<3 Chrome. Very usable, and quite honestly the UI is perfect. Maybe it's just me, but the available feature-set fits my browsing style, and I've not had any problems with javascript or anything... well, discounting the fact that it completely kills certain ad javascript (but that's nothing to complain about, is it?) because it breaks DOM security

The Resource Inspector is nice too, though view-source was a little buggy last I checked (seriously, it mangled a sourceview on some inline javascript once)
EDIT:

Did they ever fix that bug where typing in '%' in the address bar crashed the whole application?

Yes, just tried it and it defaulted to a google search for '%' which is basically what you'd expect Chrome to do on anything that isn't a URL.

It's a clever concept, although not THAT new, it's just that those guys at the website are simply pushing the envelope as far as they can, in terms of marketing. Anyway, that put aside, basic math makes me sceptic quite a little. I took a screenshot of my desktop, without worrying about real-world representativity in a gaming environment, it's just for the test. With a resolution of 1024 x 768, I get a PNG of 908 KB.

908 KB x 30 FPS = 27240 KB/s = 26,6016 MB/s = 212,8125 Mbit/s
908 KB X 60 FPS = 54480 KB/s = 53,2031 MB/s = 425,625 Mbit/s

I consider my connection quite fast for normal house cable Internet, and I get a theoretical maximum of 7.5 Mbit/s in download. Looks quite far from what is remotely possible. So what's the catch?

The problem here is that you're using a lossless scheme, possibly not the most efficient one, and probably at 24 or 32 bit colour.

Compare to, say, a high-quality JPEG at a lower bit depth. These are games, not static images. A little noise is not going to ruin the experience.

My parents are worried about it, so from late March 31st to early April 2nd our router's gonna be unplugged

But as far as Conficker goes, it certainly *sounds* nasty. Myself, I'm going to end up backing up my info and wiping sensitive stuff (classic CYA stuff because I've got my name on an NDA), but apart from that I wonder what'll happen.

For the record guys, the Baserom isn't needed to do anything. Although it has a bunch of little hacks to make it easier to design levels, there's nothing saying you need to have them to make any levels or such.

Main Site

So apparently this game has been in the works for years now, and about all that's left to be done is your standard-fare RTS material (graphics, sound, storyline, etc). What makes this such a different game from most RTSes is that it's not an RTS at all - it's an MTS (short for Meta-Time Strategy) game.

Derived from "Achronological", Achron is a strategy game where players have the ability to revisit the game's past, effectively rewriting the timeline of their game (to a limited degree). The three demo videos on the main site show this rather interestingly, as does the "The Strategies" Blog entry further down the main page.

Needless to say, I'm going to buy this when it comes out

I'll assume you're tried rebooting, but try fiddling with your Realtek control panel (or starting it if you turned it off). I have a Realtek audiocard in here, and my front (back according to the software) panel jacks won't respond at all without that software running, and if it's glitched they'll also stop working.

Hieda is right. That's one of the 'unalterable' counters with SMWSBE, though normally it's obscured by the larger-sized counter.

..Can we get a sound-off of everyone who's still interested in working on this? There's been good progress behind the scenes, but one thing we still don't have is level contributions that have gotten through

So yeah, just seeing if the frontpage is used by anybody. Do you use it, why/why not, and what would you like to see added to the frontpage?

That's fine, but regardless, we do not allow ROMs to be posted on the board if they contain copyrighted content. This is why we use patches, they only contain the changes, not the original content.

Sorry, generally if a project isn't being mentioned it's not happening. You could see if one's been done on romhacking.net, but otherwise, you're probably going to have to do it yourself if you want it done.
