I've been done with Epic Edit for years, but still come back to it once in a while.
I also review contributions (there have been some earlier this year). The source code is not quite as nice as I'd like it to be, but it's still relatively easy to work on. |

Glad it inspired you.
For some reason, all of my game projects must include Jesus. Here's the latest one. You can see how much my art has improved since Epic Racers. Well, it has been 14 years since I've drawn the Epic Racers player select art, so there's that. |

Here's: Epic Edit 2.9.
Not much is new, but it's a feature I've wanted since the beginning: - Tilesets are now exported and imported as indexed images (PNG8 / BMP8). This makes it possible to preserve color indexes when a palette contains the same color multiple times. (e.g: Koopa Beach with the water color cycling) - Importing an indexed road tileset image will also update all color palettes and road tile / color palette associations. This solves issues such as how the Koopa Beach tiles could get messed up on update. Also, now you can fully manage your road tilesets and all of their colors from a single image... well, as long as your graphics editor properly supports indexed images. |
