The religious aspect? That's funny, because it's a Christian adaptation of a Pagan holiday. I would cite proof, but I'm too lazy and can't be assed to search Wikipedia. |

Since I bought and downloaded the update to 1.2.6, I decided I would start a second world and play it on Normal.
My spawn point wound up being on a very narrow beach that didn't offer much of anything beyond the few trees nearby. After gathering 13 logs, I made my workbench and crafted about 8 wooden picks to start mining out some coal, which I found in a nearby wall. A decent vein of about ten pieces of coal. When I noticed the sun starting to set, I started to hollow out a small cave from my vein and closed it off partially with a single block near the upper left (looking out). I made it through the first night with four hearts left... Zombie archers took advantage of my "cave" opening and fired in on me, landing a few lucky hits. I wound up dying early the second morning, because one of the zombies I started to beat away with one of my remaining picks hid around the corner in a small alcove in the rock wall. I tried fighting the fucker off with my wooden sword I made during the night, but seeing my low HP made me panic and I didn't fight very intelligently. Everything that moves that isn't me on this game scares the shit out of me, be it a monster or a cow... I guess I'm easily scared. feelsbad.jpg |

What's up with Simon's palette? He's purple.
Besides that, it looks pretty cool. As for the story, the fist couple Castlevanias really didn't have one other than "Find Dracula, kill him, live happily." |

Posted by dracmeister That is true. The whole point of Castlevania II was to kill Dracula for good to release the curse. The time taken, and the ending caused from it, determined if he lived or not. I never really got the good end on my own because I always found myself grinding. |

Merry Christmas! The weekend started at the absolute motherfucking lowest point I have ever experienced for any weekend, let alone a goddamn holiday! I got fired at work! I wasn't expecting my boss to say, "Merry Christmas, [name omitted], your employment here is hereby terminated, empty your locker and return your vest."
I, then, went to my brother's house for celebrating with my immediate family where everyone kinda tried to cheer me up a bit. We had dinner and watched a few movies and did our gift exchange. I wound up getting a basket of dry food and a bottle of wine my sister made. I woke up Saturday morning to head down to visit my girlfriend and her multitude of family gatherings. I went with the thought of being the unknown person that tagged along, but they treated me like I belonged among them. In total from my girlfriend and several of her family members, I got: A $25 Gamestop gift card, a $10 McDonald's gift card, a $10 Subway gift card, $5 cash, a $10 check, fuzzy socks, a pair of slippers, a necklace to match hers, a box of chocolate covered pretzels, and her copy of Persona 4. I feel like I made out like a bandit because I only gave her a measly $40 Gamestop gift card because I had no idea what she had/wanted. Mixed feelings, man. :/ After spending the night at her dad's place, we went to hang out with her uncle and cousin for a while before heading to my family's get together. After dinner and some catching up, we did our gift exchange there, everyone seemed to get what they wanted. My aunt got my name in the exchange and got me a t-shirt with several characters from the classic Mario series on it and the Sonic Collection for DS, pretty cool. My dad and stepmom also gave me the traditional Christmas ornament and a $25 Gamestop gift card, even better. We then moved onto our traditional games like the left/right passing of random gifts to the reading of the Story of Santa, I got stuck between my grandpa and my aunt, who wound up fighting over a bottle of wine (also made by my sister), that after everything was settled, I wound up with. The we moved onto our other game that has everyone pick a number, then grab a gift from the pile, or snag one that someone that already had something. My sister got a coffee pot that she wanted, and I wound up with a couple movies (Evan Almighty and John Wayne's The Cowboys, also pretty awesome). tl;dr My holiday weekend started out shittier than shitty, but ultimately ended up pretty fucking awesome! For those keeping score, or for those who chose not to read, I netted: Fired from my job A bunch of food 2 bottles of wine $50 Gamestop credit $10 McDonald's credit $10 Subway credit $15 cash/check Chocolate covered pretzels Fuzzy socks Slippers A necklace Persona 4 A Mario Bros t-shirt Sonic Collection DS 2 movies Ultimately. Feels good, man. |

I worked at Lowe's, and they did give me the reason for termination, but I don't want to get into that. |

So I was playing Dark Dawn, going along and kicking ass.
I went back to reference the book to make sure I had everything... I missed one ever-so-important thing, and I can't get it because of lol-point-of-no-return. >:/ Now the best I can finish with is 71 Djinni (18 Venus, 18 Mars, 18 Mercury, 17 Jupiter), and it pisses me off so much because I have all the cool shit like Excalibur (crafted on the first shot, too) and two instances of the Zol Ring/Hover Greave combo (2.7x total Agility modifier). Should I suck it up and finish, or ragequit and restart? |

Jupiter Djinni, Wisp, in Sana Town's well.
I saw it and thought I'd go back for it later, but I forgot all about it. You can't go back to Morgal after you escape on Briggs' ship. There's a beach right by Port Rago, too, but a fucking iceberg blocks the ship's return. I guess I'll finish this run with Sveta not having all 9 of her Djinn, since Karis is my main Jupiter adept anyway. I figure it would be stupid to let those RNG manipulated crafts go to waste. Heads up for you: your Quality Zol should go toward at LEAST a second Zol Ring (Agility x1.8) and two Hover Greaves (Agility x1.5), it does wonders for your slow characters. Examples from my file (Since they're what I currently have set up): Matthew: 8 Venus Djinni set Normal: 256 Greaves: 384 Ring: 460 Both: 691 Tyrell: 8 Mars Djinni set Normal: 190 Greaves: 285 Ring: 342 Both: 513 |

I was thinking for a bit about possible points of no return in the first two games, then I realized there were always ways to work around them.
The one that immediately came to mind was the Karagol Sea and the northern road being blocked, I remembered the Gondowan Cave to the southeast of Tolbi. I think Camelot was being lazy when they were putting this together, because there are nearly plausible return ways, but the dumbest shit blocks the path. The icebergs by Port Rago are a fine example. |

Like I said in the Christmas thread, I got Persona 4 and the Sonic Classic Collection. I also went out to Gamestop today and redeemed the gift cards I got to pay off Pokemon Black and White, as well as picked up Viewtiful Joe 1 and 2.
I've been playing Minecraft and Golden Sun on and off. I've been fucking around in Minecraft the past few days, exploring and whatnot. I'm working on a rather large project right now, a huge 20x20x6 (18x18x5 inside) library that will be full of bookshelves... So far, I've cleaned myself out of logs and reeds, and haven't even finished two rows of bookshelves. It's gonna be awesome when it's done, though. I've already expressed my distaste for Golden Sun in the Town Square thread. Points of no return are never good to implement in RPGs, under no circumstances does it make sense to do that. The first two games never actually fully cut the player off from an area, the worst they did was say, "You can come back here later, when you have better things at your disposal." I haven't started Persona yet, I kinda wanna hold off for a bit. I've heard great things about this game, and what I've seen is pretty impressive. I don't care much for Sonic, never really have, but I figure since I have 1 through 3 and Sonic and Knuckles on one game card, I may as well give them a shot. As for Viewtiful Joe, I started the first one on Hard. I made it to the second stage, but not before a game over. :/ I first played it for Gamecube (Togg had it), so I had to adjust to the PS2 controls. |

Posted by Ailure In Golden Sun, missing a djinni is a big thing since it affects your stats and abilities, and they're scattered everywhere. I missed one that I know I saw on the dungeon map, but forgot to get it because it slipped my mind, and now I can't get it. |

Doesn't Mac OS have access to Wine?
If so, why not run a Windows-based editor through it? |

No. I used the other method.
1. Save before giving the material. 2. Hard reset the game (reboot the system) 3. Watch the intensity of "Press Start/Touch Screen" 4. Advance at different times. 5. Get different generations based on your timing. Example: Give an Orihalcon when it was at its brightest, and you're nearly guaranteed Excalibur. |

As per my usual, I've been dicking around in Minecraft. I managed to get all of the required inputs mapped to my controller using a keyboard/mouse emulator. I have to tweak it a little more to get the sensitivity where I need it, but I can play relatively well with my Logitech controller.
I've also been devoting a LOT of time to Persona 4, clocking somewhere around 155 hours between my first run, second run and what I've clocked thus far on my third run. The cumulative timer for New Game+ is kinda nice in that respect, because it shows how much of my pathetic life I'm wasting. |

Megaman Anniversary Collection.
Trying to get everything in the secrets section unlocked. According to an "official" site, I have everything, despite not having beaten 1 and 3, which are giving so much trouble since I'm not familiar with them. |

Just a little something I whipped up out of boredom between watching episodes of Animaniacs over the past few days.
Accurate to the ingame sprite, 13x16. I tested jumping off the top. 16 tiles deals six hearts of fall damage. In other discovery news: Drowning damage affects your armor, too. I went swimming for squids to get ink sacs, and forgot to remove my diamond armor. I didn't notice the armor damage until half the durability was gone. Needless to say, I was pretty pissed since making that armor cost me nearly all of my diamond reserves (31 gems). |
