I was doing fairly well, but then the supports I had placed in the main workshop failed
I thought of a novel fire extinguisher system to deal with the fact that Spoiler: dwarves apparently like wearing flaming Pants (see the FIRE page on the DF wiki) |

Taking another shot at it... Got some floodgates, etc. set up and creating a dual-source irrigation system (mostly because I haven't reached the uderground river yet )
Fun game, though. |

nice * note XD
BTW, by dual-source I mean from either river. I 'spose creating a permaflood in a (stone) box might work too |

Nice! I can't say too much at the moment, but I will I'm keeping an eye on this.
Also just got inspired to write ACTUAL CODE for my homebrew game as well, thanks! |

Posted by smkdan Well, there are two possible solutions to this, and combining them together is probably best. First off is an extra-large ROM. For example, my homebrew (used as example), is going to be 8MBytes, since I need the extra space for a large audio file (streamed to the SPC, yay!). Likewise, instead of an audio file, you could store the video file in the extra space. The other option would be to compress teh video, although for this you may want to invest in an exprea processor such as the SA-1 (10Mhz.) or SuperFX (21Mhz, loads of free cycles). Note that the 8MB ROM option comes pre-equipped with the SA-1. Ideally, the best solution would use a combination of compression and a larger ROM (though not nessesarily an 8 MByte ROM like me). |

Looks good, overall. Few things-
First off, the outer border in the title screen is a little eye-searing, at least for me. Secondly, in the switch-palace-tileset levels, I do believe there are actually proper corner tiles. If not, PM me and I'll send you some. For the "Nothing is what it seems," where you have mario climbing the pipe, that's an interesting idea but I think you need a way to show that the pipe is, indeed, climbable. The "If There are no coins" background is horrible, and as blackhole89 said, it should be changed. It simply does not work at all, no matter what game/level/tileset it appears in. I like the coin-trusting and the one-way blocks, however, I would recommend changing them so that the arrows only point in one direction. And for the invisible blocks, yes, please add animation to them. Even if it's just a once-every-16-frames animation, please add it. I'd be willing to beta-test this. |

What has been said about the FG and BG I agree with, so I won't repeat it here.
As a suggestion, I would perhaps pick a cave tileset that has a little bit more depth than the SMW background, and make the BG palette a little more concentrated and darker. By that I mean, don't have dark colours and light colours, but instead dark colours, darker colours, and medium colours. I.E, keep the colours similar without making them the same. I think I might have said it somewhere, maybe just did but didn't post, but I would recommend that you add smaller enemies such as 'crawlies' or similar style of enemies, since even in abandoned buildings you can usually find wildlife that has crept in and made a home. |

oddly enough, one of my mIRC windows, when I open it, won't show the main window. In order to use IRC, I'm having to use my bot's mIRC window instead w/ the bot functions disabled.
Does anyone know why a mIRC window will not show up? The 'about mIRC' window shows up, but after that nothign appears, though it does log in. |

I had to recharge my DS battery while I was out camping last week.
Just so you know, 4 AAA batteries in series charge a DS beautifully |

If the batteries are good it charges in about 2 hours (yes, faster that the adaptor XD)
however, if they're low they can turn on teh charge LED without even charging the battery. |

I'm doing well. been maybe 2 years, but eh. I still haven't reached the chasm yet, though.
Although seriously, go have a look under dev and look at the movies of the 3D system that DF is updating into. HOLY SHIT! It just looks freaking awesome. My Fortress, so far |

Hm, perhaps magical artifacts of some kind, to go along with the black magic theme?
Also, I like the way you've used those graphics, it looks quite good. However, I'd pay a little me attention to the pipes. The way the corners go, unfortunately, doesn't work. Black does not belong on the top or left. I woudl suggest some custom pipe GFX for the corners, if you can. Of course, you could always use generic 'turn in teh pipe' graphics |

well, mostly when your'e looking for data you need to find how it's stored. if you're looking for something like level tilemaps, it's not as bad. try corrupting sections of RAM, possibly by using a lot of PAR codes or by using ZSNES savestates, altering the RAM in them, and repeating until you find bytes then when changed affect what you're trying to find out, such as corrupting collision data in the game.
then, once you've found the RAM location, you might use a SNES9X debugger breakpoint to look for writes to the start of that RAM section, and then finally 'step out', then place an execution breakpoint on the bytes just before the command you're currently at. reset, and you'll have found the routine that handles data you're interested in. of course, you'd need to expand on that greatly and find other ways of locating data, but this is one example. |

I use it
Of course, Norton caused my computer to BSOD the first time I tried to boot it after setting up Bootskin, and I haven't rebooted since resetting the bootscreen to my custom one again. Eh, it's a Tie-in bootscreen for a Hacker Evolution Mod I'm making. Also, Win95/8/8SE Boot screens are a higher resolution than WinXP screens, WTF?! |

Ah, there was, somewhere, a .zip that included code for this, in the form of an ips and readme, plus example blocks.. unfortunately, I don't know a link to it, just the name (custom1.zip) :/ |
