Okay sorry about that.

What SNES game's music brings you fond memories?

And Do you have any games that have literally changed the way you think, or affected your life? And which one, and why?

He/She posts up his patch, then you're downing his/hers.

Honestly, That's kinda rude.

Nice work. And I'm sure there's stuff in there that they didn't put into the game. It happens all the time. They plan on putting something into it, then don't.

Is anyone else getting annoyed with the spam posts (Mostly in Russian) that have been happening lately?

It's like they make an account, and first (And usually last) post they do, is a link, or links to something else.

It's obnoxious to me at least.

And why is it a smart idea for them to post on a board where I'm sure loads of the members can hack and/or trace it back to the source?

I'm sure at least a few here are good enough to do that.

And this, is my rant for the day.

Anyone else agree with me?

I think anyone who's used the internet at all is familiar with the concept of a spambot.

I'm used to it, but, it's obnoxious still. And it's getting worse.

But, my point was that they're going to a hacking (Albeit rom hacking, I'm sure there are full fledged hackers here) site, and posting spam. It's like, that's not smart to do at all.

What ever happened to the comic thing you were doing (People suggested things, and your characters did or did not do them depending on what they were)?

Atheist. You may proceed to flame me now.

Nah, I'm Atheist friendly. I won't flame you. I can't say the same for others.

Also I tried joining the ABXD board, but, I can't figure out what the registration means by "The Word" I looked all through the FAQ, tried using the Capcha there too, tried using ABXD for the word, and even a few others. I always get an error. What am I doing wrong, and what is the word? Or where is it located in the FAQ? I've read it word for word over and over and still can't find it.

Edit: Never mind. I found it. After re-reading several times, passing it up.

Honestly, to me, that doesn't sound accurate.

I would say crack would be more dangerous because it creates a want in people, who will make them do literally ANYTHING to get it.

Crack and Alcohol should be switched IMHO. That or Heroin's rate should be more accurate. But that's my opinion.

Status update:

I have enemies placable on the rounds now. MasterHiggins work was not the whole story. As it turns out what he found was where you place a pre-defined enemy down. These definitions are put together elsewhere in the ROM. Basically you make a preset list of enemy type/item/Y coord, then you place these down on the levels. It is possible to place an enemy down on a round it dont belong on. It will have jumbled sprites, but this is very fixable if you are determined to do it. There is one enemy in the game which isnt actually used by the game anywhere. This mystery enemy just paces back and forth and is generally very easy to kill. I'm not sure what sprites it was meant to use. Perhaps it was the lemon of round 6?

I also have found out how to set the properties for each level block. For example, you can make a block act as a platform, water, spikes, etc. This will allow us to place these kinds of blocks on levels they dont usually belong on.

I've also been able to change how some of the enemies behave. I'm still looking into this.

I should be ready to put out a new public version soonish. Definitely this editor can be used to make a game completely unrecognizable from Monster Party out of Monster Party.

You're maing awesome progress. I'm sorry I fell through on the title graphics thing.

I think at least you can change a few of them, just not all of them with the info I gave.

Oh, about the title screen. When i figured out how to change the sprites that includes the ones which walk across the title screen, so you can pretty much do whatever you want with them that way.

Additionally i found out how to adjust the delay between monsters walking across the title screen and thats already included in the editor.

If anyone wants to see how it is now, here is a link to the latest unofficial build:

Monster Rapist 1.92

Nice! yay!

On the image that you just posted, I honestly think that looks nicer having everything to the side like that. Others may disagree, but, that's my input.

Which is why less experienced programmers tend to be so cocksure. But it goes for any skill generally.

You know, I actually tend to see the opposite on this. Experienced programmers being "cocksure" and not willing to help the people not as good, and/or belittling them, or not explaining what they mean and just give all the programming info.

It's like if you knew a language, and someone doesn't who is just learning it, and they asked what a word meant, and you explained the whole meaning of the word, roots and all in the said language instead of their native language.

It gets frustrating.

*Rant over with*

I'm looking for a good Hex editor for a friend, who wants to do hex editing, but, doesn't like using his PC.

What is the best Mac Hex editor, Preferably one that is free, and acts a lot like Windhex?

Check MacUpdate.com, you will probably find what you are looking for...
I use HexEdit, which is probably not as good as many other Hex Editors out there in terms of spiffy functions, but it's enough for me...

I just looked through there (Thank you for the link BTW), and I found something called Hex-Fiend

It is a 16 [0f in hex] based Hex editor (By default), instead of it showing 22 [16 in hex] like it showed in the pic.

Thanks again!

I hate to say, but, I kind of agree with every one else. The title screen does look faked (Or the item box would be invisible), and the second screen you could easy mach up, or do a quick level edit. I think honestly, to prove that you're serious, you should either post up better pictures of some nice level editing, or post up a video. The later would be better proof.

Normally I don't post this type of thing, but, this does seem very dubious.
