Colleen is just Colin's female alter ego.. The name thing isn't a weird "word substitution", but just that several people were using alternate temporary names when the board went down\last backup was saved.

As I recall, Colin actually had a completely alternate account for Colleen at one point too, which might account for that. *shrugs* I haven't looked over that archive much for the very reason that it "is" sort of broken, so it is hard to say what all might be wrong with it really.

Actually, I read that wrong.. I thought that said "every other post of Colin's" not "every post of Colin's" -- heh, well I'm pretty sure having changed his name to Colleen that it would make every older reference of Colin into Colleen too so.. again, that doesn't seem odd.

(And yes, would have corrected myself sooner, but no way to double post nor edit.. )

I understand what you're saying now, but I didn't catch that bit while I was posting my own correction. Besides, does it really matter that much?

The database is probably fudged, yes. You'd have to ask Xkeeper or Acmlm personally to get a real answer on it, but I don't actually see why words in posts would be altered like that anyway unless something were seriously wrong..

In any case, it isn't that confusing or distracting to me. The alt names are pretty familiar if you've been around long enough to not throw you off any, and if you haven't been around that long.. well, chances are the archives won't be worth anything to you beyond a mild entertainment on a bored day anyway.

I've had this monitor for.. Gosh, quite awhile now.
Don't think I've ever had any go out on me either, though I really should consider getting a new one anyway.. preferably something with a larger screen and one which can support higher resolution than this one.

It's a filter active on the old board.

It was that way when the board blew up, just you know. It's always been that way in archive2. :/

Hmm.. I think I remember that now.. But it has been a long time, so eh..

Nice to see we have the backups here as well now. Dunno how it was done but still... good news.

I'm fairly curious just how it was done, actually. What ends needed to be met in order to get these?

No, the hard part would be getting the voicing to sound cute\awesome instead of annoying\craptastic.. Though, really, you wouldn't need a 15 year old, just any feminine voice in the correct tone would do. (And we have several female members here whom I'm sure would be willing..)

Probably best if she just stayed silent all and all though.

PSU's first expansion was (silently) announced right when the game launched.. but no details were revealed about it until a few days ago, when a Famitsu article unveiled some very interesting screenshots and information regarding the game..

Scans of the article can be found here: http://www.tgfcer.com/club/thread-5846575-1-1.html

Some highlights seem to be.. PSO style clothing, PSO weaponry, New weapon types including Whips and Slicers, and a return of the Mag's - though as one of the new weapon types this time apparently? And as it would seem, possibly even a return to the planet Ragol itself.. (It isn't clear, but the images speak for themselves somewhat.. that definitely looks like Forest 1 from PSO.)

Not sure how many people here actually play Phantasy Star Universe, but I personally find all of this information to be rather exciting.. since as nice of a game as PSU is, it is severely lacking a lot of the charm PSO had...

I imagine the ID slot on the HUmar outfit will change color depending on the element of the lineshield you're wearing.. At least, that's what makes the most sense to me at this point.

And yea, the Mag's are apparently returning as left handed Force weaponry.. Quite interested in that, since it means you'll be able to use an actual melee weapon in your main hand.. (Sabers, Claws, and even a Slicer from the looks of things..) The whip weapon type caught me by surprise too, I think people have wanted one of those since the original PSO launched..

By the way, looking nice Kawa.

Heh heh.. I doubt I'll ever be able to make up for lost time post-wise, as I sit on the sidelines longer than that myself. Hell, I only have 80-ish posts right now as it is.. Guess even out of lurker mode I'm not one to splurge.

Wow, that sounds.. fast.
Weird thing too, since I was just thinking about redownloading it this morning so I could whip out an oldie or two and enjoy the nostalgic goodness.

It's a short, simple to spell, fast to write, and catchy name.. It's genius really.
Sure my initial response to it when I first heard about its name left me.. confused we'll say. But overall, once you get past that initial impression, you find that it's a great name.

Hmm, not many PSU players here I see..
Well worth noting, the official site for the expansion is now up too, which can be found here: http://illuminus.phantasystaruniverse.jp/

Doesn't seem to be much on it that isn't already known, but it's more than likely a good idea to keep an eye on it in case of updates.

The Sims 2 is actually pretty neat, especially when modded up to suit your own personal tastes.. All the expansion packs for it are a bit daunting though.. I haven't bothered reinstalling it in a long while for that very reason. (Ended up several expansions behind, and I just haven't had an interest to catch up or dig around for old mods that would still work with what I do have.)

If I had a reasonably decent laptop and a stable wireless network, I'd probably more often than not be outdoors when on the 'net.. I'm indoors too much anymore, so the option of enjoying the great out doors is much more preferable to staying cooped up in here all the time.
