I know, I'm bumping, I think it to be better to resurface an existing thread than create a new one.

Alright... So this is officially out for DSiWare for 1000 points. Is it actually worth spending the $10 on, or am I going to just shelf it like I did to the other stupidly hyped retro-styled games?

The reason I'm asking if it's worth the money is because I haven't played either preexisting version, and I want to make sure I'm not getting jipped.

I broke down and bought it soon after bumping the thread, and I'm pleasantly surprised so far. I kinda like it. I actually played it at work today.

I just wish that taking damage didn't decimate your own damage output.

I'm working on the dogs in the Sand Zone... I have no idea where to take them.

I figured that out... After looking at the map and seeing a section I hadn't ventured into.

King's blade is BROKEN, albeit a pain in the ass to power up and keep strong.

What are you five favorite Pokémon?

Is Generation Five allowed?

If so:
Stoutland, Scrafty, Darmanitan, Sawk, and Scolipede

If not:
Ninjask, Electivire, Togekiss, Tyranitar, and Dragonite

EDIT: Updated gen5 Pokemon to their English names

I also admit to announcing significance in numbers that pop up in customers' totals.

Examples:
Least common factor of the dollar and change amounts (if >1)
"Special" numbers (i.e. 11.11 wish, lucky 7.77)
Palindromes
Prime numbers

I've gotten some strange looks before. It only makes me laugh. I'm yet to get a mathematically minded customer that is willing to play along during a time that I can take time and bullshit a bit without getting scolded by my supervisor for holding up the line.

That's interesting how you well you imitated the snow graphic from Yoshi's Island.

I like it.

Now, don't do anything drastic, bh! Step away from the shiny red button, slowly now...
Next thing we know, it turned into a imageboard.
Oh shit. If that happens, we may as well rename ourselves to ACMLMChan or the like.

DSi post for the "wat now?"

Alright... I'm severely confused... Why does the board theme randomly turn into the White Hole and back to Minus World (My theme preset)?

Is it something to go with winter, or am I going bat shit insane?

About a half hour before posting this, I finished the Blood Stained Sanctuary on Cave Story DS.

Nearly three days of rage at my inability to predict patterns throughout the dungeon have finally paid off. Feels good.

Now it's time to actually focus on Dark Dawn.

Is there anyone that played the PC/Wii version that notices anything notably different about the DS version?
I started playing the DS version, then went and downloaded the PC version.

Having went through and got the good end in both, the only thing I noticed was different, besides resolution, was minor dialog changes.

Based on what I've heard about the Wii version, changes from that are that there's no Curly Mode or Boss Rush.

It's pretty good, although there are a lot of inconsistencies to it, imo.

Not to name names, but I think some of the aggressive moderating of new members is scaring away some would-be contributors too.
"Aggressive moderating"? Are you serious? Name a single instance of this so-called "aggressive moderating".

Here's one. - It's his first post. Nobody's going to hang around for condescending shit like that. I could have sworn there was another instance or two like this, but I can't for the life of me find it.
It's nothing personal against anyone here, but the only way we'll get new members who actually stay is to treat them nicely until they find their feet here.
About that, he took the warning rather well, he actually thanked me for pointing it out to him.

Proof is in the PM he sent me:

Sent by Kyon.
For the heads up ^^
2 minutes in and getting scolded really took me by surprise, and I'll make sure to reread over the faqs a bit.
Thanks again~

EDIT: Screenshot proof if you don't believe the quote

It felt like everyone couldn't be easily figured out.

It's like people are some sort of being that isn't exactly as it looks on the surface after a single encounter! Gasp!

I beg to differ in regards to myself. I'm an asshole and I don't try to hide it.

In actual gameplay news.

I started over yesterday and got an amazing new world. It started me in a valley between a few mountains that has a nearby cave system.

I built a nice 11x11x4 wooden cube I call a house with my spawn point at the dead center. I "decorated" it with six labeled large treasure chests that keep all of my stuff organized... unnecessarily so. As well as my primary workbench and furnace.

I found the cave system by complete accident. I was collecting sand to level out the sandy half of my yard, and noticed a part where the identifiably large body of water by my house started to turn into a waterfall. I decided to go in almost completely unprepared in terms of equipment and resources to make more, while I was down there I found an excessive amount of coal (I dug up about 130-ish, but it only let me take 128 of it in my inventory, despite having space for another stack), iron (about 30 pieces of ore, and there's plenty more), some gold (6 chunks of ore), and a single block of Redstone. I also found a monster spawner that had a few chests by it that I got a bunch of stuff out of (Redstone dust, a bucket, some bread, a saddle, string, etc).

I also started to hollow out the mountain that's directly in front of my house that is approximately 13x20x3, and for shits and giggles, I filled it almost entirely with torches (232 of them to be exact) since I read that in an upcoming update, torches are given a finite time to stay lit, and pre-placed torches get turned into lanterns that take the functional place of torches as they are now.

Call me a wuss, but I'm playing on Peaceful until I start getting more comfortable with my environment.

Needless to say, I had a great time in the past five hours.

I'll post screenshots later, since I'm posting this at nearly quarter to 3am and I'm exhausted.
