I have a feeling the game will have both Yoshi's Story and Island things, there's the whole YI stage, which would seem odd with a Story song... |

The game's played out through the Nintendo DS system's "book mode," meaning you hold the system vertically to have the touch screen on the right (if you're right handed) and the non-touch screen on the left. This is the default orientation, but it can be changed if you'd prefer to hold the system in the traditional fashion. It's your choice. Also, apparently you can unlock a skin that makes the game like Lip's level from Panel de Pon(aka Yoshi's level in Tetris Attack) |

Sorry to derail the Yoshi conversation, but this is a very interesting find to tide you over till the next update!
I've noticed something with those character icons... You know, the egg, the triforce, the mushroom, etc? They have only the ones currently used uploaded, so you can't just change the number to get ahead of them... but they didn't upload them in order of the site updates! 01 is the Smash symbol, for items, stages and such that aren't affiliated with characters. 09 is the Triforce, symbol for Link and any other Zelda series things. 10 is the Super Mushroom, symbol for Mario and other main Mario series things. 18 is the Sacred Bow of Palutena, symbol for Pit, and likely anything else from the Kid Icarus series. 11 is the Yoshi egg seen in the latest update, for Yoshi and his stories, islands, and such. This is in order of updates, not repeating any of course. They used Pit's icon before Yoshi's! That means there are at least 17 character icons, plus the Smash icon for Sandbag type characters, making the currently known number 18! Remove the Smash, Zelda, Mario, Kid Icarus, and Yoshi series, and we have thirteen game series basically confirmed! We can go further, take away the symbols for the Metal Gear series, the Wario Ware series, the Star Fox series, the Metroid series, and the Pokemon series, and we have a set of at least eight game serieseseses that have not been revealed in Brawl. Also, what does Yuka Tsujiyoko have to do with Yoshi's voice, and why are you bashing one of the best musicians ever? |

Let's not forget Groudon below it. They appear to be using the GCN models, like how SSBM used N64 models. Note that things like Pokemon and items get treated like this because they can appear in large amounts depending on the action, while characters usually come at most four on screen, or six during certain event matches. (The Ice Climbers likely had the polycount shared between them, they didn't require separated fingers and such as they wore big winter gloves) Even at that, the Pokeball is a pretty nice model if you notice the button and hole thing, which could have been simpler and still likely not griped at. Then again, they also are HUGE! That, or they grow when thrown?
While I would wish they'd of been able to give them SSBB style realistic texturing, it's possible that giving such textures to such large things as Groudon and other legendaries would cause slowdown, as they basically can appear as much as any old small Super Scope. However, the character models were tweaked between the first showing of the game and this site, so it could be possible, but it'd be odd seeing Groudon with scales or such. |

Posted by Katelyn Again, unless you go to some Sonic yaoi site, I don't think you'll find more then five people in the world who rate the game more then a 2 out of 10. That's like saying Superman 64 is overrated, just because you and everyone hate it doesn't mean it should be on an overrated list just so you have more excuse to bitch and whine about it. Yeah, I guess I do this too much but I just hate how people seem to try and find any excuse to bring it up. |

I'm not sure when this has started, but now every time an open file dialouge appears, it sorts it in reverse ABC order! I almost never sort that way, and it's very annoying to have all the folders now at the very end of the list, with files starting with Zs and Xes in the beginning. At one point, on another computer I believe, the computer seemed to automatically sort by modified, which I often used to find the newest files. I also remember hearing Windows automatically removing the "Shortcut to" from desktop shortcuts if you do it often, as a way of picking up on habits... but I never wanted the open file dialouge to change! |

They're asking for my phone number, and while my parents would appreciate me receiving free stuff in the mail, I doubt they'd appreciate me getting them random phone calls from advertisers or from Dietzel and Dietzel trying to get me for having them send junk mail to 5 PoopieMcPoop Rd.... Or can you fake the phone number? I could really use a Classic Controller, or if I could be daring, do as much as I can and try for a handheld. |

Posted by Mattrizzle87 I personally think it'd sound best if done in a Coin Heaven style, or maybe even in just the kind of style of the warp zone's flute for the main instruments with Coin Heaven as a tempo base. |

Don't want to get in the middle of an argument to the death, but Extra Mario Bros looks awesome.... I'm biased though, as it uses SML2 Mario.
Because of these kinds of things I always try and avoid praising famed people like DD or BMF, as many already do. I did have to go out of my way with the ground pound simply because I love the ability to repeatedly ground pound bricks from NSMB, and the ability to do it on ? boxes. One of my favorite additions to the game, and it's cool to see it in an old game, even if it is or isn't still mostly SMB3. Sorry that I added to this frustration. (personally, the "transparent" water and clouds didn't look as impressive as some made it out to be, but I'm not a coder. It may of required lots of work to make multiple versions of the same tiles, some with the ability to put Mario behind the tiles) |

That information doesn't help at all, I know how to arrange things already like that, and if you go to arrange icons by and select something, then do it again, it reverses. My problem is that normally the file open type menu is automatically set to arrange by type in normal order, but for some random reason it switched to automatically set it to arrange in reverse ABC order. If I open a new folder in the menu, it switches back. This causes lots of pain in searching... |

The original song is mainly associated with the Ridley battles, though I believe it's also been used for escape sequences too. What kind of Metroid stage would fit this rather then the usual song used? |

I copied the image from the World 5 screenshots section. I'm guessing this is what he meant, though I highly doubt Mario will be grabbing those anytime soon. |

I thought that porting SPCs to Demo World 3 formated SMW was hard, or at least involved lots of pointer changing and finding in the original game, rather then just slapping some SPC from a compatable game into it and changing a hex value... |

Posted by AipomPosted by RichPosted by Ryusui I know for sure that at least Super Mario Land 2 featured the entire credits from Metroid II inside it, but a quick search produces nothing in Wario Land. SML2 and M2 look like they could share origins.... though WL could too... but this is about DKC, which is by Rareware, not Nintendo R&D1/Intelligent Systems/etc... |

In SML, Tatanga put the denzins of Sarasaland under some kind of spell or hypnosis I believe, and in SML2, Wario apparently had some kind of spell on Mario Land, which included many normal enemies normally seen on Bowser's side, and in Super Paper Mario, Nastasia used her own hypnosis to turn enemies to Bleck's side... but in Paper Mario, there's towns featuring many enemies that don't go under Bowser's reign, so it could be thought that not all of them are sided with Bowser, but even if they are they can just be given a little hypnosis. |

I believe that the Volt Tackle will work close to how the Volteccer(Short for Volt Tackle in Japanese I think) from Pulseman works, as the Volt Tackle was named/based off of that in the games, and Pikachu is in the ball, as seen by the last picture after the attack wears off... I suspect you have control over it unlike in Pulseman, however, though I'm curious if it bounces off walls to extend it or not...

I kind of understand Nintendo being afraid, because despite all the adulterated things before, this game has both realish violent things, and the ability to actually act them out semirealistically, though personally, I feel it would make a good stress reliever. |

But it's Sonic so that means you have to piss and moan about it, that's the rules! |
