Command Prompt into the folder I was using, so it defaulted the address there

I also haven't gotten around to finishing the monologues yet, so a chunk of the story is left unexplained. I'll fill in the gaps here.

The game is set three years after the "Rockvan wars," where Hyrule was invaded by a country called Rockvan. Rockvan ends up seizing most of Hyrule and razing Hyrule Castle. It was discovered that Rockvan supplies and troops have been arriving in Hyrule via a magic teleporter, the Gargann. 7 magicians are called on to place a seal on Hyrule to block the Gargann's abilities. Without supplies, Rockvan troops pull out. Three years later, Prince Samora is in power, and the seven sealists have vanished. Zelda is the only one left. The player is a captain in the Hylian army, and receives a message from Zelda. And so the story unwinds.

I haven't played any of those, although I have played Shards of Might and Parallel Worlds. Everything in the overworld is mostly in place, large chunks of the monologue are done. The only incomplete things are the second and third dark world levels and the crypt, a hidden level placed under the grave in the area west of your house. I don't recommend entering it until I do complete it. The dungeon gives Byrna as a reward, but requires a lot of patience (and hearts) to do, plus you can't leave since the main objective of the place is to unlock the door out.

Sorry its taking so long to get the next update ready. I've been a little busy with Christmas and hav just needed to kick back and relax a bit. The next update will be fairly large though. I'm finishing the Captain's sprites off, I've modified a number of enemies, I've banged my head into my desk repeatedly over a number of unexpected glitches (eg, a number of AI changes, even though I've gone nowhere near that sstuff) though I have altered a few so I can use them. I've modified the dark world dungeons' interiors to reflect Rockvanian architecture, I've done more work on the Crypt and the incomplete Runoff Channels dungeons, and I've done a crapload of work on the monologue. I've started preparing new final boss sprites (I'm keeping these under wraps for now) I've modified a number of things using YY-CHR, but due to an unfortunate mistake on my behalf, I won't be able to insert my new stuff into this game. The two remaining medallions can now be found and used, and the Mirror shield is nearly ready. The third sword is nearly redy to be placed, though it'll be a pain to acquire. Rockvan Magicians are nearly ready to go in as an enemy, and Rockvan bowmen will soon be armed with crossbows. Yeah, expect a ton of stuff and a few fixes here and there.

Thanks for the feedback. I'll give you a hint for the first dark world level:
Not everything is as it appears. Especially the arrowed floors.

The big key door in the crypt was meant to do that. I wanted people to go hunting through the maze of death on the bottom floor for the key for a while before realizing it shares Fort Ranger's.

In the Ganon's tower level (The Seige Tower), you need to think about that. You do have something else you can use to kill the biri that doesn't include medallions.

The chest with the map is my fault. I'll hunt through it and remove it for the next update, which should be ready in a day or two. (Currently Febuary 5th.)

The glitched graphics in the desert I have known about for a while. I just never really bothered to fix them yet. Don't know why, I'm just lazy.

I plan on using those caves that don't work, or at least one of them. I'll probably remove the other.

That portal was a debug thing I was using so I could move freely between worlds.

If you can't find some dungeons, just go hunting. Rockvan doesn't have enemies (yet) so just go hunting.

Trust me, my new water dungeon in the second world, the Floodgates, will be just as epic as the ship and the first water dungeon. Trust me on that.

Technically, both canes are both in large chests. Byrna happens to be in a chest you already have the key for.

If you're still looking for the hole, search the around the area below your house in the southeast corner.

I have also updated the file. HURRAY!

The bush you want is directly north of that pit. I really should have made the guards point it out better.

I don't know if patching it to an already patched copy works. I believe it should, though.

As for changes, they're all in the readme. I copy them here, though.

Sprites and Graphics-
-Finished Link's Graphics
-Edited the Rockvan soldier's shield to look more realistic.
-Added RK soldiers to replace Dark World cows.
-New Rockvan dungeon walls!
-Rockvan crossbowman now carries crossbow (though its hard to tell)
-Added Garo (currently they aren't enemies)
-New pendant designs.

Overworld-
-Moved Rebel HQ
-Removed cave near witch's hut.

Dungeons-
-Fixed a glitch in my first dungeon, unfortunately by removing the Armos knights as the boss, as the shake on the last one went out of control
-Finished Rockvan floodgates level
-More work on the Crypt
-More work on the Vault (I am aware of an unfinished room near the big chest)
-Modified Sloop's cargo holds a bit.

Other-
-Script changes. Lots of script changes.

Thanks for the criticism and compliments, though I can tell you definetely aren't a hardcore uber-zelda player. Two tricks that you'll need are the boot and bomb jump. Bomb jumping involves planting a bomb and using the explosion to hop gaps. If you ever play Euclid and SePH's Parrallel Worlds hack, you better be good at it. Bomb jumping has a bit of an element of luck involved. The second one is the boot jump. f you run into a wall with the boots, you get sent flying back. You can use that to leap a pit.

The game's definetely harder. Alltp is a bit easy, Para. Worlds is a pain, I wanted mine to offer stiff resistance to the player. But you should see the stuff that was cut from the final version.

I'm looking at Link's graphics right now that I exported from the same version of RoR that's here. In the editor, he no longer has his hat, and he doesn't have it when I play. Try doing a normal save, that might fix the promblem. Otherwise, I'll investigate it a bit, see what happens.

EDIT: It appears I didn't change the link for the file correctly. Simply redownload it now.

The original version drove my test-player insane. The only thing left from those days is the Sea of Flames dungeon, which I plan on rebuilding, though I will likely retain the same "puzzle" theme there.

The original would have made Euclid and SePH's beamos obsession look easy. If you ever bother hitting the Crypt of the Damned, there's a large, dark, spike and fire-chain thing infested maze that you had to drag a statue through, though that part isn't in the criteria now. It took my play tester a couple hours and more than a few fairies to pull off.

I just downloaded it fine, though I've only ever tested it on SNES9X and the PSP version of it. I can't guarantee that it will work on ZSNES.

And I kept the triangles yellow. How Strange...

You're going the right way. That crystal switch is unnessecary to beat the dungeon. You use the keys from the dungeon's wings to locate the crystal switch you need to press.

You're on track.

I'll give you guys a checklist of what still needs to be completed for this to be officially a full hack instead of a beta in my eyes.

Crypt of the Damned - Finish off one final room.
Sea of Flames - Some rooms need tweaking
Ancient Vault - One room needs tweaking
Palace of Frost - Add some enemies, ice over some rooms.
Rockvan Overworld- Sprites need to be placed, add some details to the shoreline
Hyrule Overworld - Sprites and items on the overworld
Monologue - Fixing existing script to fit right, modifying the crystal scripts.

Add heart pieces (24 to go)
Add quake and ether
Place sword 3 in new location, find a spot for sword 4.

And there is also just random stuff I want to try to do, but that won't effect gameplay, like adding a number of half-built trebuchets to the Rockvan overworld and destroyed ones somewhere in the Hylian overworld.

Sorry its taken a while to respond. Whenever it rains or snows here, my internet, phones, and occasionally power fail. But go ahead, I wouldn't mind if someone did a youtube playthrough of it. Just send me a link
