Hello. This is 'bout the 4th or maybe 5th time I've registered for a Acmlm board in It's many guises. Acmlm has had more boards than a whore has clients! Least it seems that way sometimes. My first messageboard experience was with Acmlm board all those many years ago now, I doubt anybody remembers that far back......

Good times.

Anyways, do any of you peeps have a custom layout tutorial? I've never been able to figure how how it works.

Super Princess Peach - DS

Much better game than I thought. Would be fun too mess around with.

Lufia 2 - SNES

One of my Fav Snes RPGS has turn based battle system mixed with Zelda style tools and puzzles. So deserves a editor.

Double Dragon - Arcade/genesis

Spent faaaar too much time playing this game over the years. Could do a decent hack with right tools. It never had a decent sequal. Did get 2 good fan games though, Fists Of Fury and Forever.

Link looks retarded in WW & PH. I don't know why Nintendo don't jus' ask Capcom to carry on the Zelda series as they are far better at it. I loved Minish. PH changed to much of the Zelda formula and feels worse for it. Different graphics, Hud, dugeon map etc. It feels like a game thats had the Zelda licence tacked on to it at the last minuite.

I wonder if the train can hop......

A Bionic Commando rearmed editor would be good.

Personally, I loved Wind Waker and wish there were more that played like that. I do, however, agree that they need to stick to the original formula. I wasn't a huge fan of Phantom Hourglass and think they could keep the style as long as they give you the normal playing mechanics! I don't agree that Nintendo should hand over the franchise. They should stop making games relating to their great old franchises and making them revolve solely around gimmicks like motion control, touch control, and the DS mic.

I loved the idea of sailing and looking for uncharted islands, but Phantom Hourglass managed to bugger that up by not giving you enough to find and the speed of the boat could do with kicking up a notch, it took far too long to get from A to B. Hopefully the train will go faster.

I don't think Nintendo have done a TRUE Zelda game since the N64, although I haven't had chance to play Twilight Princess yet and that looks good. Capcom seem to have no problems, They've given us 2 GBC games (Seasons and Ages) and Minish Cap.

The fraxy section of your forums is described as:

"Because we all know quite well that games are more fun to make than they are to play."

But ya can't make many types of game with fraxy so why not

1) change it to a general game creation forum

and

2) move it to the creativity forums as it would belong more there than any where. How can art & music written creations be classed as "creativity" yet some thing that is created and contains elements of all three be classed as "fun & entertainment"

On the other hand, a game creation forum would solve a lot of "where do I put this" puzzles
.

I would have surely made it easyier for me to decide where to put this:

I'd say do both. Keep the Fraxy forum (perhaps with a nitpicky edit on the description), and if there's an interest in it, add a general game creation forum.

I like the idea of this, but would enough people use it?

I just wish somebody would leak the Marble Madness 2 rom. It was fully finished, but never got released. It looked awesome.

Zelda seems to be a popular choice, I'd def like a Minish Cap editor...

I wouldn't mind an editor for DKC2. That game is awesome! Rare have done a ton of cool games. A banjo editor would be nice too....

DSi seems goddamned worthless due to lack of a GBA slot, which means you can't do certain things in Pokemon.

That is one of the most stupid comments ever. You can't judge DSi based on the fact pokemon isn't 100% compatable.

Ive had my DSi since UK launch and it's a pretty good piece of equipment. Even though the screen is only .25 of an inch bigger it looks as though it's huge compared to the DS lite. There is no way I could go back to my DS Lite now. The sound has improved and the sd card slot is a good idea and the added camera is fun too. You can take pictures of people and distort them which is cool.

The Dsi is a lot more powerful too. The DSi has a main processor with a clock speed of 133mhz compared to DS Lite's 67 mhz. This handles 3D graphics coupled with the 4 times ram, it's a beast. I doubt there will be DSi only games until the user base is bigg enough.

If the DS can do a improved Mario 64 The DSi should be able to do far more. Here's hoping (Microsoft permitting) Rare do a banjo remake/new game

Okay then. I see Stark's Pokémon, and raise you a Guitar Hero. I'm sure there are even more examples out there...

Don't like Guitar Hero and while Pokémon is fun it's still playable and finishable so why would I care about the lack of a GBA slot?

I apprieciate that some people like Guitar Hero a lot but there are a ton of people who couldn't care less.

Your bluffing. I call.

The GBA slot was mainly for GBA games and not for things like pokemon/Guitar Hero. You can't expect Nintendo never to update there products because 0.0001% of past games use a certain part of the machine. GBA is long gone. Mourn the loss of the GBA slot and either move on or keep your DS lite.

Nintendo could easily have kept the GBA slot and alienated no one. I am not interested in the DSi's exclusive features; to me, the DS/DS lite is more functional./

No, the GBA slot had to go due to keeping cost of unit down. Plus it would have been bigger. So no.

pokemon, are someone still playing those? I played blue on game boy and all pokemon games after that are pretty much same thing
It is actually pretty funny just how incorrect this statement is...

They ARE basicly the same thing, but with minor tweeks. But then the same could be said for alot of games. If the games good in the first place then changing to much would ruin it.

How the heck did that post add anything to the discusion?

If you don't wanna buy a DSi that OK, but I really don't uderstand why you'd not buy a DSi because (very) very few are (very) very slightly crippled.

Your call I guess *shrugs*

"The dsi sucks because I can't play games from an older console in it"

The only reason why the dsi sucks is because you can't run homebrews in it afaik.

Yet. You could on the jap version using Acekard 2i but it won't work on UK machines (and i'm guessing) US ones.

What about the fact that, 5 years later, it's just a minuscule update that's still beaten by Another Popular Handheld from the same period?

The ram and processer upgrades are handly "minuscule" add to that the DSi shop camera etc it's a big upgrade.

And just in case anybody's bitchin' about the poor camera, buy a real camera etc please bear in mind it's for stuff like THIS and for fun pictures not for serious photography.

Also it's intresting to note that Sony release shitty pointless upgrades and don't get this amount of grief. Slim to psp3000? Anybody?

I was talking in relation to the psp upgrades but yeah Sony did get alot of bad press for that and I may be wrong, but hasn't that been fixed now with a firmware upgrade?
