Posted by Zem Yeah, that too... The already suggested (long ago) "Re[number]: " is fine. |

Posted by Kernal Many boards have mails sent automatically when new PMs arrive by default, but I've never seen one that does that for thread replies... Anyway, I wouldn't mind it if PM mails were off by default. |

About the new site, I'm not a fan of the flashy green links... but other than that, it's good. |

As for the last screenshot, those new colors are nice, but they look a bit dull / washed out, not colorful enough for a Mario game, compared to the other version... So I'd stick with the other version, or try to come up with another one. |

I used Thunderbird at work last year, it's cool... but at home, I've been using The Bat! for a while now.
The reason I originally moved away from Outlook was because it took ages to open a folder with over a thousand mails... But after importing all those mails in The Bat!, they could be displayed instantly. |

On a side note, I know of a talented music maker who could make or remake musics for you in MIDI format. |

It would be nice if threads like this one wouldn't derail into yet another lame browser war argument. |

Posted by Thexare Blademoon I don't think so, I've got 2.0.0.2 and no problem whatsoever. |

I think you shouldn't bother with compatibility, and just stop supporting the version without quotes... |

Not a bug, but I thought I'd let you know of a nice page about PHP optimizations I stumbled accross recently, that helps you make your code a bit faster...
http://www.estvideo.com/dew/index/page/phpbench It's in French, but you don't really need to understand the language, only to check each image which shows the speed differences between similar functions (green bar = fastest, yellow bar = slowest)... |

Posted by Xkeeper Still good to know, to change your habits... Besides, steps 4 and 5 of the echo vs print part don't show a "small" difference, when echo is 5 times faster... And yeah, I noticed Acmlm's Board v1.x is filled with prints. I just changed them all to echo on my board, just for the hell of it (quite fast to do that with Notepad++, as it finds and replaces all matches in a blink)... But if you ever do that too, watch out not to change "print mysql_error()" to "echo mysql_error()", as that'll give you an error... |

Posted by Kernal That crossed my mind, and that may be the case when there is very little difference between print and echo, but not in other cases. I heard print returns (or can return) a boolean while echo doesn't, which further explains why it's slower... |

Yeah. But it'd require more than that to fix the problem... Like usernames with ] in them, and stuff, which would also break the old quote tag. |

Jnes seems quite fast to me, although the least advanced computer I've ever tried it on was a 200 MHz... But it was full speed. |

Sooo... I'd like to display SNES color palettes in my editor (coded in C++). Any tips ?
I know colors are defined by 2 bytes, so 4 figures... The first figure could be the alpha channel, while the 3 others are the RGB ones, or something ? Can anyone direct me to some documentation, or program sources ? I'm currently having a look at the sources of Tile Molester, but there may be something better for me to look at... Thanks. |

I'm still confused... 1+5+5+5 = 16, so that's just one byte out of 4 then ?
Got other examples other than black and white ? Thanks... |

Ah okay, I get it better...
Although I have no idea how to handle colors if they are shared like that. For example, the 3rd figure is 3g and 1r... How do you deal with that ? So changing that figure will affect both the green and the red ? Or maybe I should just not set my editor to hex mode, but to another one that'd display 16 figures rather than 4 ? I need to study that more... |
