To the Pink Floyd fans here: If you haven't listened to Animals yet, I'd strongly urge you to do so. The idea behind the album is kind of oversimplistic, but the actual music is probably the best I've heard ouf of Pink Floyd. It's... immersive, sad yet uplifting. Sane but bordering on madness. There's three main songs and two book end songs. Except, in stark contrast to Wish You Were Here, the bookend songs are short and the meat is in the middle of the album.

I was going to mention these two. Pink Floyd definitely wins for number of whole albums I can listen to front-to-back. Dark Side of the Moon, Animals, Wish You Were Here, and even The Wall once in a while.

Outside of Pink Floyd, the only album I can think of at the moment is MF DOOM's Operation Doomsday!. DOOM is an acquired taste, but man, he pretty much rules the schools.

But some albums are just recent material by an artist, and filler tracks they put in to get in the way of the one track you should have just purchased as a single. And is it just me, or are more albums recently like this, sometimes so bad you wind up skipping to the point of missing half the album...?

This is probably true of the majority of albums in the history of the music industry, not just a recently. I don't keep up with enough mainstream releases to be sure it's not trending upwards, but it's more probable that the 70s-80s was an unusually high period for concept albums, possibly because it worked better with the popular genres of the time.

I like that it removes "NEW" from threads you've looked at, but even if there are no "NEW" threads in a forum, you have to mark it read before the icon next to the forum goes away.

yeah, the thing is The Mouse and the Mask isn't really Doom's best stuff (except for Crosshairs, which is one of my favorite songs). I recommend checking out Operation Doomsday and giving it a few listens over a long period of time. I actually was introduced to Doom in the same way. I had a few songs from Mouse that didn't really impress me, but my brother gave me Doomsday, which I disliked as well at first, but it grew on me. A lot. Doom is definitely an acquired taste, but since our tastes overlap a lot I think it's pretty likely he'll grow on you too.

Anyway! I like Danger Mouse and I like the beats he mixed for the Grey Album, but I really can't get into Jay-Z. So I listen to the Grey Album only for the beats, which means the more emphasis a song has on vocals, the more I tend to dislike it. So I don't enjoy most of the album much, overall. Encore is good though. I like Encore.

Speaking of Danger Mouse, Gnarls Barkley's St. Elsewhere definitely stands up to a full listen now and then. If you haven't heard anything off it other than Crazy, it might not be quite what you're expecting, but I recommend checking it out.

For those of you who don't know, Digipen Institute of Technology usually releases freeware versions of the games their students develop.

speaking of digipen games, I'm sure most people here are aware of the game called "portal" that will be released with half-life episode 2, whenever that comes out. now, the idea for portal came from a digipen project called Narbacular Drop, and the students who made it were hired by Valve to make Portal. So, if you're waiting for Portal, get Narbacular Drop and you can play kind of a prototype of it.

Also! two games by one dude: Within a Deep Forest, a very difficult, very unique puzzle platformer, and Knytt, which is much less about the difficult platforming and pretty much just about exploration. They're both worth your time! But if you get frustrated by Within a Deep Forest, don't dismiss Knytt, because it's not at all the same thing.

gyah, most of the remix project songs are awful, and the few songs that are kind of decent just make me want to listen to the originals.

Tomorrow as "tommorrow." I can never get it right the first time.

I remember this one as "to morrow." same way to get cigarette right: "cigar ette."

I always type "every" instead of ever. I did it just now.

I don't like having things come up from the bottom of the screen and kill me. I'm used to hanging out down there.

Yo mama's so fat - how fat is she?
Yo mama is so big and fat that she can get busy
With twenty-two burritos when times get rough.
I seen her in the back of Taco Bell with handcuffs.
It's a sad fact. Yo mama smokes crack.
She's got a burning yearning and there's no turning back.
Her knuckles drag down to the ground when she walks.
Spit comes out that bitch mouth when she talks.

-don't prefix "Re: " when replying to a message that already starts with "Re: "
this is how most everything else behaves.
