found a recent problem with the 3.0 version.

pressing START to bring up the weapons/items screen and then pressing SELECT afterwards does something weird (see my recent comment on the RHDN forum).
I had to press START twice to clear up the "weird" glitch and close the weapons/items menu.

shouldn't the SELECT button be used to quickly switch special weapons while in a normal game and "not" on the weapons/items screen when pressing START? the SELECT button should only be functional when not viewing the weapons/items screen


edit 7/17 - whoopsie; my mistake. it turned out to be a custom color palette config problem in FCEUX.
disabled either Custom Palette and/or turned off the NTSC Color Emulation option in FCEUX Palette dialog box and things work as expected in v3.0 of Megaman3 Improvement. I kinda forgot I had a custom palette option enabled for a vastly different game and seemed to have caused some minor color or palette problems in MM3 improvement.

pressing START & SELECT to bring up the Exit dialog box worked correctly in Nestopia, PuNES, MESEN as well as FCEUX when not using certain custom palette schemes.

well I had fun playing all of the Roll-Chan games the past several months

but check out this game called Mega Man the Sequel Wars

Roll is an optional but playable character in that game but has slightly different abilities than in Roll Chan 4 & other Roll Chan games. check out this pic (w/ awesome 16bit sega genesis graphics)



currently a remake of Megaman 4 is the only playable game in Sequel Wars

The Cutting Room Floor (TCRF) and SegaRetro sites have all the latest info for Mega Man: The Wily Wars, including both the Sega Genesis mini and the late 2021 re-released "Retro-Bit" editions of the game. changes between the Genesis mini/Megadrive mini & Retro-bit versions are noted on those sites. and it also got released for Nintendo Switch Online in mid-2022 as well.

I'm happy to report that the Legend of Link game now works fully correctly in the newest version of the puNES emulator released in late February 2024 (v0.111).

save data in the 3 game save slots are retained & remembered upon power off/on cycle and/or "hard" reset in the newest version of puNES, whereas previous versions from v0.110 & older would "forget" or not retain all save game data when hard resetting or powering off, then powering on the puNES emulator (as if all save data was erased), except when "soft" resetting where that would keep/retain game saves.

Thanks. Yeah that game looks quite interesting. Pretty cool that someone programmed the whole game from scratch. I’ve been occasionally keeping an eye on it.


and it looks like the Sequel Wars game will eventually have an Episode Blue game (based on the Megaman 5 NES game), according to this video released several days ago near the beginning of April 2024.
