This forum brought to you by Acmlm and not the secret group that doesn't rule him.
Two double negatives = "This forum brought to you by Acmlm and the secret group that rules him.

Double negatives cancel each other out remember?
Actually, that's an odd case. It could in fact mean that the group that does control him gave us this forum, or that whatever arbitrary secret groups that don't control him (for instance, the... oh, wait, they're secret) did not.

In other words, if some group is behind this, they are the ones who control him.

I'm not convinced anything is more clear having said that.

I'm pretty sure that if fog is already on, the second part of the power is the only part applied ("Vision range is improved by 1 space as well as seeing into forests and reefs"), and only to that player.

The deactivating part was saying that in a Sonja vs. Sonja match, if it's used by one player and then the opponent before it wears off, it stays in effect until the second player's use would wear off, not the first.

Still pretty cool.

...Chrono Trigger came out 12 years ago. The time to complain about spoilers came and went 10 years ago.

Kles: I'm pretty sure that's from one of the Parodius games. They're full of wtf moments.

Wait... what are people defining as the first board? First Acmlmboard, or the EZboard?

I've been around since the first Acmlmboard. I'd say when, but... uhh... the archive's down and I don't feel like finding my post on the third board that had it in it. (It was back in the day when newbie threads were both allowed and responded to by a lot of the bigger names... as long as they were in the correct forum, of course.)

I'd be something, if I didn't spend 9/10s of the time not posting.

Also, where's The SomerZ?

Well, he was on the third incarnation, at least. No clue on if he followed.

Hmm, the first archive does exist. I've been around since 1/27/03.

Polls were actually kind of stupid, since idiots would post a broken poll when they are trying to start a thread to say something like *lolerz*
But... but... then you'd miss out on examples of sheer brilliance like this. I mean... seriously now.

Search would be much appreciated, yes. Probably as much or more than most other things to me.

NOTE: No, there is no hint to step 4 in this post... or is there?

He uses a double negative in here. I'm pretty sure that by saying "No, there is no hint," that means that there is one.
That's... not a double negative. It's the exact same construction as "No, there's not a hint here... or is there?" just using "no" instead of "not a". And "there is" rather than a contraction.

Cut the red wire. It's always the red wire in the movies.
From Peter's Evil Overlord List:
136. If I build a bomb, I will simply remember which wire to cut if it has to be deactivated and make every wire red.

Seems like the kind of advice Xk would listen to.

The one available here is the one he's talking about. Although they're all... "gems" there.

(That Dr. Mario hack there inspired me to try to make my own Dr. Mario one, but... I lost interest. I should really finish that graphics set, at least. I liked how I was making it.)

I find it shocking that not only did Setz post on A51, but he got banned there as well.

(*cough* I originated there, largely. With an even worse name. Looks like the archives don't cover it very well...)

So you'll have to settle for this.

Does that mean that you can take Hylian messages from the games and translate them and decypher them to English too?
As long as you make sure to go through the Japanese step first. There's actually an FAQ on GameFAQs doing that for Wind Waker, and it's probably possible for Twilight Princess (supposedly people have translated a few signs). It's unlikely that it'd work for Ocarina/Majora's Mask, though. Too blurry.

Yes, it's real. He doesn't do a whole lot, though. Just kinda sits there, growls, and when you shoot its mouth with a missile, stops taking damage or affecting the environment in any way.

Unfortunately, the only video I see of it on Youtube is this one, and it's not the best...

Forte depends on the context. I'm pretty sure it's "fort" when it's something someone likes, but "fort-ay" when it's a strength/loudness.

Not just have a beer. Get drunk and have sex by the stage. Can you guess who dies first?

I didn't care too much for the Night of the Living Dead remake. It was too much happier, too much less creepy, and it actually lost some of its "scary" factor from the change to color. (Seriously, the scene with the zombies eating shifted from looking genuinely bloody/gory, to having what looked like zombies eating fried chicken or something.)

And that they don't use music from the original game for the most part, but that may change later.
It's hard to tell if they're using parts of it. I'm not sure even if the original alpha fight music was involved in the making of the one used here that I'd be able to recognize it. Although... If nothing else, I distinctly heard the (caves? normal adventuring music, I'd say) on piano for a large part. It sounded nice.

I just now realized how truly irritating Metroid 2's title music is. DING! DING! in that lovely classic GB soundfont.

This seems pretty cool. I just hope they speed up running a bit, since it's rather... slow. Otherwise, they're also missing the ability to turn into a ball midair.

Seems very nice otherwise. The lighting effects seemed very cool, although I know they don't really make or break the game.

It doesn't work quite right. "Emcee" and "alula" got through, at the very least.

(All should bear in mind: Barring a rotating cipher, the 1st and 3rd words are the same. Anyone have an idea what phrase would fit with a 4-letter word repeated?)

If you're talking emulated, I'd definitely suggest using one of the retranslation patches... even though I think they're only available for 1 and 2 for now. Those games got rather... devastated by the 4-letter limit for names (Motavia/Motabia->Mota, for instance).

Never played much of them myself, so I can't say much more on the subject.

Ehh, what the hey. I'd suggest 2, if for no other reason than that it strikes me as amusing. Definitely seems to have the whole "futuristic" thing in spades.

3 has the distinct feature of branching storyplots based on who you marry, though. Pretty sure that's rather unique in the world of RPGs, although it's apparently still considered the weakest in the series.

PS1 has 3D dungeons. Very interesting for a game as old as Final Fantasy.

I've actually had the urge recently to go and play through one or two of the games myself, but haven't gotten around to it yet. 2 would probably be the one I did first, for what that means.

Looks pretty good, except for two things. First: please change the font for the "FLOOR 111" screenshot. It's irritating to try to read that way.
Second: The 3rd screenshot on the second row has a few odd things about it. Why is Lolo standing in the water? And is there any way for you to disable the shadow from the left wall? It looks a bit funky with water being the only surround there.

Otherwise, looks nifty. Good to see puzzles with odd shapes to them.

EDIT: Oh, yeah. Can't believe I didn't notice this. 3rd screenshot, second row again. Could you shift this one to a level where you'd get stairs rather than a door? The door looks TERRIBLE there.

They've also dropped the "My" prefix from everything, so no more My Documents and My Computer.
Silly me. I remember when "Documents" was a list of recently opened files. Still is that way on my home computer, actually.

I don't think they really can change "Program Files". Even if they tried, so many things would still install there (by default) that it would prove rather fruitless.
