Actually, they apparently set up an exception, redirecting people only if they are trying to access the archives from the acmlm.no-ip.org domain. If you copy and paste the URLs, or access them from other places, they'll work fine.

That's lame. :\

I've seen boards that are even worse...one board I went to would trap EDITS with the flood control! I couldn't go back to fix a typo right after I submitted a post!

Besides, it makes things much more convenient for some tasks...

And well, what would a such admin panel have that wouldn't be quickly done by PMA for now? :/

- Quick IP searches / bans / etc
- A nice user deletion feature (that doesn't make the user's posts disappear, or maybe leaves you the choice and deletes them properly)
- A nicely formated action log (I made one for my board)
- Managing the smilies and Photo Album when there's one... You can't do that with PMA
- etc...

I think things like IP search should have it's pages though, clicking a link in a user profile is most faster than going into PMA and doing the right query.

Pages that could be accessed from both the admin panel and from user profiles, I'd say.

It would prevent people from posting abusive content and then changing it before a staff member sees it, and if someone reports abusive content the staff can fully review the allegation. Also it would prevent data loss if a staff member goes on a power trip or thier password is compromised.

On the other hand, it would take up a fair load of database space, making backups bigger, etc... *shrugs*

I like knowing when edits are made and by whom.

Generally, you don't need to know... Maybe set up a very short time limit, so you're pretty much sure it was only a cosmetic fix, and not a total content change.

Point taken, but I think many of those could be spread out whether they are in a panel or not. eg. Photo album managment linked from the photo album, IP bans initiated from ipsearch or online users, etc..

The reason I asked was to know whether it was possible to manage the whole board from the board itself, without having to use PMA. So whether there is an actual panel or just admin page links everywhere, whatever... Although having both is preferable, in my opinion.

Taking suggestions for more preset formats now; if it is required, I can add a "custom" option too.

I had missed that post, nice... Although the hour format syntax may confuse non-coders. It may be good to add a little text/description or link, explaining what you can do, such as changing the lowercase h to an uppercase one to switch to a 24h format.
